Excellent downtown ice cream shop. Also many blast from the past candies. Plenty of selections for everyone and the kid scoops are more than plenty for even adults. A definite great stop for anyone adventuring around Golden! don't forget a pup cup for your pet. :-) read more

Classic ice cream shop, perfect for an evening walk to get some delicious flavors! i was impressed with the amount of options they had, but unimpressed with the size of scoop based on the price. It's colorado so i shouldn't be surprised, ice cream is expensive and they don't like it on like they do in the midwest or east coast. overall i do recommend it but wish the servings were bigger. read more

If you're looking for a nice sweet little treat while walking around Golden, this is the place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful even though it was busy. Cute ice cream shop in downtown golden! The ice cream said it is from Magills so I guess they don't make their own? I love magills though so it's ok. I had the 7 layer coconut and the horchata. Horchata was really awesome. The 7 layer coconut didn't have all the layers as expected and was a bit disappointing. The Jack Daniel's and raspberry chocolate one was good. Especially loved the Jack Daniel's. The ice cream is always a great consistency here which I love. The store was cute and charming and had some inside seating and a patio area. People are nice as well read more

Waiting in the line to get ice cream, all of my fellow millennials can enjoy blast from the past candy you thought didn't exist anymore (like candy buttons!) The ice cream selection is great offering something for everyone! The kid scoops were more than enough for our kids and everyone left happy and smiling. A definite great stop for anyone adventuring around Golden! (And fun fact on the old time-y candy- the paper no longer sticks to the candy buttons which was disappointing for the adults as we watched our kids eat these hoping they got the full "paper stuck to the back of the candy" experience lol) read more

I've taken the trip to Golden the last two years now and this was the first time I stopped in to this place. It's a pretty standard little ice cream shop. I'm partial to a place back in Chicago and I swear it has the best ice cream with unique flavors, but Golden Sweets just might take the top spot for me. I had a caramel brownie scoop and my girlfriend had a S'mores cone. Both were so so good. Wish I had it back home! read more

Ok ... I was sent here to try the ice cream and bam! I fell in love with the Carmel salted Oreo cookie ice cream. Now, I'm a Haagen Daz guy all day long, but this is right there and it's in the old town part of Golden so it's totally Out West feel on the streets outside. read more

Golden Sweets has the best ice cream. We come here in Golden a lot. It's great place to walk around and check out the shops. But did you know it's also an excellent very dog friendly area and Golden Sweets does Cup Pups. Our doggo friends love it and it's such a friendly and cheerful spot. The ice cream here is creamy and delicious and they have quite a few options. I highly recommend taking a stroll in Golden and stopping by Golden Sweets both humans and doggos! read more

Stumbled across Golden Sweets while roaming around Golden. The service was great as they offered samples of the different ice creams. All of the staff members were friendly and happy to help. This place is so cute and unique! It is located right in the heart of downtown Golden, and it has a large variety of delicious ice cream flavors to choose from. It not only has ice cream, but it has a ton of chocolate dipped sweets, as well as shelves of candy. You cannot find anywhere else. We walked here after having dinner for a sweet treat. I was in awe at all of the fun, nostalgic, candy they had. The chocolate dipped sweets in the case looked incredible as well. The large variety of flavor options made it hard to decide which one to get, but in the end, I opted for the Jack Daniels chocolate chip. You could taste all of the rich flavors perfectly. It is probably one of the best ice cream flavors I have ever had! The consistency was not a typical hard ice cream like I am used to, but I am sure the alcohol effects how it sets. It was more like soft serve . The young man working there was extremely friendly and nice. He let us taste a few ice cream flavors before deciding which one to get. Every time I have been here it has been busy, which is a testament to how good it truly is! read more

Place was really good. Service was great and the ice cream was delicious. Though my friend didn't like the caramel costing him $3001. $1 for the caramel. $3000 because it pulled out a crown, and now he has to get it surgically replaced. Otherwise, it was still pretty dang good. read more

This is such a cute sweet shop. We stopped by on Friday while visiting Golden. The kids both had ice cream, hubs had a malt, and I had 2 pieces of their handmade chocolate. Everything was delicious. I also like that they had some great little gift items and nostalgic candies to purchase. Service was also great and everything was very clean. Golden may be one of my new favorite cities in the country. Excellent walking town, everything is supremely walkable with amazing views at every turn. We needed a little pick-me-up between meetings and I aimed for the peanut butter shake which was well worth the wait. It'll keep you full all afternoon (not sure if that's a good or bad thing) with tiny bursts of sugar rushes to last you late until dinner. This is right by the creek/river where you can go tubbing in the summer. If you can bring drinks on that excursion, let a brother know. read more

