I started attending the Redlands Antique Auction just before the pandemic and was dazzled by the high quality antiques that were always coming through. When it transitioned to online, it was a fun way to spend part of my Saturday while I did chores, running over to my laptop to bid as my items came up. It was always a pleasant experience when picking up my treasures; all the staff are so friendly and helpful, and insisted on loading everything in my van for me. Then I fell in love with a man in Palm Desert and it was time to downsize my 5 bedroom Victorian home in Los Angeles and sell it. The Redlands Auction staff made the long drive to come out and accepted about 90% of my offerings and spread them out between 2 auctions. I was more than pleased with what my antiques brought in, and it saved me so much time trying to sell them another way. Now it's a couple years down the road I am back in the buying market again to add my own touch to our desert and mountain homes, and of course Redlands Auction is where I turn! Good auction house, however auction invoice was $51.36:and since they do not have in-house shipping they use UPS , my shipping bill from UPS is $118.45. So may be auction staff should not put shipping or inform buyers in advance that shipping will be handled by UPS. read more

Drove to Redlands on a whim, hoping to find a new buffet table. We drove by this location and decided to stop in. The items inside are incredible and the gentleman walking around was busy but very helpful in explaining how it all worked. We are looking forward to placing our first bids on the items we liked! Instead of a vintage lithograph, they seem to prefer "pictures". I would not believe a single 5 star review. I have heirloom pieces, a lot of them. I sent sample photos. For example, a vintage framed Allegre scene of "Venice" , a lithograph worth a glimpse, however they did not offer to come and view anything. 1930's Radio, Victorian Square Piano desk, marble base garment display rack, the Charles Levier? No, no class. I enjoy experimenting with the referrals I receive, to discover the whole story, and leave reviews that will reflect the truth of the matter. RAA-1 star read more

This review is for people looking to sell items. I came here a few months ago to drop off a few items for consignment. The workers were very professional and helpful. One of the managers came out, and talked about how the system works. They take about 25% off the top. They gave an estimate, and never made any promises except that they will do their best to sell our items. About a week after our auction date, a check came vial mail. For me, time is money and these people do a lot of the leg work and busy body stuff. Yes, they take a portion but this is a business and how they make their living. Why pay retail prices when you can buy at wholesale levels? I have furnished my Victorian home with items purchased at this business. Better know your value though, as you could spend too much for something that you MUST have. Staff here are very professional and the evening moves along quite quickley. My boyfriend and I love antique furniture and collectibles. This past Sat, 8/25/18, I decided we would try something new and attend an antique auction. Walking in and not knowing what to expect we were first of all blown away by all the beautiful items in the auction preview. Since we were new to the auction scene we spent the evening just watching and learning and asking questions about how the auction worked. Everyone was so nice and helpful, the staff made themselves available before the auction for any questions. As it was summer, it was warm in the auction warehouse, so I would suggest bringing a small cooler, some caffeine since the auction can run several hours into the evening and something to snack on in case you get hungry. The auction is done at a fast pace and it can be exciting. I was amazed at some of the items and what they went for, unfortunately most of the items I had my eye on went for higher prices than I wanted to spend, but I saw some great bargains had on some beautiful antique furniture and paintings. We can't wait to come back next month and hopefully pick up a few pieces to add to our home!i read more

I contacted this place recently to inquire about selling some trunks. When I called a spoke to a Ron who right off the bat did not seem too interested in speaking with me, was abrupt over the phone and just gave me his email address and asked for pictures. I sent him them the same day to which he did respond right away explaining that they charge 30% fee and that the trunks even though old ( 125 yrs) were only worth between $100- 200, which I did actually agree and decided to try my luck on craigslist. I then emailed him back regarding an antique upright grand piano that is in excellent condition both inside and out. I let him know that I was hoping for 2k but understood the market right now is not the best. The response back was a single lined email stating he could not help.. Not sorry we don't deal in that why don't you try this or nice thanks but the market is not for this type of piece. I guess the problem I had with them is you would figure that for 30% fee there would be more of an interest to sell or at the very least give some friendly advise on what to do to sell since that is supposedly what they do every day. What he failed to appreciate is that while he may not have been able to help me if he was a little nicer, showed more interest I may have recommended them to family, friends, etc if there was a future need to sell antiques. I guess I am old fashioned to expect a little nicety in our not nice world today... Needless to say I will never contact them again. read more

The auctions here are a lot of fun. The owners are hands-on and will discuss items with you if you show up during preview events. The selection is eclectic and there are treasures aplenty. You can arrange for delivery if your item is too large for your vehicle. Whenever I bought something, I got it for a fair price. I have always been treated professionally and courteously. They are knowledgeable and if they don't know about something, they are eager to look ok it up. Their passion for what they buy and sell is what keeps me coming back. I also found them to be honest yet compassionate when I needed to part with some of the items from my mother's estate. They helped me see the actual value of some things and the lesser of others. While they had been important to us, some tens were really not sellable for the price we had expected. They were right on the money in both cases. I do not often sell stuff through them but i do buy ALOT and i am very satisfied evry time.. I have been doing business with Ron & Roy @ Redlands Antique Auction for over 20 years now, & have always found them to be Professional, courteous, civic-minded Hands-On & HONEST. Every 3rd Sat., They feature a vast array of nice quality real pre -1930 Antiques & Collectables--at refreshingly reasonable prices. They also have a few box lots of restorable items for those new to the hobby, or looking for a bargain. Recently, they began to feature more than a few Mid-Century Modern Pieces as well. The auctioneer panders to the regular dealers, so if you don't attend on a regular basis don't expect the auctioneer to take much notice of you as he will drop the hammer quickly for his regulars. By doing this the auctioneer is doing a disservice to his sellers because he's not getting them the very best money for their items. So whether you're a buy or a seller I would not recommend this auction house. read more
