My coworkers and I have been frequenting Red Silo for months as we study on weekend mornings for a certification exam. Red Silo has been a wonderful study location, with ample seating upstairs. The coffee and latte drinks are good. But what really keeps us coming back are the pastries. Plus, it's always great to have bonfire burritos available. We stopped in for some coffee and tea and a GF dessert. The iced latte was good and they had many syrups to choose from. My husband had a black iced tea with a double shot of raspberry syrup but it was rather weak on the flavor. The dessert was good and the ambiance was casual and low noise level. First and last time coming here. Customer service was awful. We ordered two coffees. Took forever. When they finally said our name, I took it and said where is the other one, we ordered two. The staff person said you picked up the other one; I said no I didn't. Then she said well I guess someone else took your coffee. NO offer at that point to remake my drink. The customer who took my coffee told us the staff person handed them our coffee, so staff lied when they said I didn't pick it up. Then when I told the staff person she needed to remake my coffee because we paid for it and she gave the first one to the wrong customer, we got dirty looks from her as though this was our fault. Just say you're sorry and fix your mistake! Don't blame the customer when they had nothing to do with it! There are WAY too many coffee places to put up with this nastiness. Won't be back. read more

My daughter was meeting a friend and I dropped her by. I had to snag a little afternoon jolt. I ordered a mocha because chocolate. This place is a little off the beaten path, but worth winding back into the industrial area away from the hustle of the main street. There is ample seating and parking extends back behind the building. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. They have wonderful looking pastries in the case and they also have ice cream! My daughter got a cocoa and a chocolate croissant. (The apple doesn't fall far, right?) She told me that both were delicious. Why does nowhere know how to make a proper London fog!? I ordered the farmhouse fog (basically a london fog but with lavender and honey instead of vanilla). It was SO hot because they use mostly hot water and a tiny bit of steamed milk. Suggestion: steep your earl grey for 4 mins in like 200g of hot water (200 degrees). This way it's concentrated! then steam 8oz of milk to 150 degrees 155 max and put that over the earl grey concentrate. you can add your normal 10g lav and 10g honey. these drinks could be soooo good, but yall use way to much hot water and the earl grey is hardly noticeable because its not steeped long enough or its diluted with too much water. Anyways, they have good seating and they have some good food options. so that's good! read more

This is such a cute place to study! I love how the upstairs separates you from the busyness of the coffee making and ordering going on downstairs when you want to chill or study. That said, I'm not impressed with the food. I like coming here between church service and church meetings since it's so convenient, but I'm not a coffee drinker and the tea here is just not great. Chai was fine, but the matcha just tasted like sweetener, and the farmhouse London fog and Red Rocks tea latte were pretty milky without much tea flavor. The almond croissant isn't the right texture and not buttery enough. The brownies and cinnamon streusel muffin are alright. Service is also excellent; they are so friendly, personal, and kind. If only I could drink coffee, I'm sure the drink experience would be better! read more

This place is a little hidden gem! My friend invited me to have coffee and to catch up. She suggested this place and I am so glad she did. The staff members were really friendly. My friend doesn't drink coffee very often and needed help deciphering the difference between all of the different espresso drinks. The barista was very patient and thoroughly explained each one. She even gave suggestions as to what my friend should order. In the end, I just got the coffee of the day with cream, and my friend got a white chocolate latte. On their website, it says that they have Santiago's breakfast burritos, which I was excited about. When I went to order the burrito, I saw that it rang up as a Bonfire burrito instead. I was fine with that as I like Bonfire as well. I got the chorizo and sweet potato one which was fantastic. They are a pretty good size. My coffee was just ok. It had a weird sour/bitter taste to it and I did not end up finishing it. I expected just a regular cup of breakfast blend morning coffee, but this was not it. I tried to put sugar in it to cut the bitterness, but that did not work. My friend enjoyed her latte though and they even put a cute design on it. We went upstairs to sit and found a cozy little corner with 2 plush velvety chairs to sit in. I loved how all of the tables and seating were spaced apart and private. I also loved how there were outlets everywhere for you to plug your electronics into. I could totally see myself studying here, reading, or just working on my laptop! read more

NOT OK. This is Red Silo's idea of a breakfast burrito. Naturally burritos are a great option for someone running late because they are so portable, but why bother when you need to obtain a fork and a plate to eat it! I have complained multiple times to the workers here to see if there could be a better idea to deliver this to the customer but their response has been "there is nothing we can do " or just a simple shoulder shrug. I've been BRUSHED OFF. The coffee cups are also an issue. Maybe they need to order new ones because every time I get a coffee to go, I literally bathe in coffee and my car is a mess because the lid leaks. EVERY. TIME. I like to support local when I can instead of hitting up good ol St*rbucks, but I might have to go back to them because at least I know that I'm going to get something served with care! read more

