Glad Redhook found a new home on Capitol Hill, making better beers than its former location in Woodinville. We decided to check out the Redhook Brewlab after hearing praises for its fusion and more unique beers. They were certainly different than its original brews that were enjoyed at Woodinville, as they had more of a different flavor palate for each style of beer. The tap list had a good amount of beer, but found that many of the IPAs were on the lighter side. However, they were still solid. You order at the bar where you can also get your beer, but they'll give you a number to deliver your food at the table. Food menu has a lot of classic bar bites, including a weekday happy hour. The three of us shared a flight, which came with six five-ounce beers. For mine I had two different kinds of IPA, one was made with guava and the other was a batch that uses New Zealand grains. As I mentioned before, they were on the lighter side, which isn't normally how I prefer my IPAs, but they were interesting with the different infused flavors. I also ordered a bowl of the boar chili, which I would recommend. It included sour cream with green onions, and the meat tasted light yet but sauce was hearty. I loved the hint of spice in it. Located on Capitol Hill with a huge front patio area that's dog-friendly, I would come back to check out their other creative concoctions, especially during happy hour where a burger and fries is only six bucks! I have been here twice. I don't really remember the 1st time, but do remember it was on a weekend and I got mussels that first time. I also remember me liking it. Anyways, I will write about last night's experience mostly. Parking: it's Cap Hill, so street parking. And it might suck. But last night, Wednesday around 7 pm, parking was pretty easy. Metered parking, pay till 10 pm. I ordered: - mushroom pizza - rose cider I gobbled up the entire pizza before remembering I didn't take a photo of it! The pizza was delicious! The mushroom pizza had arugula on top drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It was delicious and I would order it again next time i am back. I also liked my cider. Total for pizza + cider + tip = $30. It's so pricey now a days to go out I feel. You order and pay at the counter, you can keep a tab. Which is really nice when you are there with a large group and don't have to deal with splitting the bill! I passed by here one day when walking through Capitol Hill and kept itin my mind as a place I wanted to visit. I'm so glad I decided to come back! The location, atmosphere and beer selection here can't be beat. The pizza is even good. They were out of a couple of the beers I wanted to try and menu items but the recommended alternatives from the bartender were great. Nice, chill spot. We went on a Friday evening at around 6 and there was no crowd at all, which was nice. Beers were good too. Their food option is also great, as they have a pizza restaurant inside the brewery (separate from Redhook) that was really good. Really did enjoy the beer at this establishment. The food is your typical bar food that really lacks in all respects. Giving a 4/5 for everything except the food. I don't drink alcohol which is probably what Redhook is known for, so I can't critique for their beers, but I will say that when my work's fridge was stocked with Redhook beers, our clients were very pleased and we're more than happy to support a local brand. I didn't know that they had a brewery right here in Capitol Hill right on the same block as Salt & Straw until my roommate had her birthday party here, we reserved a section in the back where there's snuffle board to play with. It is a very big space, you can easily host corporate work parties here. Thank goodness there's food also, because who wants to drink on an empty stomach. You'll find mostly bar food such as pizzas, fries, burgers, typical bar food. Then you can go swing by Salt & Straw afterwards for dessert. The Redhook Brewlab is a fun place to hang out with your friends in a trendy and relaxing environment. I have been to this location twice since it opened and plan to go back. The positives: 1) Beautiful front and back patio with picnic tables (front) and adirondack chairs with fire pits (back). Great location to go and enjoy the nice weather (when we have it in Seattle). 2) nice ambiance to sit and hang out with friends 3) Shuffleboard table! 