This was our 2nd stay at Shoreline and once again, we absolutely loved it! From the 1st email I sent inquiring about rates to check-out at the end of our vacation.. we were treated like family! Everyone was so accommodating and friendly! While service is a huge component, the location is fantastic! There are so many hotels on the beach, but they aren't nearly as close to the water. We fell asleep at night to the sound of the waves and woke in the morning to watch the dolphins splashing in the gulf. Absolutely Filthy room - there was a help wanted sign outside, for a cleaning person...and I am sure that the current cleaners do NOT know how. After staying here, I just cannot understand how this Hotel got good ratings. You can see the pics below to see what we stayed in. Upon arrival, there was bacon on the counter, the stove was NEVER cleaned. The toilet had brown crude inside and brown drips out. The fire sprinkler, overhead, was filled with gunk and dust...hopefully it would work if need be. The door to get out onto the balcony constantly stuck and I had to muscle the heck out of it to get it to open. The toaster was filthy & there were dead bugs on the ceiling. I tried to book elsewhere, but everything was full. I tried to relax, but could not because I knew what was around me. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable...and I stayed out of the room all of the time. The Coffee Pot popped the room breaker twice...and when the 2nd maintenance man came in (the 1st one didn't even know where the circuit breaker was), it actually sparked. He replaced the coffee pot with one that was covered in dust and dirt...I didn't use it. Did anyone EVER teach these people how to clean. The pics prove to me that they do not care about the rooms. There were many more things than presented here, dust on everthing, carpets not vacuumed - - but I just cannot waste anymore time on this. Each time I went to the front des, I was not even greeted, and the people behind the desk did not really seem to care...and why should I have to complain. This room should have been clean for me. Serviceable little hotel, but not really a resort. 4 floors of efficiency style rooms with a small walk-through kitchen, table, 2 recliners and a king bed. Tiny bathroom and a 1970's feel. Nice to have shuffleboard and a heated pool, but no dedicated beach access and even the ocean view looks out over a concrete slab and bunch of unattractive storage boxes. Love the Shoreline. Service is fantastic, the hotel is super clean, grounds are simple but clean. Ample parking, great convenient area to walk around to convenience stores and restaurants. We stayed in the new building for almost two weeks. Full fridge, microwave and stove. Loved the laminate wood colored floors that gave it a clean and open feel. The recliners in the room were a great addition. I especially loved the super clean pool restroom!!! Used the clean laundry facility too!!! Simple yet high quality breakfast every morning of kind bars, low fat dannon yogurts, oranges, apples and flavored creamer for the coffees. Will definitely return next year. Having adults only and no screaming, whining kids at the pool was great!!! read more