Cute little spot hidden in an industrial park. Built around an old grain silo, although you'd never tell from the outside. They roast their own beans which is always a bonus. Had a quick cup of coffee (Peru bean, clean) + wife had a pistachio matcha latte special (very pistachio forward and yummy!); we also shared a mixed berry scone which was baked well with a lovely crust although could have used more berries. Overall enjoyed this spot and will likely be in again to try some of their other coffee offerings, specials, and as they also appear to make their own ice cream! This place is off the main road so can easily be missed but they have a giant red sign to let you know --- hey come this way. Once I got there, it's in a start of a new little plaza so easy parking. You walk in and the ordering counter is right there. I ordered my usual chai tea. The workers are chatty and really friendly. The drink came out pretty fast and was very full. My clumsy shaky hands spilled a little going up the stairs. They have a table downstairs and then upstairs - other tables and rooms to create a bit of privacy which was nice since I came her to FaceTime with my headphones in. I felt it wasn't too loud and it wasn't too quiet so it was a good place to have some privacy but still be able to hear your conversation. I did have to go back downstairs once I had my laptop and everything set up to ask for the WiFi password. Could be helpful if they have it somewhere upstairs. They had a place to leave your cups on your way out so super easy. Cute place! I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

My review is for the new Golden location. And it is a great location, where Starbucks was previously located downtown. This is the best coffee in downtown Golden. They offer breakfast burritos from Bonfire, and a small but adequate selection of pastries. They don't try to do more. They focus on great coffee served with a smile, and they do a great job. Bathrooms are good. But the back of the shop is a little dark. And the metal chairs are hella uncomfortable. But they are very friendly and the coffee will remind oldsters of Peets and Starbucks in the '80s. Damn good coffee and espresso. read more

For weird coffee people: Tried this shop hoping to find a new specialty roaster that I love as much as Sweet Bloom or Corvus, and Red Silo was not that. I had a regular drip coffee which said Columbian. I saw no other information on sourcing, such as plot location or size. I asked the young lady at the register the varietal of bean and she was unsure. As for the cup- it tasted over roasted, somewhat burnt. It had little to no sweetness and was brewed with too high of a coffee to water ratio by taste. As for atmosphere- they definitely went for a more southern look (there could be a better adjective but thats the vibe I got). It was comfortable to work at, and there was a reasonable amount of tables for the space. All in all, I wish them well, but from someone more versed than the average consumer, it wasnt for me. To summarize- not great coffee, not roasted well, and unknown information about the coffee. This is all subjective, and maybe I went on a bad day, with a new or unknowledgeable employee read more

I have been to many coffee shops this week, and this is by far my favorite. They have amazing coffee, incredibly kind staff, and even more than that, the atmosphere is very welcoming. They have the main area on the ground level, an upper level, as well as 2 conference rooms great for meetings or hang outs. Only issue is that it is not supper easy to locate. You sorta have to weave through some backroads to find the place. Other than that, I would say this is an excellent place to get coffee and would highly recommend it. read more

I have only been here once, but what a neat experience. With all the Starbucks out there I am always pleasantly surprised when a local roastery out-shines the billion dollar chain coffee shops. Kombucha flights (great selection of flavors), alternative dairy options, cold brew, tummy fresh pastries, breakfast sandwiches, house brew teas (yummy and flavorful) and a facility that is both roomy and filled with amazing natural lighting. The coffee shop is a bit off the beaten path, so after your initial visit the problem won't be finding it anymore but it will be not coming back.... I've actually visited the location three days in a row: first time was to check it out after a friend told me about it, came back the next day to work remotely from there, and then brought my whole family to experience it as well. As a working space, there is plenty of outlets stationed throughout the space...and the space is open enough that I feel like sound is at about the right level for both privacy and clarity (i.e., not too loud)...which is perfect. Of course, what wouldn't be a coffee shop without good coffee. I enjoy a smooth cold brew, which they deliver. Looking forward to sampling some of their drip and pour over options. The option to do a flight of their Kombucha is a huge plus for me as well. Not sure how popular it is among others, but it's a good way to sample the different (and unique) flavorings, that way you know what to get the next time in. With plenty of food options as well (including GF), you won't be missing much if you were here for an extended period...of which I've partaken in as well and wasn't let down. The Mac-N-Cheese and breakfast sammies were pretty dang good. Looking forward to coming back and enjoying the excellent service that has been experienced so far. read more

Finally- a local coffee shop to replace my former favorite, Billy D's, that went out a couple years ago. Red Silo hits the mark on high quality, good tasting coffee & friendly staff. This place has different options than ones you'd find at other coffee shops, & has a nice large space for working or meeting up with a group. They're not the fastest in terms of time you order to when you get your drink- go to Starbucks for that- but their drinks taste great & I love supporting local businesses. This is located in a semi-strange area behind a commercial park so I hope people can find it- but their signs are what initially drew me to this place! They even have a rewards program. This will be my neighborhood go-to coffee shop from now on. read more

It was my first time here and the staff were not very welcoming because they were all talking to another customer and I honestly felt like a bother when I had to order. Stood there for a good couple minutes before I was acknowledged. The coffee I got was the Rumchata cold brew which was decent but I thought the price was high for the size. I also got a bacon breakfast burrito. The burrito tasted delicious, but as other reviews state it completely falls apart when unwrapping it since the tortilla is stuck to the wrapping. Most of the seating is upstairs and if you have a wheelchair, stroller, or handicapped person in your party there are limited seating areas.
