The 'coach' arrived close to the appointed time, the driver asks me my name and doesn't require me to produce the ticket on my phone, which is great, because I can't seem to get the IPHONE to do what it needs. I sat in a single seat which is just great;whatever the movie, I slept thru it and would love to have gotten off in Fort Lauderdale and explored, but since friends were meeting me in Palm Beach, at a stop which is sort of right on the thruway (Oasis). But we got there, only a wee bit late and I really can't complain-the price is right and the people were find companions.Also someone got on who had to buy a ticket right then, which is a good thing to know....Guess my ride was too short for the free snack box (see review by Carolyn...).Just kidding. I am very disappointed at RedCoach service. We bought 2 two-way "First Class" tickets from Miami to Tallahassee for the April 22nd weekend. The Miami-Tallahassee leg had no incident aside from a driver using his cell phone too often for comfort and an inaccessible bathroom. The Tallahassee-Miami leg (Transaction Code: AP1PE4A459BB / Tickets 496645, 496647) had a BIG problem. At the Orlando headquarters, all the passengers in our bus were taken off ("debused?") to the station and after a half-hour wait were directed to board another vehicle (#3802) that clearly was no "First Class", as paid. No explanations. No excuses. No compensation. Sits were way narrower and harder; less leg space, no tables, and outlets had no electricity. On top of that, the vehicle was a rattling relic. We felt treated like objects moved around without concern. I sincerely feel sorry for the hundreds of students that use that service regularly. I think that the bus ride itself was great, except for the air conditioning being way too cold. However, while on the phone with the guest service, the man talking did not understand what I meant and the line was then cut. Once I vad figured out how to book a trip with shuttles by myself, and arrived at the Orlando red coach station, the lady behind the desk was rude, and really seemed like she thought she had better things to do. The shuttle from Miami that they are using ( SuperShuttle) is AWFUL! the people are rude, and do not make me feel like a wanted Customer. read more

This is a great bus ride to certain places in Florida. The seats are really comfortable and you have a lot of leg room which is good too. If your traveling far I really recommend red coach. It's pretty affordable instead of driving yourself and spending gas money or renting a car take the red coach bus. Much more convenient. read more

I booked two "first class" from Miami Airport to Orlando station... in the first one from Miami. The power outlets didn't work at all no matter how many times the driver reset them. The bathroom was very nasty. The WiFi wasn't working. So I said: well that's bad but I think something was happening and I understand. But in the trip from Orlando to Miami Airport the weather was on 39 degrees and the Heater was broken... come on! "First class"??? Heater broken???! And by the way the schedule was at 5:50 and the driver was late he came at 6:20... where is the real first class. A year ago they usually be very punctual, every service worked. What's happening now? And the customer service? Awful. If I had known that before I would have chosen an economical bus line. This company is an absolute nightmare. I currently reside in Gainesville as a full time student and don't have the means or funds to take trips leisurely home to Miami. I was gifted some money to buy a ticket to see my father who is ill and this company takes my money without giving me a ticket. RedCoach's horrible customer service rep (Robert) told me that there's nothing he can do because the money that is clearly gone from my bank with their company name attached to it was denied. Robert kept on telling me in a disrespectful manner that he can't do anything about it since their system tagged my card as a denied charge. After asking him politely to see if maybe they can just go ahead and reverse it and just send me a confirmation for my bus ticket since they already have MY money. He proceeded to tell me its my fault and that I entered my information incorrectly..... which is absurd. How can that be if the money went through. Following up with my bank, they then tell me the money is on hold on their end. I was super disappointed by the service. :( I went in with good expectations because of all the reviews I saw here on yelp. The driver was rude and did not acknowledge me when I came up with one bag. One. I wasn't sure if I needed to put it in myself or if they had a special way of packing it, so it was awkward, and I'm from the South and was taught that it's rude to interrupt someone even if it's their job to help you. Then I thought, well, maybe he didn't see me. Maybe he's super distracted. Then he looked at me, AND TURNED HIS BACK to continue doing something with what looked like one sheet of paper (not sure what.) There were already passengers on board. I was there at 11:40 and the bus was scheduled to leave at noon, so I wasn't late. About nine minutes go by (I looked at my computer when I got on the bus and it was 12:49). I don't mind waiting. At this point I was just irritated that he didn't say something generic (I'll be with you in a min, w/e), or at least register that I existed. Another lady walked up behind me, which finally prompted