#MyLongestReviewToDate Room 315 overlooked the pool, the beach, and the corner edge of the hotel building to the right. The saving grace from the partial view was the nice sized balcony with two chairs and a small plastic table. The room was a king with balcony (pool and gulf view), but the actual sight line of the pool was blocked by a tree. The shuffle board court was quite visible. If I actually cared to see the pool from the room, this would bother me since it was part of the description for the room. What did bother me in the room was the lack of art (photo of room art posted), very low water pressure for the shower, no light at the table (a small reading lamp would be nice), no bars or hooks in the shower to hang clothes on (not even a retractable clothes line), and only one three drawer short chest of drawers and two night stand for clothes (the chest was slightly taller than the night stands and perfect height for the tv). These are the things that bothered me, yet I gave them 4 stars (before since other things were discovered by the Mister). So, as of checkout, the pros don't necessarily outweigh the cons for me. The concerns that we have cannot be resolved before my check out date and are not one room specific (that has changed since we found a dusty black sports bra under the bed while checking the room to make sure we didn't leave any if our things behind). Cleanliness would cause me to not stay here again. I really liked having a full kitchen with electric stove, although I didn't cook (I like having choices). The kitchen was stocked with the basics including dishes, glassware, utensils, towels, coffee maker. We found two unclean knives in the drawer (see photos by Carl O.) Free wi-fi is always good (even if you've unplugged you will need to check into your flight home, or maybe watch something streaming). There is a grocery store about a mile walking west and a Publix close by to the east (go to the Publix, you'll thank me later), John's Pass and Boardwalk is about a mile west and great for all types of entertainment in case you need more than a relaxing time by the beach. There are very good to decent restaurants about a quarter of a mile walk con the resort (great recommendations from the front desk). The lobby is very small, just enough to handle business, including a few seats for waiting so there were no hustle bustle attitude workers (everyone that I encountered was very helpful). There is a rack of pamphlets for local activities and offerings and a shelf of DVD movies and board games (free for hotel guests to check out). We greatly enjoyed the pool. It's my most favorite amenity. The heated pool was clean and ranged from 3 ft 4 in to 8 ft. No life guard on duty. Several tables and chairs with umbrellas, and loners at the pool and just before the beach entry. Clear skies, flying birds...pure serenity. Free parking on-site, a great plus compared to other local resorts charging $20 or so daily for parking. Free daily continental breakfast included packets of oatmeal, coffee, cinnamon rolls, fruit, nut bars and 4oz juice cold rounds (the kind you get for middle school lunch). Ok, that's not so impressive but for a quick bite it will do (coffee and a cinnamon roll made the top of the list). Overall, this hotel is clean, but the room had some issues as noted, quiet (until I heard a crying kid across the balcony area, called the front desk and was told that the owners family may be visiting with kids - INSERT BLACK STARE #That'sNotAdultsOnly #That'sNotWhatIPaidToSeeOrHear #NowThat'sEnoughToMakeMeNotReturn #IFlewALongWayForAnAdultsExclusiveStay). They can be add cut add they want to be, and it doesn't matter how big they were, they were present, seen, and heard, and apparently live in the penthouse (said someone at the front desk as he showed us the family pictures upon check out). Nevertheless, our stay was slow and quiet. We were able to enjoy the beach and just plain get a mental break from a busy life, which was the goal. I should also mention that the hotel does not offer canopied beach chairs for the beach, but rather they are available to rent for $20 a day from a local vendor who has set up this option on the free access beach section that is directly in front of the hotel. You can buy a chair umbrella across the street for under $15, a worthy purchase even if you throw it away after checkout, in case you can't take it on the plane. Technically, you can honestly get more amenities in most other resorts, but we knew that before booking and didn't come here for that. Worth noting again, the heated pool is great and relaxing and it is greatly encouraged daily. ***Yes, I love children so take this adult face value... an adults exclusive resort should be just that. Very nice place to stay on St Pete Beach. I booked it last minute and mistakenly book a room across the street which is part of the hotel but not on the beach. They upgraded me to be right on the beach though there were no rooms with a view of the ocean. I was happy regardless. They offer a decent continental type breakfast. Room was clean though bathroom could have been a bit cleaner as here was some hair from previous guests. Not a lot but enough to notice. Otherwise all was good especially for the price. read more

My three night stay at this resort was just what I needed for a perfect staycation. Mario at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming and shared history about the resort. The close proximity to John's Pass, Sea Hag's and other quality restaurants was convenient and the resort had ample parking. My room was immaculate thanks to Mary and had all the comforts of home with a much better view. I had a Gulf front king size room and it had a kitchenette and balcony. The beachside pool was refreshing and it was nice to see people having a good time while socially distancing and heeding the indoor mask requirement at restaurants, shops, etc. I am so glad I selected this resort and hope to return soon. read more

