I am try Pride Mechanical Heating and A/C this year for my maintenance services…read more The staff for setting up my appointment was extremely considerate and helpful. A very pleasant experience and customer service driven. This is a Local Family business that hasn't forgotten the meaning of customer service and Communication! The technician, Travis, went beyond my expectations and took his time explaining everything along with providing Outstanding services and communication. I will definitely be asking for his assistance in the summer visit. So far I must say that this company has been an unexpected surprise and welcome Company to my needs. I would Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a customer friendly company. I use to have Norfolk Air Air but found they have gone away from customer service, listening and Communicating to the customers. (Service Manager needs to be re-trained. Now service technicians are about what can they sell or push on the consumer . I was a 14 year customer. 1st Choice should be Pride Mechanical!

I chose this business based on their Yelp reviews, which are almost improbably high. I crossed my…read morefingers and hoped for the best, and I have to say, those reviews were 100% earned. I have an aged a/c that is limping along. Not once did anyone jump to selling me a new one. They determined I had radically low Freon (for which they undercharged me based on an estimate that had been a tad low.) They used a leak kit (something involving dye that glows under a black light?) to help identify the leak in future if that should turn out to have been the problem. It indeed was the problem. When I called a few weeks later to report that my a/c wasn't doing much cooling, I was put on the schedule for two days later (there was rain or it would've been the next day.) The leak was identified thanks to their foresight, repaired, and for that service I was charged a grand total of just over $80. I would recommend this business to anyone. Also, it's always a pleasure calling and talking to the scheduler. She's a delight.

These are my people!…read more Cassidy, the service tech that came over to do our semi-annual service was very polite, professional, and knew his stuff. I really appreciated his thoroughness, and also his diligence to keep the house as clean as possible. I say that last point because he had to go in and out of our house like a hundred times and each time he was careful to take his shoe coverings on and off. That kind of diligence means a lot because it shows he pays attention to detail. At the end of the day, our house was given the assurance that everything is good to go for the winter and that's all I needed. Even more important, he wasn't trying to add more fees or unnecessary repairs to the house. Well done!

I had Norfolk Air Htg & Cooling come out for an assessment / quote for some minor work. Turns out…read morethey are insanely expensive compared to some other licensed HVAC companies. $89 just for the site visit, which the tech said could NOT BE APPLIED to their cost of work. Their quotes were ridiculous. $358 to clear 2 condensate lines. $287 to add a condensate drain joist strap. $358 to replace 6 feet of insulated flex duct. All very accessible. Another company came out the next day and INCLUDED in their $99 site visit they cleaned out both condensate lines. Their quote for the remaining work was less than half what Norfolk Air Htg Cooling quoted, and the technician was far more friendly and explained things very well (I'm an engineer in 4 fields). The only positive was that Norfolk Air Htg & Cooling was very responsive -- same-day for a non-emergency. (but the other company was also just as responsive)

Jorge and Brian have been…read moreperforming routine maintenance on my unit for the last few years, after I initially called Chesapeake Heating & Air Conditioning because my 1-year-old unit was blowing warm air, and I thought it had already died or had a major Freon leak. Brian walked in, took a look at the unit and said he knew EXACTLY what the problem was five seconds later. He saw the float valve was popped up on the drainage tube (which I didn't even realize was something I needed to be on the lookout for ). He cleaned out the drainage tube and the rest of the unit for good measure, and I appreciated both the quick assessment, resolution, and education he gave me on maintenance during that visit. I signed up for their twice-yearly maintenance package that day, and I've been a happy subscriber ever since. Jorge has come to do the maintenance the last couple of times, and he is thorough and equally as knowledgeable as Brian. When he had a concern about the air flow coming out of one of the vents, he was quick to volunteer to crawl under the house to take a look at the duct work, and I really appreciated his honest assessment of it. The insulation is starting to fall down and wear out, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I could save up a few more years before the ductwork would probably actually need full replacing, and he gave me a ballpark figure based on the square footage and number of vents in my house, so I can plan accordingly. Much appreciated!! A company that employs people with such knowledge and integrity is a company that will have my business for decades to come. Their twice-yearly maintenance for heating and air conditioning is easily one of the best (and surprisingly affordable!) investments I make each year. Worth every penny!