him to move. He went PAST me to assist her first. When he spoke to me he wouldn't look at me directly and pointed at the bus once he'd thrown my bag in (literally). It was very strange, especially because I was being extremely patient and not trying to get his attention, even making excuses for his behavior in my head. I'm currently on the bus ride from Orlando to Miami and I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed. This company was advertised with first class propaganda. It spoke of having outlets (turns out there's only two at the very front), desks for your laptops (there are none), GPS tracking (no where to be found) and a comfortable ride. It is hot in here. I am sweating and when I told the driver that it was hot and if he could make it colder he was rude and promised that it would get colder. It has been 30 min and it is still just as hot. The display screens are broken and the seats are worn out. Not taking a bus ride from this company again. On the way up to Orlando from Miami, the bus arrived nearly an hour later than scheduled. Update: we're now stopping in ft. Lauderdale and the bus is still just as hot. When I went to I form the bus driver he laughed and told me to put my hand on the vent that's right next to him. It was blowing cold air. I told him that the rest of the bus was still really hot and he said "there's nothing I can do about it, ma'am. I have the air running through all the bus". Red Coach has really gone downhill. We have been using them to go to visit our daughter in Gainesville for several years. We stopped when Covid hit but decided to use them again for Christmas this year as we are in our 80's and don't want to drive. When we got to the Red Coach station in Orlando Florida we were informed there is no longer on property parking! We would have to use an airport parking lot and shuttle which would make us miss the bus. We were not informed and it is not on their website. We worked something out but the bus was old and freezing cold. On the way back another old cramped bus that rattled so much I couldn't read. My seat was broken and there was gum stuck on my seat belt. First heat was blasting and then air. A long step off the bus without a step stool send shock waves up my leg and my knee hurt for 3 days and is still swollen. My husband says he will never use them again. What a shame. It used to be a nice comfortable ride. Oh and the wi-fi didn't work either. Miserable trip and definitely not for the elderly. Oh and no ID was required. Just asked our names. read more

I had the WORST experience with Red Coach. We waited for 45 minutes at the bus stop while the bus was parked in front of us and the driver would not talk to us. Finally, another bus company was used as a substitute. The sub bus was dirty and old. The bus drove around the Miami airport for ONE HOUR and picked up another driver in a nearby lot. We arrived in Naples 2.5 hours late. The worst part about the trip was that no one communicated to the passengers what was happening. The entire experience was stressful and confusing. I'm so angry right now. My mother is coming into town tomorrow for the birth of my child. She is unable to drive on her own and utilizes red coach when she needs to see me. She bought a first class ticket leaving at 12 to arrive at 5pm and randomly received an email that her bus was canceled and changed to 3pm. No explanation. She called and all they said was"atleast your riding first class." Screw you she paid for first class and now may miss the birth of her first grandchild because of this companies lack of customer service. So, I cancelled my tickets (Standard Fare) 10 days prior to my departure. I repeat...10 DAYS prior to my departure. Not 3 days, 24 hours, or even just before the 3 hour hard cutoff...10 DAYS. They still took the 30% service charge. What is that service charge for??? They literally did nothing. I even sent them an email to ask about tickets because I only got a copy of the invoice emailed to me and never got a reply. This is the biggest scam ever. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My 17 year old daughter was traveling to Ocala to visit her aunt. The driver never alerted the passengers that Ocala was coming up, and seemed to have not stopped at all. My sister waited over an hour and the bus never stopped. My daughter called my crying that when she asked the driver, he confused her and told her to sit down. She was held hostage on that bus until Gainesville. The person on the phone I had the displeasure of dealing with told me that they'd be arriving in Gainesville at 2 pm - but when we spoke it was already 2:55. NEVER AGAIN. Stay away. Yeah, its cheaper than most alternatives, but as always you get what you pay for. This is the second time I go on a bus with no A/C, and it is a sauna in here. The office knows about this issue and they don't seem to care. If that wasn't hot enough the bathroom is scorching hot, like literally 100+ degrees with no running water, I can't imagine a woman using it. They say they offer free wifi, but good luck using it to do anything at all because it sucks. They say they offer free entertainment, but I haven't seen the TV be used on even one of my multiple trips. The seats are tight unless you have the whole row to yourself, and the outlets don't work sometimes. The ride is bumpy and the buses aren't cleaned very well. My daughter is a student at UF and Redcoach is pretty much 