I will start off by saying the driver Mike was fantastic! He arrived on time, helpful and was professional every step of the way! This review is in no way a reflection on his service. We booked our trip well in advance and the booking process was very easy. A few days before our trip I called to confirm we were all good to go. I was told the bus we originally booked (Pink party bus) was having AC issues and that we were going to be given a white bus with better AC. Given it is July in Texas we knew working AC was a must. Upon getting on the bus the AC was on and turned fully down however the bus was miserably hot. Our drive to the wineries was 1.5 hours and we were sweating the entire time. We visited multiple wineries and It was disappointing to get back on the bus and feel like we were going to pass out from heat especially when the drive was long. It made it hard to have any fun on the bus as we all just sat there trying not to overheat more than we already were. For this price point we should have been on a bus with working AC, especially after we had to change buses to accommodate our original bus not working. After drop off the driver mentioned it was not working correctly and that he would look into it. read more

Good communication but the buses were a little old. Our driver accidentally hit a parked car and the bus started to break down so they had to get another driver with another bus to come get my group. The bus we got picked up in was a lot nicer and newer than the one they originally provided us. read more

Wasn't thrilled with our experience with this company. We went out last weekend with about 12 people for a birthday celebration. The driver was courteous and well dressed. He did arrive late, but he did call to let us know there was an unexpected traffic jam and that he would be late on the pickup. This was not a problem for us and would not have impacted my final review. My main issue was that we had no clue how to use any of the features on the bus (lights, music, television, etc.). The driver explained to me that he was new and never drove this bus before, so he was unaware how it all worked. I definitely don't blame him because I know what it is like to be new to a job. But I feel like the company should provide some better explanations for the driver (or the passengers) on how to use the equipment. Maybe an instruction manual in the back on how to connect to the music or adjust lights etc. After about 2 hours we finally figured out how to connect to the radio, but we couldn't get the audio quality to sound right. It was really fuzzy and if we turned it up it would get extremely distorted like the signal was clipping. The top lights were blinding and we had no idea how to turn them off. The laser lights didn't turn on from the interface in the back. Assuming the controls were in the front? So we finally just gave up on that one. The tv in the back was blank. I was told during booking that they normally put up a fish tank screen which would have been much more aesthetically pleasing than a dead tv. Thankfully we had a good night overall with the activities we did. But was kinda bummed on the overall quality of this service considering the price paid. Again, I don't blame the driver as he did try to make an effort for us. But I do have to admit the whole thing just seemed very unorganized for a luxury limousine service. It seems we may have just gotten unlucky this time based on some other reviews which is very unfortunate. But based off our experience I don't know if I could recommend this service. :( Update: Changing review from 2 to 4 stars. The owners reached out to me and rectified the situation. They were extremely courteous and explained that this was a new driver error and they would make sure this would not happen again. read more

Had a horrible experience with this company. We had a large group of about 20 out in Blanco to celebrate a birthday. We booked well over a month in advance and paid the deposit. On the day of - the bus did not show up at our pickup time. After calling, the company said there was no reservation for us and their initial response was to blame us. After we provided all communication, including booking information, e-mails, etc - there was still no ownership for their mistake. Eventually, they admitted that they forgot to put our reservation in their system. They said they could get a bus out to us by 3pm (3 hours after initial reservation). We changed the plans for the day as we had a handful of reservations we would miss due to the delay in transportation. After our group continued to wait at our lodging, they sent a text stating they could not get a bus to us after all. We then had to change our entire day again. Since we were in Blanco, finding any other means of transportation to wineries was nonexistent. No uber - no lyft available. All guests were from out of town (many from out of state), so we had to cancel all preexisting plans. People spent a lot of money coming down for this event all for it to not work out because the company "forgot to put it in the system". I understand that mistakes happen - however how this company dealt with the situation was absolutely terrible. read more

I cannot begin to explain how horrible our experience was. We booked over a month in advance, paid the deposit, emailed back and forth with the owner several times and when the day came, no one showed up. We called and after first telling us it was our mistake, they told us that they forgot to put it in their system. I had people flying into Texas for my 40th birthday, 3 reservations that were set up a month in advance that we had to pay to cancel, all because they "forgot". They then told us that they could have someone to drive us by 3pm, so we rescheduled our entire day, and then texted to let us know that that wasn't happening either. The entire weekend was ruined. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are many, many other reliable companies in the Austin/Fredericksburg area. Do not risk having the transportation not show up after you have been planning for months. read more

Even with a tire blowout that waylaid our party plans for nearly an hour, the bus, driver and overall experience was great. We had 13 rowdy bachelors, and the bus held up strong. Also, no charges for cleanup, and I know we probably sloshed some beer around. There was a brief payment dispute with one of their lower rung employees, but Megan, the co-owner, cleared it all up in a prompt, courteous manner. This review is long overdue. We rented the 26 passenger party bus for my sisters birthday party last year September. Bus came all the way to Killeen and drove our party of about 23 people down to Sixth street and back home. We were charged extra for the distance which we didn't mind at all as it was well worth it. The driver was Excellent! Drove us where we asked and put up with our loud music and dancing. It was a great time had by all. Driver was on time and really knew the Austin area which was really helpful. Reservation process and payment was simple. The bus itself was beautiful inside and everyone was super impressed! I would love to leave a review about the quality of these buses, except for the fact that I never even got to see the inside of a bus. We ordered this bus for our high school's senior formal, and they canceled on us LESS THAN TWO HOURS before our scheduled time. The only explanation we were given was that the driver had become unavailable and they were unable to get in touch with ANY other driver, which is a somewhat understandable situation but what is NOT understandable is that they notified us at a time that was ridiculously last minute. When we called to inform them that we were willing to push back the time if they could keep trying to get in touch with the other drivers, the man on the other end of the phone rudely hung up mid sentence. The only redeemable thing this company offered was the fact that we at least got a refund- but we will never get back the opportunity for senior year memories. Edit: a change from one star to three stars- The company has done everything they can to make things right. The owner personally called to apologize, and they not only gave us a refund, but also payed the difference between the bus we booked from them and the limo that we rented last minute. Also, they offered us a free bus ride on another night of our choosing. The situation was not ideal, but the people at Red Star Party Bus did their best to fix the problem. read more

