I found After Hours Heating & Cooling on Angie's list and selected Brian (owner) to repair my a/c unit. He does not advertise on TV or radio and doesn't offer silly advertisements but, if you find him, you will be a customer for life like me! I am not related to Brian nor have I never met him before today. The other reviews are completely accurate about Brian. His service is outstanding. His prices are fair. He cares about his customers. He has a tireless work ethic. He is a man of faith. Here is my story. I decided to contact Brian for a second quote after another company quoted me a price of $1,600 for parts and labor to replace my inside evaporator coil of my Lennox a/c system. I called Connie (Office Manager) this morning and she assured me Brian would come to my home today! When Brian showed up at my house, he was polite, put booties on inside my home, and explained the service costs up front for my approval prior to troubleshooting the issue with my a/c. Here is the bottom line so read this closely. BRIAN COMPLETED THE A/C REPAIR; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE WAS NOT A LEAKING EVAPORATOR COIL THAT THE OTHER COMPANY QUOTED ME BECAUSE BRIAN FOUND A LEAK IN THE OUTSIDE LINE! BRIAN SAVED ME $1,100 AND FIXED THE REAL PROBLEM WHILE THE OTHER COMPANY TRIED TO RIP ME OFF EVEN THOUGH THE OTHER COMPANY CLAIMS TO BE THE OLDEST OPERATING HVAC COMPANY IN HAMPTON ROADS! I am also one who uses reviews but rarely leaves my own. But I had to after the level of service and care After Hours Heating and Cooling showed me! I came home to a very warm house and an AC unit that was not turning on at all. I called on a Saturday evening and Connie answered the phone right away. She asked me a series of trouble shooting questions to help assess what was going on. She was able to get a technician out to me within an hour of my call. Brian was checked out all areas before trying to diagnosis the issue and move on. I have to admit I am someone who ask a whole lot of questions to understand what the issue was and ensure that I am comfortable with the resolution. Brian answered every question and even checked back with me for understanding on what he was explaining. He was able to have my system back up and running within an hour. The price was extremely reasonable especially knowing it was a Saturday night!!! He was not pushy with PM service and telling me what else I needed to have done as other services have been in the past. I did ask about and he provided pricing quotes and what they offer but in a conversational way not a salesman way! I have already shared this company information with my family and friends and I will never have to look for another heating cooling system and just hope for the best because this company is amazing! 8/3/2018 Our AC has not worked all summer, I was told it was unfixable so we have been getting estimates, last week I was driving to have lunch with a friend and talking to God about finding the right company for the job when I looked right in front of me was this work truck with the name AFTER HOURS HEATING AND COOLING. I said GOD, could it be this easy is this you, so I wrote down the number and called and spoke to Connie, told her that we needed an estimate and 2 hours later Brian was sitting at my house. He was easy to talk to Professional to the max, I was so impressed with him that we signed an agreement on the spot. He said his guys would come out at 8 am, at 7:30am my doorbell rang and there they were, ON TIME man was I impressed they did all the duct work throughout the house in record time, I couldn't sing their praises more Brian I am very Thankful you run such a professional crew for 3 days they were running back and forth getting it done and everyday Brian checked in BY coming or calling what a SERVICE. I came home today and they were done, finished and boy what a difference AC At last it was WONDERFUL. If I could give you 100 star rating, Brian you and your crew have it. H Pennypacker 1 review 13 minutes ago Had an issue with my furnace..the blower wouldnt come on. We've had this issue four times in the four years we've had the furnace (brand new install by a different company in late 2014). Randomly chose After Hours H&C as I had no idea who else to call, along with being so mad that this was hapoening again with this furnace I really had no patience to browse listings. I rang the companie around 930AM and spoke to the recptionist. She was helpful and gave me two different time slots to choose from for service. The service guy, Brian, contacted me and explained he was going to be late due to an issue he was having. I'll admit, the two hour delay had me rather annoyed. However, Brian finally showed up, was apologetic for said delay, listened to me explain the issue w/o interrupting, knew exactly what the issue was before even opening the door of the furnace, and had it fixed within less than a minute. It turned out to be the same issue we've had the three other times ive had to call for "repair". Brian (and this company) we're fairly priced, friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. We