My friend later took her car to there and without a mechanic even looking at it the female office manager or receptionist informed my friend it would be over $700 to have it fixed. My friend also got the impression that the women was smug and assumed she couldn't afford it. She obviously just wasn't pleasant to deal with. What I found alarming is that Sears said that a compressor would cost me $200-300. I know replacing the compressor is not that difficult of a job. I took the car to another shop and the whole job cost me $380. The A/C works great and I couldn't be happier. Obviuosly this place is out to rip off customers and I would find another shop to work with. BTW I took the car to Grant's Automotive in Carthage. I am extremely happy with the whole experience.

Walmart noticed I had a transmission leak, J&M said it would cost over $1000 to repair, so I got a 2nd opinion at Transmission Exchange and they fixed it for about 1/4 of that price. The fluid was leaking through the axle seals that J&M damaged. J&M has otherwise always given me good-quality low-priced labor