This is a joke of a company, we rented a bus two weeks in advance and they cancelled on us 30 minutes before the scheduled pick up time, they invented an excuse for why they couldn't (apparently the driver went to the hospital but in reality they couldn'f reach him), they could not find another driver, they hung up the phone on us, and I could go on more; terrible service do not hire them! read more

Thank you for your response Megan. 1) There were 15 people in our party so Im sure we have at least half who have text messages that show we actually left the venue in San Antonio at 10:40 and not 11:40 2) If we had left at 11:40 as you claim there would have been little to no traffic leaving the venue therefore no reason to have to take an alternate route 3) If the driver thought an alternate route would have been the best option he should have discussed with the paying customer 4) When we addressed this with your owner, he insulted us by saying we should have not been intoxicated otherwise we would have known we were in the middle of nowhere 5) That is the whole reason why people take a party bus in the first place, is so they can enjoy themselves without worry, and not to mention there were people in our party who were not drinking and spoke up to the driver several times that they thought we were not going the right way 6) Had we taken the normal route home we would have not had to make the additional stops, but when we realized we were in the middle of nowhere and not sure when we would be back in Austin, we asked the driver to make a restroom break. 7) We booked your company because we had read so many good reviews and we do hope that this is not your policy, but the lack of courtesy in trying to resolve the issue is what is making us feel the need to alert others of our experience. read more

Rude man canceled on us 1 HOUR before we were meant to leave because "there were no bus drivers". I called to ask why he could not call another bus driver or why he didn't have a backup, and he said there was nothing he could do and proceeded to hang up on me. Ruined our night and plans we had had for months. Despite this, the owners gave us a refund and a free make-up bus ride and were very nice and accommodating after our complaints and the bus was very nice. Still didn't get our senior homecoming that we had planned since the beginning of the school year, but at least the owners tried to makeup for their mistake. read more

If I could give this company less than a star, I would. I've had plenty of party buses for various events, and this one was by far THE WORST. Not only were petty things wrong with it, such as the stripper pole being one of the cheapest I've seen (and terrifying to use seeing as it was about to detach from the ceiling, and had separate pieces that were dangerous), it also didn't provide a place for your music to be safely hooked up, so instead my iPod went flying numerous times due to the driver stopping suddenly or making a quick turn, then there was only one place on the bus for us to put our drinks, and even that didn't come with ice, so we had to take time away from our even to get ice. More importantly, the bus driver scammed us out of another hour's payment by telling us to meet him at a certain to make it home on time, and then once we got there, informed us that if he didn't get a credit card, he would leave us there. If he knew that he needed more time to get us home, we would have met him earlier, instead he lied to us to get more money from us. Not only that, but when he did charge my credit card, it was WAY over the hourly cost of the bus stated in the contract!! Over all this bus was a TERRIBLE experience and I would definitely suggest choosing ANY other bus company over this one... Myself and no one I know will ever use it again... read more

Man oooh man oooh man. Derek and Company totally took care of us. Our driver, Mike, the sweetest guy alive arrived on time and was a complete pro. We rented the "Dionysian" Edition Party Bus, and I am telling you...if you have the extra cash...definitely go with this bad boy. It's out of this world! That sound system though. Anyways, we went from San Antonio to Austin and back. Mike knew exactly where to go. Told him once and he knew exactly where to park and where to pick us up. I honestly don't think we did much walking that night because Mike would park super close to where we were going and he'd be right there to pick us up. Definitely ask for Mike to be your driver, if he's available. I would certainly recommend Red Star Party Bus and am planning to use them again for my sister's bachlorette party in March. Their buses get booked very quickly, and you can see why. So if you have a party, wedding, prom to go to, I highly recommend you book them today. You won't regret it, matter of fact, you'll have stories to tell your friends for days! read more

Red Star Party Bus caused our wedding to be delayed nearly 30 minutes. They were scheduled to pick up a group of guests in downtown Austin and deliver them to our wedding in Dripping Springs. After reading that they'd charge an extra hour if they had to wait more than 10 minutes, we told our guests to be ready at 5 when the pickup was actually 5:15. Our wedding was at 6:30. After some time had passed and no bus, guests began calling the groom to see what was up, and he called Red Star. He was told it'd be 10 more minutes, so he relayed. After a series of phone calls and still no bus, it was 5:45. Red Star said they were at Ben White and on their way. At this point, the guests were already going to be late to the wedding, so they hopped in their cars (luckily enough people had rentals - all were from out of town) at nearly 6:00 and set off to our wedding. We had to delay until almost 7:00 when they finally arrived. So for the rest of the night things were delayed/cut short. read more
