Our 2nd time to this location. We normally go to the one in Jefferson. Probably 1 of the top rudest staff I ever encountered. I was hunched down on my knees, looking at books on the very bottom shelf. Not an easy feat when your over 55 yrs old. While I was looking, a heard a "excuse me" above me. A employee standing over me. So I said "yes?" And all she said was "excuse me" again and made some hand gestures. So apparently she wanted to put more books on the shelf above me, never-ending the other 5 other shelves of books they had. Not even a thankyou or anything. Just a snotty look. We wont be back this location anytime soon. read more

Red White and Blue Thrift has gone completely downhill under the so-called "management" of Samantha Green. To put it bluntly, Samantha Green is by far the worst General Manager I have ever encountered anywhere--and I'm not the only one who thinks so. She has zero respect for customers and clearly doesn't care about the people who shop or work there. The energy she brings to the store is downright toxic. Every time I've come in, I've witnessed her either having an attitude with customers, talking down to them, or flat-out belittling them for shopping at a thrift store--as if she doesn't work there herself! The hypocrisy is shocking. Her nasty attitude, constant rudeness, and cruel behavior create an environment that feels unwelcoming and uncomfortable. I've personally heard her make snide comments about the customers right after they leave, mocking people for buying donated clothes, and treating them as if they're beneath her. It's disgusting, it's classless, and frankly, it's just mean-spirited. On top of that, she's lazy and unhelpful. If you need assistance? Forget it. Samantha Green will either ignore you or make you feel like you're bothering her by simply asking a question. She brings no professionalism, no warmth, and no leadership. In short: Samantha Green is an unkind, bitter, and unprofessional manager who is dragging down the entire Red White and Blue Thrift experience. The store could be great with the right leadership, but until they replace her, expect to be treated poorly. Red White and Blue: You need to find a new manager. Samantha Green is not only bad for business--she is bad for basic human decency and completely out of alignment with the values your store is supposed to represent. Samantha Green is a nasty, evil presence who is destroying Red White and Blue from the inside out. Until she is gone, this store will continue to rot under her. Wake up. Get rid of this woman. This place has pretty good selection and offers well loved goods at a fair price. My husband found a rip-stick for only $8! Ive always found decent tops for a fair price. However; It's not very clean, the bathrooms are always locked it seems, and employees attitudes seem to be hit or miss in the few times I've shopped here. Very nice things but for second hand overpriced

Loved this thrift shop! We visited NOLA from California, this shop was suggested on a Facebook group. This place is huge! They have so many cool things; from clothing, to home decor, love it. I was interested in purchasing things for Mardi Gras as we have a small little parade where we live, found nice Mardi Gras tshirts, a ton of beads, lots of accesories and also came home with some home decor. read more

They have a large selection of every category: shoes in most colors, purses, clothing, household goods and toys and they have employees putting out more items while they are open. The set up is easy to browse. They offer discounts of 25%-75% on multiple tag colors but each time I've went which is twice red tags have not been on sale and most of the items I bought had red tags. This location takes cards as the other location I went to was only taking cash but maybe it changed. read more

Super huge thrift store. I much prefer to come here than goodwill. Good pricing on unique finds. It can be a little overwhelming when you first walk in just because the store is that big. It's located in a huge strip center so plenty of parking spaces. There weren't that many staffing working the floor and that's probably due to covid , but there's enough cashiers to keep the line flowing. I will definitely be back. read more

I am updating and bumping up to five stars because this thrift store has become my first stop whenever I am looking for something from clothing to cheap electronics. Over the past year I have found multiple working, great condition Polaroid cameras for a photographer friend of mine for $4 a piece. These cameras can be resold online for good bucks- score! I have found multiple dresses brand new with tags that I was able to snag for less than $10. I have found collectible gifts for next to nothing that cost WAY more online and that friends will cherish for a lifetime. Just today a found a practically brand new denim jacket for $6. If you aren't a regular thrift store shopper, I know you are rolling your eyes, but trust me- you will be surprised what you find here. I constantly see brand new items for men and women that are selling at a steal. I wouldn't go so far as to buy swimsuits or shoes here (that's where I draw the line), but when I need a new dress for a casual event, this spot is always my first (and usually only) stop. read more