Great experience at Golden Sweets, the staff was very friendly and patient. We ordered 2 cones: one had cookies and cream with cookie dough and the other had red raspberry with chocolate. We were definitely happy! The cookies and cream was the best of all the flavors and the cookies in it were nice and fudgy! It's also pretty cool that they have shirts, gifts, chocolates, and truffles! I was tempted to go back in for some more sweets. read more

What a gem! Tonight on our walk around Golden, to get outta Denver, we came across this spot open late. (Til 10 on a weeknight? Big plus!) The shop itself is super cute but on the small side. The younger gentleman scooping ice cream was very nice and let us sample a few things. The ice cream is quality. Some of the best I've had in Colorado so far. Golden Sweets is such a downtown / old town confectionery. I took one of my partner's kids here for her birthday and let her pick out whatever she wanted to eat. Service wasn't great (a little soul-sucking) and the chocolate was just okay. The truffles were standard, some of the fancier ones made my teeth hurt, and there was a cupcake-sized block of M&Ms encased in chocolate that was impossible to break into. Overall I wasn't very impressed and much prefer the froyo place across the street. read more

Fantastic place to stop and get ice cream in downtown golden. It's right in the heart of downtown close to free 2 hour parking and walkable from anywhere. This cute little shop has decadent ice cream as well as chocolate treats in the case. It does have a small selection of other candy as well, but is not primarily a full fledged candy stop from what I could tell. They had donuts from back alley donuts when we came in so we got to try them as well. The outdoor seating really sealed the deal for us and we can't wait to make it out spot on our "adventure" days. read more

Very cute ice cream and sweet shop in Golden on their Main Street. They have a little bit of everything in their candy case and the chocolates were delicious. I chose a chocolate covered cordial cherry and a pecan turtle. Barley made it to my car before devouring these delectable treats. The guy who helped me out was nice and was nice to the people he served prior to me as well. It's a smaller shop so there is a limit of patrons allowed in the shop. Prices are reasonable for all of the items that you will find here. read more

We decided after dinner to pop in and grab a couple scoops for the kiddos and an almond toffee. The ice cream selection was plentiful, as was the chocolate selection. I should have opted for a kids scoop b/c 1-scoop is really 2, no idea what a 2-scoop would be (maybe a tummy ache)! The ice cream was good, not overly sweet but a solid ice cream. Small, cute Icecream, candy, chocolate shop. The Ice cream flavors are basic with a decent selection spanning, dairy free, sorbets and flavors of the season. The truffles are as you would find in a Chocolate shop. Be prepared for a line and to enjoy your treats outside of the shop because the seating is very limited. The service is good not great not a huge standout but a nice stop while in Golden. read more

Great Ice Cream We went here with our grandkids to get hot cocoa after walking the Golden Holiday Lights. Well, once we got there, they wanted ice cream. I got the buttered pecan and it was very good. My husband was the only one to get the cocoa and it was disappointing. Not much flavor. He ate half my ice cream. The service was great. This place is small. Will be back in the summer. read more

Don't miss this Golden opportunity for some good ice cream. Chocolate too. They have both here. I was a bit disappointed when I just missed an awesome sounding coconut flavor. The flavor came down from the board just as I was about to order. My backup choice of espresso chocolate chip was good too. Got a single scoop but it seemed like a double in that waffle cone. Wasn't complaining. My scale might've been but not me. The people there were all friendly and they kept the line moving quickly. Not a bad stop at all in Golden CO. read more

A cute ice cream shop on Main Street does not disappoint! Serving up Boulder's own Glacier Ice Cream, Golden Sweets is a perfect treat after a day spent soaking up the Colorado sunshine. Don't be fooled by the line out the door, the scoopers move fast and are accommodating! I went for a half scoop of the mint chip and a half of the funky donkey and was feeling like one happy guy! I am so happy that they offer half n half of flavors... the less compromises I have to make on my ice cream experience, the better! Expedient service & friendly smiles! We love the fresh waffle cones that are so crunchy but not overly sweet or sticky. The ice cream is delicious and creamy yet light. A few years ago I bought my husband some chocolate turtles for Christmas from here and he also loved those. My son and I enjoy sitting outside at the picnic tables when we come to Golden to see the river and the historic buildings. read more