1of 2 options students have to come home. You are paying a hefty price but according to the website, the seats are roomy, you have leg room, an outlet to charge your phone or laptop, free WiFi,... but mid way they had all the passengers change from 1 bus to another and that 2nd bus DID NOT have the same seats, no legroom, no WiFi,...On the way back to UF, Redcoach subcontracted with Viking tour buses and it was utter chaos. Students name were not showing up on the drivers manifest, you were told your bus is running late, no one knew what was going on. No one had answers,... my daughter arrived 3 hours after her original arrival time. Those other students that waited even longer, who knows what time they arrived. WARNING!!! Ride at your own risk. The bus rides are inconsistent and the customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. I was a first time customer with this company and I will definitely never take these buses again. I had a round trip from West Palm Beach to Tallahassee and back. To start off my first bus ride was a nightmare. A literal living hell. First, the bus was 20 mins late after they told me to arrive 20 mins early. When the bus finally arrived the driver seemed like he hated his job making slick remarks and having an overall bad attitude. When I got onto the bus it was packed like sardines in a can. I thought I would have an assigned seat like they advertise by choosing your bus seat on the website but when I got on the bus there were almost no seats left. On top of the the seats were very uncomfortable and the reclining seats they advertise in the website no where to be found. My trip was 8 hours and 2 hours into the bus ride the air conditioning stopped working. I thought maybe we would get a new bus after making a stop at the RedCoach headquarters in Orlando but no. Only a change in bus drivers. So for another 6 hours I rode in a hot humid overpacked bus with a miserable driver and even more miserable passengers. Furthermore, I received an email that my bus back to West Palm Beach would be 2 hours late which I didn't mind but I was a little concerned as to why so I called customer service. When I asked the representative about the delay she had no clue what I was talking about. After giving her my information she told me to call back in 10 mins and she would have confirmation. I called back and still had no idea what was going on so she just told me to arrive at the bus stop at the 2 hour delay and I will go from there. I arrived and at first the bus driver was very rude saying that was not my bus and would not let me on. There was another passenger in the same situation as me who was treated just as bad. After a 10 minute phone call with his boss the bus driver finally let me and the other passenger onto the bus. This was such a waste of time. I will admit the second bus ride was slightly better with less people on board and the air conditioning working the entire ride. I will say maybe if the first bus ride was the same as the second I wouldn't be writing this review but it's the constancy that matters. Even then the customer service is what made things worse. I used to ride with Redcoach multiple occasions from Miami to Tallahassee. The last time I traveled a round trip from Miami to Gainesville and the service was worth 1 star. The bus driver drove recklessly, swerving, cursing and honking every 20 minutes. The bus came 1 hour and 30 minutes late. And as a final disservice the company didn't apologize or compensate for their late departure and arrival. Honestly for the cost of it, Redcoach is NOT worth it. Beware of what you see on the website. Family had traveled ahead to Orlando for a Soccer tournament and I trying to catch up because I had to work. Website looked great. Unfortunately not the case; bus was about 10 minutes late, no big deal. However, it smelled and was dirty. Cans on the floor, trash in various seats and on the floor; shades were broken leaving the the sun to blind you as it was setting. Some seats would not recline or adjust. Finishing a Tallahassee to Miami trip as I type this. Tallahassee to Orlando was fine. Good driver, everything was on time. Arrived at the Orlando facility for what we were told was a 20-minute layover. An hour later we were finally back on the road. Got the impression the new driver wasn't paying attention. Once on the road the new driver was either eating or on the phone for almost the entire 4+ hour leg. Bus was consistently drifting onto the side rumble strips. At the Palm Beach stop there wasn't anyone to get on or off but instead of making up time, the driver went and got some KFC. Someone also lit up the bathroom and I guess the AC draws from there because the whole bus smelled horrible way before the door even opened. read more