Well organized, good prices, shopped here for years and donate regularly. Importantly, it is for a good cause. You just have to be willing to shop with the kind of people like this morning: woman who got in line in front of me, then turned around and yelled past me, and an elderly lady with a full basket, "Tonisha! Tonisha! Where my f%%^** basket at? Crazy a#% b#%^. Come up here. Get past these people. F%^^!!" At which point, Tonisha indeed started pushing her cart past everyone in front of her, including the elderly lady with the full basket who had to maneuver out of the way, all the while being cursed out by this woman. Over priced, highly opinionated management, don't care about customer, employees, what they are selling, safety, cleanliness, and condition of store. That have and continue to change tags on items, price items at eBay highest (for sale). You can ask question but they don't answer or just don't care. Management has a high turnover, and poor treatment of employees. Unclean store and they don't care. They price Coach, Michael Kors purses (knock off), Nike shoes for $300+. This is right outside my neighborhood! I always noticed trucks labeled Vietnam Veteran of America with a phone number on it so I decided to call them to donate. I called to arrange a pickup and to my surprise it brought me to the Red, white, and blue. I had wayyyyy too many boxes and bags to make multiple trips so their truck service came in handy! The lady that was helping me set up the appointment for pick up and told me to leave everything on my porch. I had to make sure to label it VVA. She was familiar with my house because her son lives 3 houses down. Great people and easy to work with. read more

Thrifting is my absolute favorite way to shop and this is my local thrift store. I remember shopping here with my mom as a kid. They have moved locations since then but it's still great! This one isn't as big as the one in Harahan but I still usually find great items at a reasonable price. I just wish they had dressing rooms. read more

If there was a time I wish I had hit "record" on my phone before stepping out of the car on Sept 24th this was it! The lady standing in the back first made it clear that she was the mgr- then the unprovoked rant began. She went on and on about how their customers could care less about the employees and how after hurricane IDA people were just bringing in damaged/wet goods. We assured her that the things we had were not and had never been wet but we would be happy to donate elsewhere if that was what she was getting at. She started barking orders to the few guys around her to get everything out of the car & the entire time she continued to complain on how mistreated they were. After we left and we're trying to figure out what the heck had just happen we wondered if that was maybe her way to get us to offer them money as a tip or something- SAD experience. read more

We were longtime thrifters all those years we lived in NYC. Now that we've re-lo'ed to NOLA, Ric and I are ever on the lookout in our new home for chances to score cool stuff at cheapola prices. Some nurses on lunch break having boiled shrimp at our fave gumbo place turned us on to RW & B 'down the road'. Then driving by, I caught the name Thrift Store out of the corner of my eye. Walking in was something else. Decibels at madhouse, people pushing carts around, PA system advising of deals, shoppers on a very long line. A swarm of activity. And why not? It turned out to be a great store. We were overwhelmed at first by the sheer size and variety of items. So we slowed down to a browse and just sunk into it...Being from NY, it is not often that we ever saw toddlers and kids in a store. Lively, energetic, all over the place...families shopping had brought their young 'uns. Which we actually enjoyed, bigtime. One of our finds: a heavy iron fry pan, inside grill ridges, pouring lips. In fine condition, barely used (I wiped and oiled to season it, when we got home). It was half price day, so I think that baby was...$5.00? And a half dozen nested, square/oblong restaurant weight metal storage tins. A night shirt for me, a book for Ric. All told, it set us back maybe $30.00. Money well spent. No dressing rooms, so I recommend wearing a sleeveless shirt and leggings so you can try on clothes over them. There's a full length mirror on the back wall that you can use to view your potential purchases. Clothes are for the most part clean and free of pit stains. In fact, I immediately put on a newly purchased shirt and wore it all day long before washing. More spacious than its previous location near Barataria Blvd. Also less odoriferous than its previous location. read more

They are all fairly clean, well organized and have things individually priced with colored tags that get discounted on a regular basis. Large store. Wide variety, with an occasional gem. Most items priced a little higher than competition. Staff will expect you to jump out of their way if you're "interfering " with the stockers, and can't be bothered to give sales details over the phone. Sale details are posted in the store on a very inconvenient digital sign interspersed with numerous advertisements, requiring several minutes of staring to determine what is and isn't on sale. Occasionally rude to customers. No returns on defective merchandise. Long lines at check out. Will prompt you to leave 15 minutes before closing time. If you're very close by, potentially worth a stop. read more

