I stayed here for one night and it was nice. I love the room, spacious restroom, kitchenette, comfy bed, and views. The breakfast was stocked with great items as well. Stayed there in march room was good ! Everything was good! My son stayed there also his air didn't cool very good. Called in August to book the king suite again. Ask to check in early due a funeral. Arrived got the bigger room walked in the air conditioner was loud ! Ask for a another room. The lady at the front desk said the room next to us was available. My husband went over there checked it out the room was so small it was made for one person. Barely could fit into the restroom. Walk down there and ask if she had another big room her answer was no I have the room like you got now downstairs if you want it but it's the same size as the small room. I asked do you not have a bigger room like the one we booked. Her answer was nope! Went to get a paper cup three were wrapped three were unwrapped the one on the bottom was nasty it looked like somebody had used it for a spitting cup for tobacco! It just kept going downhill from there! The front desk was hardly ever anybody there they were either in the back or outside smoking! The air conditioning system could use a whole new upgrade. The breakfast was mediocre! No orange juice cold sausage! Would not recommend staying there! I can't believe a motel has only one king suite! We stayed here for a night after spending some time at the casinos. The room was clean and smelled good...which is a plus because some older places that allowed smoking in the past still have a stale smell. This place does NOT smell bad. The bed was a little too firm for my liking but it was comfortable. The room was large and roomy with a chair, desk, and a large dresser with built in refrigerator. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was a walk in style. We didn't stay for breakfast but went and checked it out...lots of options for many different eating plans. If we return to Lake Charles, we'd come here again. It was easy to access and close to the freeway and three casinos. read more

I booked the stay on 8/9/25 with hotels.com. I was told by the manager check in was at 4pm. The manager attitude was rude. I have to walk to the back of the receptionist station and ask for help. I was asked for a credit card for incidental. I noted that night I was charged for a night stay by Hotels. com and the actual hotel. I called the front desk and was assured the charges would drop off. Flash to today, my card has been charged. This is not acceptable. The room i received the carpet was dirty and room smelled. Do yourself a favor and stay here if you are in Lake Charles, La area!!! Cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. To my knowledge there were no unrealistic thermostat regulators in place so I controlled the rooms temperature not managements. This can be very important when visiting South Louisiana. Bed was so comfortable I slept 12 hours straight. As a female traveling alone, safety is always a concern. I felt very safe from the moment I drove onto the property. The parking lot is well lit and parking spots available. They were also very aware of who was coming and going. The management and hotel staff are attentive and ready to serve. I was in the area to care for a sick relative and the kindness I received from the front desk staff and management helped to make very difficult circumstances bearable. Wow! This hotel opened in May 2018. The decor is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast includes a selection of cereals, oatmeal, grits, juices, coffee, waffles, fruit and a variety of pastries. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful! We stopped here for the night traveling through from TX and saw they were the number one rated hotel on Yelp. Is it a luxury resort? No, but I would stay there again. Work crews started hammering and drilling around the building at 7:00 am. This woke us up and we couldn't get back to sleep. We had no notice of this when we booked the hotel and nobody told us when we checked in. An advance warning and an offer of ear plugs could have helped. read more