After much Internet surfing to find a quick getaway before my wife returned to work, we "docked" at the Shoreline Island Resort. One of the listed benefits for us was that the minimum check-in age is 21, which meant we wouldn't have to deal with any children. This place seems to be popular for that reason because it seemed that the average age of the guests was about 60 years old during our stay. We arrived long before the 4:00 p.m. check-in time but we were offered the use of the amenities of the facility until our room was ready. We opted instead to walk down to John's Pass, which is about a mile South. Just as we were nearing John's, we got a call from the facility saying that our room was ready; which was 3 hours earlier than the regular check-in time. When we entered our room, we were pleased with how modern it looked on the inside. It's obvious that renovations had been done fairly recently. It was also obvious that most of the budget was spent on the bathroom and not the living area. We found the closet to be on the smaller size, which was made worse by the safe being located almost in the center of the closet making it hard to hang anything above it. There was also a pillar under the safe, which upon closer inspection, was not actually connected to the floor so it served no real purpose and subtracted from the usable floor space. The main piece of furniture was a small three drawer chest (see pictures) and the only other drawers were in the nightstands. We did find the place to be relatively clean even though I don't like finding ANY evidence of a previous guest, which I did find. Proper cleaning involves moving furniture to make sure nothing has fallen behind. The staff were all friendly and we didn't have any issues with them at all. However, there should be more communication without having to ask like explaining where the different amenities are located (e.g. laundry room, fitness room, etc). Despite this being listed as an adults only facility, in the middle of our stay we heard children while trying to relax on the balcony. The front desk explained that it may be the owner's family but, regardless, THERE SHOULD BE NO CHILDREN AT AN ADULTS ONLY FACILITY. Upon checkout we again asked about the children we heard earlier and we were informed that the owner's family LIVES in the penthouse on the property; so this, in reality, is NEVER an Adults Only facility. A few things to note: * The free breakfast is just a Continental breakfast and consists of prepackaged goods and grammar school lunch juice cups so you'll have to go elsewhere for a full meal. * Breakfast is over at 10:30 so don't sleep in if you want to catch it. * The beach is a public beach, which isn't mentioned unless you ask, so although there are no kids at the resort, there may be kids on the beach. * The resort has NO umbrellas for the beach so you either have to buy one somewhere (about $16 at a nearby shop) or rent one for $20 a day from the town. * The room has an in the wall AC unit so if you close the bathroom door it gets warm really fast. * The AC unit is kinda loud so not ideal for light sleepers. * The AC unit protrudes on the balcony which makes it loud and hotter on the balcony. * There is no ventilation in or near the elevator. * The dishes are not sanitized to restaurant standards and we found it necessary to wash them before use because they simply weren't clean. * Our balcony (Room 315) had ZERO privacy in that it was clearly visible from four floors of another building that also partially blocked our view of the water/beach. * The "pool view" from our room was mostly blocked by a tree. * The water pressure for the shower was lackluster and there's a window in the shower facing the walkway that, although opaque, made me feel as if I was performing in a peep show. * Housekeeping makes their rounds early so if you're not out of your room before 9:30ish you'll probably miss them. A few suggestions for improvements: * Replace the one setting shower head with either a multi setting model or better yet a multi setting model with a hose to make it easier for guests. * Enlarge the closet and relocate the safe to one side or relocate the safe outside of the closet and put enclosed shelves above it. * Change the description for those rooms with a partially obstructed view and charge less for them. * Periodically move all furniture in each room and clean behind things (if something falls behind a piece of furniture and a guest reaches to retrieve it, they shouldn't come up with anything from a previous guest and a handful of dust bunnies). * Install a retractable clothesline in the shower for hanging wet swimwear. * Start each guest's stay with a new roll of toilet paper and a new box of tissue. Save the used rolls to restock the public restrooms or donate them to a shelter. * Stop advertising the facility as Adults Only if children live on the property. read more

This family owned Resort is a true gem. What they offer is a friendly staff a pool with a Hoyer lift for us people who are Mobility handicapped and a beautiful beach. What it didn't have where a bunch of signs telling you what to do. It didn't have loud music. It didn't have anybody walking around trying to sell you something. We will definitely be going back. read more