I never travelled long distance on a bus but took a leap of faith, since i no longer like driving and based on their website, it looked like a great proposition to travel to Atlanta and arrive fresh in morning. NOT. First of, we get an email that bus is 2 hour late. We got the email at 12:30 am. I decided to give it a benefit of doubt and waited until 3am and kept waking up every 30 minute to see if the bus arrived. It never did and finally i left at 3am since i had no idea if the bus will ever come. I was fooled by their slick website. Then i read the review, OMG, late arrival was the norm. Customer service was also useless, they could not tell us where the bus was and when the bus will actually come. Don't even try this useless company. Can't believe how many negative reviews there are here. Maybe I got lucky, but my trip was on time and comfortable. I left early morning on a weekend, so maybe this helped. It was cool outside too. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I felt the AC should have been colder and I had trouble buying a ticket online. The air from the AC vent was very weak. Because this vent can be opened/closed, I expect it to be stronger. When I tried to buy online, my card was rejected every time. I have made many purchases online using this card, so I know it is not a card issue. My guess is their online form is missing a field for Apartment Number. A website should not be having these issues in 2020. Other than this, everything was smooth and staff was very professional and helpful. read more

What I got was an old bus with the smell of urine from the porta potty and it made three stops to pick up people on a route from Tampa to Miami and did not stop at all to eat. 4.5 hour bus ride from Gainesville to WPB, FL was supposed to be 4.5 hours and the bus was supposed to have WIFI. I was sent a map that tracked my bus and pickup location. Of course the pickup was horribly incorrect and had to sprint to my bus only to see it leave 2 minutes after its scheduled arrival time. The first time I road with RedCoach they had the seats all mixed up on tickets (like me and 2 other people had the same seat on our ticket) and was very unpleasant having people get up and switch for 5 minutes, but I let it go because I felt it was just unlucky. The bus was supposed to arrive at 7:15 pm but got to the Airport at 8:30 pm. No one sent a message or e-mail to alert customers even though they request that information at the time of reservation. The bus is not clean and smells like pee, and the restroom door does not close so it has been banging for the whole trip. I waited for more than a hour to get on the bus at the downtown station, the time passed to board and the employees at the station finally tells us," the bus went to the wrong station and had left me and about 9 other passengers. Red Coach sure gets mixed reviews! I travel from Tallahassee to Gainesville and back weekly, and have been using Greyhound and Megabus. I decided to try Red Coach today because the schedule is a little more convenient and the Tallahassee pick-up spot is slightly closer to home. This bus is comfortable (business class -- four seats across), reasonably close to on-time, friendly driver, WIFi works great, etc. The only thing that is bothering me is that the driver is spending almost the whole time chatting on his cell-phone, which I wouldn't think would be allowed in a commercial carrier bus. As far as I can tell this Red Coach costs twice as much as a web-purchased fare on Greyhound or Megabus, and to me the difference is not worth it. read more

I took this bus from Miami to Tampa as a last-minute plan when I was too late to buy my train ticket on Amtrak because it had already sold out (for Christmas Eve, no less). Drop off/pick up point was easy to find at the Miami Airport. The stop was located exactly as described. When I arrived about 15 min prior to departure time, there were a few people already there waiting. The bus arrived at 9:17, 7 min. after it was supposed to depart. Fortunately there were not a lot of passengers, so boarding was quick and we were on our way very soon after the bus arrived. The bus was very clean. I can't speak to the bathroom since I didn't use it. It has nice leather seats and lots of leg room. The overhead bin is the same size as a standard coach bus. The bus has two rows of seats: a double row and a single row. Each seat has a power outlet with two plugs. There is a plastic tray for food/beverage stored in front of you/attached to the seat behind you. However, the tray is not attached, so you basically sit it on your lap. There is no pull-out table or anything to rest your book, drink or laptop on. The seat has a seat belt that works. The windows have screens that can be raised. The ride was pretty smooth. The internet worked fine for the most part. The signal came and went a couple of times, but that's to be expected with wi-fi on a moving bus. It didn't require a password or anything; you just connect to it. There were 4 TV screens on the bus, but no movie was played (which was fine in my book). The bus was pretty quiet during my trip because there are only a handful of passengers on it. The bus driver also did not spend the entire ride on his cell phone, which is a very good thing. He made one or two brief calls, but that was it. When the driver pulled up, he didn't greet the passengers. He merely opened the door, got out and stood there with his clipboard. He did, however, put my bag in the luggage compartment below the bus. He didn't give any instructions and did not ask for my ID. I presented it right off the bat, though, so maybe that's why. But he didn't look at it. He asked me for my name and told me what seat I was on. He didn't make any announcements once we boarded or speak to the passengers at all, which isn't a deal-breaker, but isn't impressive, either. We stopped at the halfway point at a McDonald's. The bus driver told us we had 10 minutes and he did a head count before we left. The ride was smooth and uneventful -- both good things. We got to our destination about 7 minutes late, so the trip was as long as the schedule said it would be. It dropped us off in downtown Tampa right where it said it would alongside the Residence Inn Marriott. I gave it 4 stars only because it was slightly late and because there was no built-in table or magazine pouch in the seat, so it made it a bit uncomfortable to have anything out since everything had to sit on my lap. Overall, this was a great experience and I would absolutely recommend Red Coach as a comfortable, timely, inexpensive way to get from Miami to Tampa. I would definitely take it again. read more