When I found Bibamba while I was at Edgewater Food Hall to get me a plate of Ethiopian food, I stumbled up it by accident. The kind lady who was manning the register inside was above and beyond while I was sampling different types of chocolate barks along the window shelves. She explained to me that the store opened about three years ago. Really? I am pretty sure I had come here within that time frame at least once. I guess I had missed this place out of ignorance. Well, I, at least, discovered it. This is a Colorado store which imports cacao beans from Cameroon as the owner runs/owns a farm in the African country. Per the information board on the wall, the farm sustainably sources everything. I certainly appreciate businesses that focus on social responsibility. The chocolate bark samples I tried were all exquisite. After tasting, I walked around a bit to take some photos of the interior. Yes, this store is quite different than other typical chocolatiers for sure. You'll have visit it and see for yourself. The glass showcase upfront had truffles, cakes and parfaits all nicely displayed. The decadent looking cake or the parfait were tantalizing. Unfortunately, however, they were a little too big for me. Hence I decided to go with several pieces of the small chocolates as they all were of a good size. I got me two truffles and one chocolate piece. And they were.... -Black Forest Buzz Truffle -Cinnamon Roll Truffle -Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Including tax and tip, all came to less than $14. Quite decent, I thought. I enjoyed all of them but my absolute shout-out goes to the Black Forest Buzz Truffle. It was so good where I wanted to go back to the shop immediately to get me another one. Yes, I agree. As the store name says it all, this is an artisan chocolate shop. The skills and techniques they use to create those outstanding chocolate pieces are high-quality, one-of-a-kind goods that are distinguished from others. You won't taste something like this in those mass-produced ones sold at the store we go to daily. Bibamba simply became my absolute favorite chocolatier that day. The only complaint? It's not very close from my southeast Denver house!!!

Here is why you should go here: - Small family owned and run…read morebusiness. - All Cacao comes from their 56-acre farm in Cameroon (Central Africa). - No slave labor used at all. - Only the finest ingredients used. - Everything they make and sell is organic and sustainable. Took a chocolate truffle making class and learned all about chocolate production and chocolate making. The owners are passionate about their chocolate, and it shows. First, we started with a presentation with photos of their farm in Cameroon and how they harvest, ferment, and dry their cacao beans, followed by roasting, winnowing (removing shells), and grinding into "cocoa liquor". Then bagging in 150-pound bags and shipping directly to their warehouse in Colorado. From here, their employees mix with sugar/milk and make the most organically rich and pure chocolate. It takes about a week in the melanger (mixer) for the cacao and sugar to blend into smooth, rich and creamy deliciousness. In the hands-on portion of the class, we took some of their 50% cacao and made dark chocolate truffles, rolled in a large variety of toppings--dried strawberries, pink sugar, pistachios, cookie crumble, peppermint. Of course, we all went home with lots of tasty samples to share of (eat alone.). Very interesting, tasty and fun. Their store is worth visiting as it is absolutely beautiful with numerous products on display. We got the "fiona" (a mango-kiwi dessert), a "scarlett" (raspberry chocolate dessert), berry-licious croissant tart, and a lemon madeleine. The "fiona" was perfectly balanced with a solid mango and kiwi flavor coming through. It had creamy component, a cake component, and a fruit component with a glaze. Not too sweet, but certainly sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. The "scarlett" was intensely raspberry in the mousse component. The raspberry jam on top brought the sweetness to temper the tartness of the mousse, and the chocolate cake and chocolate cookie components also balanced out the dessert with a nice natural bittersweet from the cocoa component. The fruit croissant tart had nice fruit on it, and the cream component reads like a yogurt. The croissant part itself was very tasty and makes me excited to try their original butter croissant next time. And finally, the Madeleine was very impressive. I am not a fan of frosting-like stuff on Madeleines, but this worked so well because it was not too sweet. Very balanced flavors, yet again, with some of that natural bitterness again that contrasts so excellently with the flavors. If I could only use key words to describe their desserts, it would be: beautiful, balanced, complex, and natural. I won't be able to come here often due to how far away I live from here, but I know that I will be back.