4) quality beer selection, many are partnerships with local small brewers 5) offers tasting flights (in cute rustic boxes..I might add) 6) friendly and attentive service 7) historic location in Cap Hill 8) offers food which is good quality. Areas of opportunity: 1) The bar TVs are poorly placed. The restaurant and seating space inside is unique but didn't leave much for maximum viewpoints to a TV. Their menus are also on TV (positive) but this does takes up valuable space where a TV could have been placed to watch an important sporting event. One or two tables also have a view of a TV, but that is about it. Bottom line, if seeing the game is the top priority, this isn't the spot to go. 2) Food is good but menu is limited: Pizzas and semi-hearty appetizer/bar snacks only. What I have tried: *prosciutto pizza- tasty, I enjoy the green arugula with the savory cheese and pesto. I only wish there was more prosciutto on it. Ours had about 4 slices and they were very thin. *pepperoni pizza-nothing to say about this one. A bit greasy and nothing stood out, could have been from any local pizza place *brisket sliders--ok but limited meat and middle of the road brisket. *burger (sliders) - these are my second choice for food here. With two (slider size) on the plate they will satisfy your hunger (or slow down the alcohol absorption). Tasty and semi-filling *fried chicken hahm-my favorite item currently on the menu. Don't forget to check in on Yelp and get $2 off your pint. Its a really cool brew pub- I was in the area so decided to check it out. You order the food as well as the drinks at the bar and they give you the number and bring the food out to your table when it's ready. There are two bar areas, I sat at the one near the entrance because it was less crowded. I tried their stout "My Oh My Caramel macchiato" and loved it! If you love stouts and porters, try this one. It's very rich and flavorful. For food, we got the chicken wings which were delicious and the charcuterie and beer board, which I believe is priced high and tasted average to me. I liked this spot! I had been to Red Hook in Woodinville and wasn't impressed but I really enjoyed this place. The space is huge with two bars and outdoor seating in the front and the back. The beers here collaborations with other local breweries which is a cool concept. They have their "beer of the day" which means you get a free sample to try. I had a saison which was really good and I tried a pineapple IPA which was also tasty. For food we had the pretzel rolls which were really delicious and could be addicting, it also came with a tasty mustard sauce. For dinner the four people at my table shared two pizzas which was plenty. We had the salami with honey which was tasty and another pizza that came with blue cheese on it. Both were tasty. This place has a huge beer selection and a great outdoor seating area. The ESB was only $3.5 and all other beers were very reasonably priced. Bartenders were super nice. They serve food here too but we didn't get anything. Their backyard is right underneath a bunch of apartment buildings so you're right under some balconies. We went here looking for poutine fries but they didn't have them. They did have delicious flights of beer, tasty wild boar cheese fries among other things. They have a good selection of unique beers but their food was subpar. A friend ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which was under-satisfying. I'm a big fan of lobster Mac and cheese so this review may be a bit particular, but I thought it tasted bland and was too rich for my liking. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it turned out to be very similar to a Vietnamese bhan mi. For $14 dollars, it was very overpriced, as a bhan mi sandwich at a Vietnamese restaurant is $9 tops. It was tasty but definitely not the best bhan mi that I've ever had. Another friend ordered the chicken wings which looked pretty good. Redhook is my personal favorite brewery in Cap Hill! I've been multiple times and have had a good experience every time, but giving it 4 starts because of the lack of consistency with seating spaces and their menus (lots of changes the past few months and the online menus are usually not updated). Everything I've had at Redhook has been great, but be aware that what's on the menu one time may not be there the next. With that said, I appreciate a rotating tap menu and enjoying getting to try new beers each time I go. I just wish the menus were updated more frequently so I could check out what's on tap before going. read more