Beautiful property, stayed there to have a "meeting" with the owners, he's shady af. Following me into the bathroom for no reason and screaming in my face.. no deal dude. The rooms are beautiful, they missed on 50 or so small things that could make this SMALL concept a potential franchise. I prefer to stay a boutique hotels and after meeting the owner I must say.. the ho Jo on the other side of the freeway is 1000 times better. Just my humble opinion. We were traveling back from vacation and stopped here for the night. This is a small hotel, only 2 floors, no pool. It is very clean and nicely decorated. We were very happy that our party of 16 (5 rooms) were able to be accommodated on such short notice. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The owner was in the lobby the next morning as we were having breakfast and checking out. He was very friendly and kind to our family. The hotel has a continental breakfast which was very tasty and well stocked with a friendly staff working the breakfast area. I hate to do late reviews, however, uncontrolled issues arose. Anywho .... I stayed here over the Memorial Weekend (24-27). Prior to arrival, I received a message from the hotel stating, "We are looking forward to welcoming you to The Mulberry Hotel - Westlake. If there is anything we can do to make your stay extra special, please don't hesitate to let us know." ~The The Mulberry Hotel - Westlake team. I thought this was a nice gesture. Then, on May 23, a day prior to my hotel stay/arrival, I received a call from the Hotel Manager/Owner. Again, I believe it was an extra step in a welcoming, but by the end of the call, I couldn't help to feel as though he was trying to really see if I needed the two queen beds as I had originally booked. Which is ok with me, however, I wish he'd just come out and ask instead of small talk which at times felt a little intrusive on my visit to Louisiana. Upon arrival and entry, the Hotel was by far one of the best looking Foyers' I've come across. The pics do it no justice. It smelled clean, looked clean and felt clean. I was greeted by the wonderful smiles of Ms. Betty and Ms. Stephanie. These two here alone will want to make you stay at this Hotel, so inviting and genuinely nice. After gathering my check-in info, I noticed how they went the extra step to ask for my car information, make, model and license plate. As I looked puzzled Ms. Betty politely explained it was for our safety to know who is staying there as their guest. Basically, I would assume the establishment doesn't want random cars overnight parking who aren't paying customers or perhaps friends of the guest staying their? Again my assumption. Now the room, as soon as we walked in it was a noticeable difference to the size of the LaQuinta. It may have been the room set up or bulky furniture, but it felt smaller then what we are used too. But the decor, floors and fixtures were a nice touch. The bathrooms are spacious enough, and even though this is my area where I am the most anal about, besides the few long strands of blonde hairs (wasn't too happy, I like to think of a fresh room as no sign that a guest was here) located in the shower, it was too be assumed clean. Back to the main area, the beds appeared clean and smelled pleasant, however when turning down the bed, on the down cover up top (see pic) there was a stain that could've been anything, food, blood, juice etc., It was really noticeable, which makes me think they should've seen in when making up the bed. To fast forward to the night, if you prefer, hard stiff beds, then you are in the right spot. However, if you're like me and your body doesn't react well to stiff/firm mattresses, find another hotel. We woke up with stiff backs and seriously felt as if the night was a waste of tossing and turning. I miserable for 3 days and the pillows are so dense that I literally stacked 3 on each other and still darn near came flat with the mattress, but they were nice and brought more pillows at our request. The mornings were hard as the nights were rough, but the breakfast prepared was adequate to start our days. My son loved their biscuits! The breakfast ranged from, biscuits, pastries, cereal, waffles, I believe oatmeal, fruits, drinks, etc... Btw, the little gym came as some use, to get out the kinks, lol. I say that in all fun. Overall, the hotel suited our purpose and the staff was exceptional, which at the end of the day if you don't feel welcomed somewhere then what is the point of giving that establishment your business. I am a travel agent, so finding hotels that suit my audience is important. This was in a good area with great access to highway, casinos and other cities near. It felt safe and the parking is in good lighting and no spot is too far from the entrance. The only reason I gave it on A-ok, was because you have to frequent hotels enough to know if they stay consistent. I'm not sure if I'd be back to stay due to the "to firm" mattresses, however, I will stop on by to say hi to Ms. Betty and Ms. Stephanie. :-) Review on my fellow Elites..... read more

I booked a room for my future daughter in law this weekend before her wedding, which is now my daughter in law (love). From the booking of the room to checking out was easy and professional. The lady at the front desk, (Kayla Ellzey) was fantastic to work with. She brought me to look at the different levels of rooms and we chose the King Suite. The rooms are beautiful, clean and perfectly sized. I am a local citizen and have been involved in local government for many years and it is always nice to see a new business done professionally and bring value to our city. Everything about our stay was perfect. I especially appreciated the owner, Mr. Baggett making a point of thanking us for staying at their property. I've never experienced that level of customer service from any other hotel. There was a little confusion regarding the room that I selected initially, however the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our request. There was a covered patio off of the Breakfast area, however there was no place to sit. The property was recently opened, so I assume seating will be added at some point. I spoke to Mr. Baggett and he is committed to his guest. Our comfort & satisfaction seemed to be his #1 priority. I'm pretty confident that when I return in the fall, there will be outdoor seating and hopefully a nice fire pit. :) I will most certainly make the Mulberry Hotel my first choice when visiting Westlake / Lake Charles. read more

We were totally amazed at this hotel how nice it was. It definitely was head and shoulders above most hotels. With our job we have traveled and stayed at lots of hotels. The staff went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. They treated us like we were the only guest there. Seen them treating the other guest the same way. The hotel is only 2 years old. Super clean. Large rooms. Smelled new. Comfort beds. Laundry facility was spotlessly clean with new equipment. They had a computer area that guest could use with new computers and printer. Nice living room/guest area when you first walk in if you want to visit with friends. Exercise room. Price was very reasonable. We got a suit staying for a week. Had kitchen that was furnished. Desk area. Area we could dine at. Nice comfort chair. Bathroom was totally spotless. Wonderful Stay! The Mulberry Hotel was recommended to me for a business trip in the area. I could not have been more pleased. It is a new hotel and everything is fresh and clean. The rates are also very affordable. However, those factors are only secondary to the outstanding service that everybody there, from the owner through the staff provided during my stay. It exceeded anything I've ever experienced before, including stays that very expensive high-brow properties. Staff were always available, happy to help, were never overbearing or ostentatious and truly did it out of heart. When driving to the property, I could clearly see the casino hotels several miles south and even thought of staying there instead. I am very happy that I didn't. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! The only complaint is that five stars are not enough to describe my satisfaction. A must-stay hotel. read more
