The pool that the resort has is also very nice and is pretty deep - like 8 feet in the deep end. The "resort" looks more like a motel as you can see in my pictures, the room was decently clean, no critters crawling around which is basically the minimum I ask of any place where I am staying overnight. The rooms are very outdated I must say, almost everything looked pretty old inside, and the counters and tables definitely could have been wiped down. The logos of the hotel in the elevators also were vandalized by various patrons for who knows how long and the hotel didn't bother to clean/fix it? Overall, I'd stay here again if I was feeling like saving money on a trip and just cared about somewhere to sleep for the night.

Nevertheless, we had a great time here on our own with a spacious condo on the canal and intercoastal waterway in Indian Shores. We walked to the beach everyday to get a power walk for an hour. The temperature was cool in the mornings. We hung by the pool for a little while each day, usually walked to lunch at the many restaurants nearby. One day, we took the free trolley to lunch. This property is conveniently located on Gulf Blvd. The trolley stops are close, and you can head south towards St. Petersburg or north to Clearwater with stops along the way. The condos were completely remodeled recently and the pier out back was also partially rebuilt. You can fish or pull up a boat to the pier. There are grills out there and tables to have a picnic on the water. Grocery stores are not that close....we borrowed a car from my sister for our grocery visit. It was about 3 miles to a Publix in Largo that had everything! We didn't use the workout room or game room, but they have those. They have a few snacks and drinks in the main office. Check-in with Petra was easy. They even gave us our condo early. I even received a call from "G" prior to our trip to find out if we needed anything or had any concerns. It was nice to know that they were expecting us! The kitchen was modestly equipped, but no kitchen shears. They had a toaster, coffee maker and blender, some sharp knives, kitchen utensils, wine glasses, coffee mugs, plates, glasses and silverware. I think if you aren't planning to do major cooking, you will be fine. The freezer has an ice maker, but if you need ice right away, just buy a bag while the machine catches up! The soaps are all supplied. The showers have dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is no lotion, so bring that. The bedrooms both had small decks with two chairs. There was one small table to put in between the chairs. It was great to have coffee out there in the morning. They have laundry baskets in the rooms, but you have to go to the laundry room to do laundry. The soap is free, but the washer and dryer are not. The TV's are huge! We had 3 flat screens, one in main area and one in each bedroom. The furniture in the living room wasn't super comfortable, but was fine. The dining table had 6 chairs. All in all, very home-like and spacious. The people were very nice. The employees always asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. The early check-in was so nice. Since we were arriving before 4 I was like sure let's get to our room early. We got checked between 2:30 & 3pm, cost us $50 extra, plus tax. Fast forward to our room. It was fine, but the deadbolt wouldn't lock. Maintenance quickly came and said it's due to people flipped the deadbolt out and then letting the door slam on it so it won't lock. He got it working. Day two while gone housekeeping stopped by and messed up the deadbolt. It's their own staff doing it, not solely guests. So as a HUGE safety issue, we couldn't get our deadbolt fixed night two. Again, huge safety concern. Like to have a drink by the pool? Good luck! This place is terrible. Per their rules: You may NOT bring a cooler to the pool. You may NOT bring outside alcoholic beverages to the pool. They do NOT have pool service nor a pool bar for drinks. You must dry off, go up to the second floor to the receptionist, and buy their $8 beer, then go back downstairs to the pool area. (NOT KIDDING) Their mini golf course is not a course, it's 4 holes. They have 32 lounge chairs and only 5 umbrellas. Pool closes at 9 although they had a sign posted it was closed due to sanitation issues. Although people got in, we didn't because of the sign. So that was unavailable for the two days we were there. Housekeeping is sloppy. Thrown towels on the counter. Towels frayed. The place sleeps more than two as we had two bedrooms, but they will charge you $20 per extra adult. Parking is limited but they still charge you extra if you park more than one car. They include a resort fee and this place is FAR FROM A RESORT! They just want to nickel and dime you. From a safety standpoint, don't stay here. From not able to enjoy your own adult beverages by the pool, don't stay here. From no pool or bar service, don't stay here. From the room allowing more than two adults to sleep there but they charge you for more than two adults, don't stay here. From checking in two hours early and charging $50, don't stay here. I'll admit, the folks at the front desk are nice. But they don't set the rules to nickel and dime guests on everything. Do yourself a favor, AVOID THIS PLACE!

The mold/mildew smell was extremely potent and immediately raised concerns about the air quality. In one of the rooms, there appeared to be black mold or a dark mold-like substance coming from/around the air vent. This is something I believe needs to be inspected and addressed as a potential health and safety concern. The cleanliness was also unacceptable. The floors were nasty, and the refrigerator door had what appeared to be dried BBQ sauce or food residue left on it. These are basic things that should have been caught before allowing another guest into the room. At night, there appeared to be only one employee working, which also made me question how the property is being managed and maintained. This is a 10/10 DO NOT STAY for me, even if the room was free. I'm genuinely confused by the 5/5 reviews because they do not reflect what I personally experienced. I'm not sure what management's goal is for this property, but based on the condition I personally witnessed, it feels like a motel on its last leg. The mold-like substance, strong mold/mildew odor, air-quality concerns, and overall lack of cleanliness need immediate attention and, in my opinion, a proper inspection.

We had the carriage house which is a small studio and beautiful just for two people for a few days. Since It was Halloween weekend, they left us a little bucket with Halloween candy and two T-shirts which I thought was a really nice touch. I highly recommend Sarah's Seaside. I spoke to Janet when making my reservation, she was wonderful and very helpful. They have lounge chairs on the beach with the great pillows, cabana (no charge) bikes if you want to ride also free, a washer and dryer if you want to wash your clothes, and yup free. Everyone is very accommodating. Staff a wonderful, Janet my contact at the resort cane by and introduced herself, showed us around. Overall a wonderful experience.

Pam and I stayed in the Carriage House while my 2 sons and family with 3 children stayed in the Governors Main where the porch is shaded with great view of the beautiful sunsets. Great place for family vacation or reunion. Owners and staff and very nice, welcoming and available for any special needs. They will make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your time.