We came here during COVID and sat outside in the back at a picnic table. The menu is not extensive but everything we had (chicken wings, fries, pizza, and caesar salad) was pretty solid. You grab your seat and look at a menu, then go order your food at the bar. The turn around time for food was really quick. We buy Groupons occasionally to get us out to check out new places. This place was so amazing! It has lots of outdoor seating that you have a server & indoor seating that you place your food & drink order & get a number & they bring out your food- we opted for indoor which was very open with large open doors- it was perfect. The guy that took our order was so great- he advised us on our beer preferences & he nailed it! I got the Golden Ale & my husband got the Big Ballard- so delicious! They had a QR code to check out the menu while we were in line but when we got to the counter he informed us of the list of items that they couldn't serve due to the labor shortage & that our order may take a while. Luckily what we wanted wasn't on the list; the Caesar Salad with chicken & the Buffalo chicken Burger with fries. So we enjoyed our beers prepared to wait for a while for our food & it actually came out quicker than we expected the Caesar salad was first which was perfect so we could enjoy it! It was so cold & crisp with Parmesan & fried capers & chunks of hot juicy chicken- so good! Whenever I visit Capital Hill in Seattle I usually start at Redhook Brewlab since it's a large facility with a great environment and is centrally located to many of the other more intimate bars in the area. They offer a decent selection of beers, none of which will compete with the best breweries in Seattle but are still interesting enough to drink. Their food menu also changes frequently which is a blessing and a curse since some of their food is fantastic (The foie gras french fries were awesome, and I don't like foie gras) and sometimes it's lackluster. They do have pretzels which seems to be a permanent menu item, and is always served fresh and tasty. And like the food, the quality of the service can also vary. I've gotten great service at times, and at other times I've left since I waited way too long to be greeted. So overall this is a good bar to visit. Sometimes you'll win the lottery, and other times you'll be kicking yourself that you wasted your money on that losing ticket. But either way it's a cool environment and a good, central spot to begin or end your night in Seattle. read more

Even when it's busy it doesn't feel crammed, probably due to the high ceilings and good layout. There's so many beer options as well as cocktails and ciders. When I came here it was super busy and we were lucky to find a table outside. I had the $16 mango margarita off their specialty cocktail menu which was delicious with the spiced up salty rim and mango puree that wasn't too sweet. The Redhook Brewlab is a great brewery in the heart of Capitol Hill. It is a large space, great for meeting in groups. They have plenty of TVs to watch sports. They have a great selection of rotating beers, which you would expect. I had the Wingding Hefeweizen which I loved (and hope will be part of the rotation often). For food, I had the sausage pizza. The toppings on the pizza were generous and really good--I particularly liked the sausage and peppers. I like a good thin crust and unfortunately that was a little soggy and not cooked enough. I stopped by Redhook Brewlab on my way to Salt and Straw not really knowing what to think. Honestly, I am not a beer drinking but I do like to sip on a cider now and then so I thought that this would be a good lunch location. First thing that struck me was table density. Any more in Seattle and the surrounding areas the tables are becoming closer and closer together to the point that you can easily overhear what the nearby tables are talking about. Not Redhook Brewlab. The tables were huge and spread apart. Yes, it was more communal seating, especially outside, but who cares when the tables are that large and at a nice distance. The super high ceilings inside with that industrial feel and large windows made the place feel airy and spacious. It was a really nice change of pace. There is no table service here, you order at the bar. There were two people taking orders and it seemed like it took a long time for only two groups ahead of us. There were sampling beers and sampling more beers. All I could think was it would have been nice if there was a line for those of us who knew what we wanted so that the samplers could have gotten their experience and the line wouldn't stretch unnecessarily long. The cheeseburger is worth the entire visit. I am sure they have great beer, but wow - that cheeseburger is easily one of the best that I have had in the Seattle area. It was amazingly juicy and perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasonings. It was chomp, chomp delicious. I was impressed by how thick it was it was still amazingly juicy without being undercooked. It was crisp on the surface layer not falling apart with each bite. It really was incredible. Such a cool hangout spot! Redhook has two areas of outdoor seating (individual tables in the back and communal benches in the front) and a large indoor seating area as well! The staff is all super friendly and helpful! The bartender who helped me out could tell I was a little uncertain about my beer selection and she offered for me to try it out before getting a whole pint which was great because I didn't end up liking the beer I picked!
