Being…read morea former student of AoPS, I know just about all that students go through: from a welcome greeting at the front desk to a joyous farewell by their teacher, AoPS is truly all that any student could ask for. All classes are packed with plenty of humor to satisfy one while still learning useful skills. I just have to say that Mr. Matthew Smith and Ms. Katie Doles are two very great teachers that I would recommend. Simply put, AoPS does not believe in the philosophy that a student can learn just by having a textbook placed in front of them. No, a student must learn through appropriate engagement and interaction. For example, a 5th-grade language arts student can expect to relive the Titanic sinking in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean (and also learn more about the White Star Line) while also flying high into the air to discover the tragic death of Amelia Earhart. And there is no right or wrong answer, as students can form their own assumptions! Simply put, AoPS is super fun and I hope readers will be propelled into the AoPS family by this review!

The test they let us take home to learn further was well done. In fact, all the curriculum we have seen from Art of Problem solving, the math publisher, including the Beast Academy math curriculum for grades 2-5 is top notch. We homeschool so ended up embracing the curriculum ourselves rather than signing up for a year at Art of Problem Solving, but I have never been so impressed with math curriculum as we were with Beast Academy 2 to 5 - the guide books (a.k.a. comic book style text books my kids loved to role play), the practice books (a.k.a. workbooks for each chapter with increasingly challenging math problems that make you think and really get math logically, not just bang out calculations), and then the Beast Academy online portion. My kids range in age from 22 (a college grad computer science major from a highly selective university) to a 20 year old intended math major on full merit scholarship at another highly selective university, on down to 8 years old. My 8 and 10 year old are doing this curriculum and adore it. I considered being a math major but have learned new ways to think about math and numbers. We are picky consumers, but loved this so much, we think every family should try it - your kids will learn to love math if they don't already, and we should be spokespeople for this awesome company and curriculum.

They have a part-time counselor there who is an intern from NCSU. Tuition is high because class sizes are kept small to provide individualized attention. Friends of Trilogy is the support side of the school (this PTA) which assists in creating community and assists parents in their Trilogy journey including how to fud their student's education. I can't say enough good things about the school and want to give a shout out to Ann Ashby who is beyond amazing.

Tamra is extremely knowledgeable regarding myriad services for children and adults and is an amazing asset to families and our community. I am a single mother of 4 here in Wake County and 2 of my children are severely autistic with other differences including sensory processing issues and pica. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Tamra when she was assigned as my child's case manager during her tenure at the CDSA (Children's Developmental Services Agency). Tamra helped me with services for my child and also gave me a lot of advice for my other child that was already in the school system with an IEP. Tamra can help with guidance during IEP meetings and advocate for your child and I can tell you from my personal experience, she will treat your child/children as if they were her own. Tamra was even attentive and answered questions for my 2 children that don't have special needs, but were learning along with me. Tamra is very professional, attentive, determined and I promise you, you would not regret having her help you navigate the complex world of disabilty services, the school system and acquiring other services. I was extremely overwhelmed when we first met because both of my children had just been diagnosed, but Tamra took us under her wing and made me feel so much more confident and comfortable with the processes. My children love Tamra and her family....it was funny because when she started working with us we found out she literally lived in the same subdivision. Tamra's family has become framily (friends that are pretty much family).....because when people go above and beyond and do so much for your family.....they often become just like family and you develop a deep connection and respect. I am so proud of Tamra for making this leap into consulting and starting her own business and I am also so extremely thankful that our community has her. One of the…read moreteacher has full of the passion but another teacher is just doing a job...She is very cool...a kind of "Time out" person...Time out is a kind of punishment for young kids who can't describe what they want and think clearly. Very disappointed. My kid now enrolling another daycare, she love it and wants go there every day. No tears. They don't push any kids to do something they don't like. It's real self-choice to play what they want to.

HMCS was a 4 star at that time and I was still more impressed them than the other schools, including the ones with 5 star ratings. HMCS is now rated as a 5 star. The directors/teachers actually care about each student and it shows. The location is convenient, but right next to a gas station. At first I thought it was kind of an ugly view from the playground, but there are bushes and the kids don't seem to think twice about the surroundings outisde of the playground anyway.

She is also accessible and that is very important to parents and grandparents. My grandson adores her as well as my husband and I. As grandparents raising our grandson, we are obviously older and more attuned to his needs. We are raising him to be respectful, courteous, and mannerly, and we want him to be treated the same by others. Sterling is an exceptional school for academics and quality of day to day learning experiences for children. it performs in the top of NC schools. My children's teachers are nurturing and pedagogically skilled. Independence is facilitated in children, curiosity is valued, opportunities for practice to master content are a priority and drive achievement. Montessori pedagogy supports engaging teaching and learning based in the ways children actually developmentally acquire knowledge. Parents are involved, classrooms are beautiful, well resourced and organized. It's a healthy learning environment (better than most) and I am saying this from being in more than my share of schools on the east coast for over a decade.
