Powderhorn is the perfect place to stay for a weekend to enjoy the world famous fishing or to stay a few months on a longer contract job. The community it's in is quite and friendly. Another bonus is that Mike the owner is always available with a hand shake and a smile. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in the Port LaVaca area now.

I will never do business with this asshole again. What he did was immoral. As much money as I've spent on bait and beer and his "ramp fees" in that rat-hole...well, if he would do this to me and my crew, he'll screw-over anybody he can. There are other choices in POC for bait and snacks and fuel...I'll use them from now on.

When I contacted him I asked if he did any trips besides wade fishing, he said he did not so I booked him for my last day. Showed up with dead bait. Gave us no info he got out of the boat waded past us, never was within 100 yards. Rods were junk, 1 was a tangled mess from the beginning. So me and my daughter fished with 1 rod. We caught a few fish nothing special, most were under size limits. Since I didn't know slots I kept them. The 2 that were within limits I told him to keep or set free. We were done with this guide within an hour and left. He didn't charge us, I would have never paid him anyway. Left a review on the site I booked him with and his response was he told me I wasn't the guide for him but I wanted to go anyway. So hes a liar on top of it all. Because wade fishing was exactly what I was looking for on my last day. I Also sent emails to customer service on the site I booked him on. Worst guide I have ever seen in my entire life. I have been on well over 200 guided hunting and fishing trips.