I'm very very disappointed in this business, not only because of the many things I'm getting ready to list, but the deceptive advertising is over the top. I wasn't expecting too much because it's a bus ride, after all. I so wish that Florida would come up with an easier form a transportation to get to its capital from South Florida. But, since they haven't yet, I thought I'd give this bus a try. I booked my ticket on line and read about all of the wonderful things they offer and very much led me to believe it was a super luxurious bus by what they say and the pictures that they show. I'm going to say that maybe..... maybe...... they live up to 20 percent of what they claim. And don't get me wrong, you can run any business any way you like, but be honest when you tell folks about yourself. When they show beautiful tan leather seats, they certainly aren't in the bus I was on. They were black and ratty. They show two types of footrests. I had not footrest. They claim to have 110v plugs. My plug didn't work. I had to stretch my cord to the seat behind me. Fortunately, it had older folks who didn't use electronics. One big thing was that the bus driver didn't speak a lick of English. I could not communicate with her at all. She was only Spanish Speaking. Again, I don't mind any of this as long as I'm informed ahead of time so I can make an informed decision if I want to use this business. I can certainly tell you that, if I'm not able to communicate with the person who is in charge of my safety for the next 6 hours, I am not going to go down that road. When we arrived in Orlando, it was at one of their facilities. The driver stood up and started talking to everyone in Spanish. I have no idea what she said, but it was longer than the two words she managed for me, "ten minutes." That's what I got from her. Apparently, she explained to everyone else who probably spoke Spanish that they were to wait at the front entrance to be directed back on the bus. Well, I go inside, use the restroom, grab stuff from the vending machine and get back on the bus. Next thing you know, the driver is scolding me shaking her head motioning that I'm not supposed to be on the bus. Frustrating. Also, their rules say one carry-on and two checked bags. I followed the rules. I brought my purse as my carry-on. I also made assumptions that during a 6-hour ride stops would be made to refresh and grab some to-go food and use the restroom. We were allowed off the bus once in Orlando at their facilities. I was okay with that. Once is fine. However, there were two vending machines, one for chips and candy and crackers and one for soda. There was one toilet for women and one toilet for men. Line out the door to use them. Again, if I had been informed of this, I never would have gone on this bus. They led me to believe they offer bus nirvana. HaHa. With only one carry-on, I couldn't bring much in the way of refreshments or food. But when I got on the bus, numerous people had numerous bags of stuff per person. Go figure. Why have that rule??? Also they claim to be sticklers about seat assignments. I was in seat 1A. Wouldn't you know, someone had already taken my seat before I got on the bus. I had to ask him myself to move. I was embarrassed because he huffed and whined about it. But I chose that seat for a reason and because I had an option. But they are not sticklers about seat assignments, so you're going to have to protect your seat. Almost lastly, after the 7th phone call the buss driver got during the six hours she was transporting me, I finally got on a chat with the company and demanded that they get her off the phone. It was unbelievable. She was on the phone for hours. As the day went on, it got worse and worse. Her phone was ringing off the hook. On the website, they claim to have all of these cameras watching the bus drivers because they're so in to safety. Well, I can tell you, as many times as that lady was on the phone and they did see it???? Come on.... Another bit of false advertising. They do not put their passenger's safety first, for sure. Now, lastly, the interior of this bus had a layer of grime all over the inside. I truly don't believe they've every cleaned it. and an odd smell. These people have every right to run their business as they chose. What they don't have the right to do is falsely mislead potential passengers and deliberately put them at risk for God knows what kind of potential disease is lurking inside their buses and allowing their drivers to talk all day long on the phone. Fortunately, my trip is almost over. While writing this review, the driver received two more phone calls and this is after I was assured the problem had been dealt with. Deception is a bad bad thing. And there is a ton of it here. The only things that were positive was the bus was on time, the wifi worked and my seat reclined. That's it. read more