My husband and I came for our anniversary weekend. We liked that it was 21 and up as we were getting a small getaway from our child for a few nights. However, if you are under the age of 50, I would skip this place. The rooms need a major update, had a terrible smell and the toilet seats were broken. read more

The adults only tag line just means no kids, so no funny business. It's a decent place and the staff is super friendly. Surprisingly the area is pretty quite. The rooms are pretty cheap as well. Not the best quality but lots of space. The rooms are huge! Wi-Fi is limited. There is one spot near the office door leading to the pool that has it. Great place to stay with very friendly staff. The rooms are unfortunately quite old, so they could definitely do with an update. Very clean though, which is very important to me. The main buildings have fairly reliable wifi, and you just can't beat the gulf view. Unfortunately we were not told in advance that they had torn down and are now rebuilding one of the buildings. The Shorline is one of the FL Gulf coast's best kept secrets. We stayed at the hotel for over three weeks and had a fabulous time. The staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable and the rooms and views are amazing. We stayed in one of the newer buildings which gave us a perfect view of the ocean and overlooked the beautiful pool area. The property was immaculately clean and our room was incredibly comfortable. Our room had a king size bed with two really comfy La-Z-Boy recliner's that my wife and I relaxed on every day. The atmosphere around the property is very relaxed as the property primarily caters to adults and we met lots of fun and cool people. I enjoyed our stay so much that my wife and I have already booked a couple of additional weeks for the beginning of next year. Second time here and can't be more pleased. The owners treat you like friends. Directly on the beach, numerous room types to choose from, daily, except Sunday, maid service, sheets, towels, shampoo/conditioner, deliciously smelling body wash, hair dryers,all kitchen utensils, just bring your clothes. We only stayed for a few days, but a great place! While it is not new, you wouldn't know it. The entire place was very, very clean. I mean the entire place; hallways, elevator, parking lot, pool area and especially the room - without the strong antiseptic smell. You could hardly find even a scuff mark on a wall or floor. The room was nicely redecorated and updated with a small kitchen. Great kitchenware with thankfully large coffee cups. Excellent views, good restaurants within easy walking distance. Great hotel. We loved that it is adults only. The only complaint would be the noise coming from above room 544 which appears to be the owners living quarters. Could obviously tell there was a kid running around above us. The bathroom could be redone a little better, the tile just had an old look. The carpet was in very good condition, clean, and could walk around with socks on without it making them dirty. I believe the owners also came around on Christmas Day and gave us a quart of fresh squeezed orange juice, which was very nice of them. The beach is public so there will be kids out there. We would definitely stay here again though. Check in times are between 7am and 10pm. read more

Ahhh, so relaxing. We were here for four days the weekend before Memorial Day ... so nice & quiet! A beautiful beach, fine white sand. Very clean and updated corner room. We were in the north building and our balcony overlooked the beach. Very friendly staff, good continental breakfast with muffins, yogurt, juices, coffee (I loved the selection of KIND bars! ) Great coffee/espresso drink/smoothies/pastries shop, Addicted to the Bean, about a 10 min walk south in John's Pass shops & restaurant area. This is our first visit to the Shoreline resort and we are so happy that we stayed here. The bed is very comfortable, rooms are very clean, the staff is all helpful and friendly. Perfect choices for breakfast, yogurt, fruit, breakfast and protein bars, oatmeal, juice, coffee and teas. A first class place with reasonable prices. I've been to the hotel numerous times. My husband and I recently visited for our anniversary weekend, and despite the cloudy sky it was wonderful. Shoreline is one of the nicer motel style places. We always stay across the street because it the rooms have a kitchenette. The staff is always really nice too. There is some construction going on because they're building on. But it's not too loud or disrupting. The free breakfast is a little lacking but hey it's free. Oh and the prices are awesome.. Make sure to ask for a Florida resident discount and if your a return guest they have a discount for that too. We will definitely be returning this summer! read more