Yes, the new location is open! I feel like it's not laid out as intuitively as the previous west bank RW&B location, but there's actually room for people to line up and check out here, without blocking the entire dresses section. I hesitate to tell you for fear of word getting out, but I think the selection on the west bank tends to be less picked-over than at the RW&B in Harahan. I always find good stuff at reasonable prices at all their locations, and although it's usually a madhouse on Saturdays, I like the 50% off everything-except-one-tag-color sale. Cash only, no dressing rooms. This new location is more convenient than the previous one (further out Lapalco) if coming across the CCC and possibly stopping by Thrift City USA in Terrytown on the way. Maybe less convenient if taking the Huey P from the east bank RW&B, though. You know, if you're making a whole day of it. read more

This place is so cool! First off, it's massive with tons of inventory. Definitely check out the giant shoe selection and the clothes too. There are also housewares, kids items, and assorted other weird thrifty stuff. It's cash only, but there's an atm next to the cash register. read more

I'm so glad I live close to this store. It is huge! So even if you don't find anything it is fun to waste time and look through it all. Organized by color, mainly. I like. There is racks and racks of clothes and household items, luggage and pillows and comforters, and things are priced accurately to their quality. You can come across some expensive items, that would send you into a heart attack at another thrift store, but it is still cheap in comparison to buying new from a retail store. 100% wool trench coat for $6? I'm sold. I wish they had a dressing room but it's a small price to pay. My advice is to look your clothes up and down for stains, tears, etc. You get what you pay for. CASH only! read more

Great place for clothes and odds and ends. No dressing room, cash only. Staff are friendly and very helpful, but are kept very busy and seem overworked. They seem stressed about management pushing them to stay busy every second. Some things are overpriced. They MARK prices or codes in black marks-a-lot on several items, even furniture! This is my favorite thrift shop in the area. It is HUGE and its isolated location on the westbank means you dont have to deal with the volume of crowds that hit the jefferson highway location of this store. downside is there are no fitting rooms, so come prepared to make best judgment calls and wear form fitting clothes to try things on over. read more

Always crowded, smelly, and over-priced. If you want to drive around back to donate be prepared for lazy employees who will be rude if you "look different" than they do. I stopped shopping here a few yrs ago, and now I am going to stop donating here as well. While I believe in the cause, the terrible treatment is not worth it. I hesitate between three and four stars because there are things I love and hate about this store. Most importantly, they have an awesome selection of fairly nice clothing at reasonable prices. As an added bonus, they are color coordnated and broken down into categories so if I am looking for a certain piece or want to 'dress up' my wardrobe, this is my first choice in second hand. For this, they are the best thrift store in New Orleans and deserve 5 stars. Sadly, these great bargins don't necessarily extend to all the items. Although their selection of shoes and purses is outstanding, that's probably because the prices can be up to 75% of retail (in used condition!) The same applies to their accesories and decorative items. Lastly, I took off a whole star because the entire store permeates an atmosphere of hostility. The restrooms are always locked, cashiers are curt almost to the point of being rude, and the constant overhead announcements are abominal. I do not want to hear messages about watching my children, no-return policy, not bothing stockers,etc while I am trying to get my fashionista on. It's very unwelcoming and makes me want to dash back out the front door. read more

Just moved to the area. Found this place on the Internet. Went on a Saturday morning. Was jammed pack with bargain hunters. Which is always a good sign for a thrift store. Found my way to the back of the store to the stuffed animal wall. Sign said. 3.95 each. Buy one get one free. Score!!! Snagged up a retro vintage monkey and my husband grabbed a gorilla. He collects primates. Found a bar stool to match 2 we already have and made our way to the check out. Long line the length of the store. 3 cashiers. Still no worries. Get to the check out the cashier started to ring the stuffed animals up separately. I pointed out the sign that was also posted behind the registers. She said it was for the prebagged stuff animals. I pointed out that is not what it said. She rolled her eyes and asked if I wanted a manager. I said yes I do. The manager came and repeated what the cashier had stated. I again pointed out that is not what her sign which was posted said. She rolled her eyes and said I made announcements. I stated I didn't hear her announcements. I could see reading and English comprehension was not their forte. So i said I don't want any of my purchase and that posting a sign advertising one thing and then not complying was highly illegal and unethical. I won't be back. In a day and age when a streetcorner vendor can swipe my debit card on his IPhone Isee no reason why I should be forced to use a $2.50 ATM or remeber to bring cash with me. Be carfull what you buy. They will sell damaged goods at high price, torn up furniture and broken electronics are common. There are old and used items all over the store priced at new retail or just few dollars under. Clothes seem to be a good value and they have a large and well organized selection. read more