will be using this company--and preferrably Brian--for our yearly maintence/service from now on. Thank you for being an honest company thats fairly priced. Called today since my AC unexpectedly went out; with a smart thermostat I was at a loss really of where to begin. From the phone call on, I can't say enough good things. The person who took my call (I apologize for not remembering your name ma'am) was courteous, professional, and was able to get my repair request in...and magic happened and I was able to get a same day service appointment. Brian showed up and I again cannot say enough about how smoothly everything went from start to finish. He took time to explain everything, was transparent about costs, went over the options with me, and had an overall great attitude as well as patience in showing me various parts and pieces to what he was working on. I will be calling them back for the recommended other things in a few weeks, and will be asking for Brian again! Compared to other places I'd checked out they were super quick to respond, the cost was way better than the initial from the phone site unseen prices I'd gotten, and the experience was awesome, which isn't usually the case when you have a major unexpected thing go wrong! They removed our old HVAC equipment and installed the shiny new system on one of the hottest days of the year. They worked efficiently and "non-stop" from the minute they arrived. And, they were conscientious about our home and furnishings...they left no trash behind. We know that AFTER HOURS delivered exactly as they promised. We highly recommend them! Sitting here in our nice warm house on this cold night writing this review. Called these guys on Saturday afternoon around 3:00 pm, Our heating system had stopped working. We were thinking we might have to wait until Monday to get a service tech out. NOPE! They answered my called promptly, got a professional service tech to the house in about 1 hour! on the weekend! he QUICKLY diagnosed the problem, even had a replacement part on his truck (and we have a 30 year old heat pump), installed the part in about 15 minutes at a reasonable price (for weekend 1 hour service!) DID NOT try to rip us off by trying to sell us another unit that we did not currently need even though it is an older unit. The lady that took my call at their office was very friendly and helpful. My son called us because his HVAC (which was installed in 2004) was not working and it was during one of the coldest days this winter. He was at work so he was not able to search for a company who could come out quickly. I searched online and found Chesapeake Heating & Air Conditioning. I called near the end of a business day and the phone was answered promptly. They were able to set up an appointment the next morning. Brian Overton arrived as promised, diagnosed the situation, and they were able to perform the repairs within 48 hours. There were some extra issues with the system, and Brian was able to take care of the issues at no additional cost. We hired Chesapeake Heating and AC to completely replace our HVAC system, including ductwork. I could not be more pleased with the entire experience. There were no unexpected problems, up-charges, or delays. Everyone that came to my home was considerate and hardworking. Brian (the owner) worked with me to find the right system for my house and I never felt like he was trying to gouge me. In fact, he saved me many thousands of dollars compared to the exact same system from another company. I really like that this is a family owned business and that they operate with honest principles. We called several companies when our A/C stopped working on a Friday afternoon. (One of the hottest days of the year.) We called this company and the best they could do was Saturday 2 pm to 6 pm. So we plugged our portable A/C in and awaited a LONG night. But Brian came to the rescue. He not only came on FRIDAY night but fixed everything quickly with no overcharging. Very impressed. We are leaving for vacation to Spain on Saturday Aug 11. Our AC decided to quit on Wednesday August 8. We were in a panic trying to get it fixed before our vacay. Called Connie when our AC wasn't kicking on one evening. Had a tech out first thing in the morning! They staff is very professional and courteous and found the issue! My unit was sending a bunch of different symptoms of issues and in middle of the job, we found out the real issue which saved us a lot of money! I have a feeling any other company would have continued replacing the parts and charged the original quote. Most other places I talked to wanted almost double with what After Hours quoted. Had woke up to my house being cold to the point where i could see my breath. I called and was able to get an appointment made within that same morning which was awesome. Hvac was fixed and i even learned something from the guy about my system. Really knowledgeable, and will be straight up about whats gonna happen and what could also happen if there is more than one issue once the first issue is fixed.
