I had a bad feeling when I took my machine in. I tried to tell the lady that there was a button on the front that didn't work. She basically ignored my comment. I decided since it was busy, that was the problem. Heidi (whom I've dealt with for about 30 years) called me and said the screen was cracked, the case was cracked and the machine was not repairable. Told her I'd come and pick it up expecting to see cracks and scratches all over it. That was not the case. No cracks, no scratches. Brought the machine home, plugged it in. It sews just fine Except for the button I told her about. The button still does not work! But that is all that seems to be wrong. So I was charged $50.00 for them to say that it couldn't be repaired. Don't know what they were thinking and at this point I don't care because I will find another place to take my sewing machines. read more

I really Hate writing bad reviews.... BUT sometimes Future customers need to know........Before..... you purchase or signup for a class.... My granddaughter who is 10yrs old wants to learn to sew & design clothing... she is in acting classes... dance classes... etc.... We signed her up for a beginners sewing class for kids... it's expensive $400.00 .....it does come with a $200.00 machine....At the last minute our entire family booked a vacation.... Our granddaughter would miss the first class... my daughter-in-law tried to explain that she didn't expect a refund but asked to reschedule ... after several phone calls and no return calls.....days later she finally heard back from Heidi.... who was very rude.... She was Not willing to reschedule... my daughter in law informed her that she would pick up the machine when we got back from our vacation.... Customer service is not part of the service here.... I really do not recommend this place...... read more

Not very long ago, had my wife's sewing machine serviced there. They did a very poor job and installed generic parts (NOT FACTORY AUTHORIZED) And charged for Factory parts plus marked the parts up by 500 %. I recently started sewing/ embroidering and soon realized that my machine wasn't going to do what I wanted. Heidi helped me get a new embroidery machine and I absolutely love my Innov-is NQ1700E!! For me buying a machine like this was a "big deal" and Heidi made me feel really special about my purchase! I have a brother PE800 and for the past month, it was so loud and the tension was giving me issues and I did everything I could using the internet. I almost quit on my machine! I called Redlands Sewing Center and they took it in the same day! They told me 1-2 weeks and it took just one week! The price is amazing too compared to other places I called. I picked it up and am now embroidering... I want to cry of how relieved I am. It's embroidering SO WELL! I am very thankful for the technician and the ladies in the front. They offer classes as well. I haven't used my Bernette machine for awhile and I think I have not threaded it correctly. I have to sign up for a $75.00 class to be shown now that my one year of free lessons has expired. No class available until March! and not anyone to show me just the treading procedure? I am a very disgusted customer and would not recommend Redlands Sewing Center for sure. read more

I had a horrible experience at this business after signing up for two classes. The owner called me a left a message as another employee. When I called the store, the owner came to the phone and asked me to bring my receipt for a book purchased online to class because another person's book was missing after the first class. Upon explaining to her that I had my receipt but was not in attendance at the class, she still insisted I bring my receipt to the next class. There would have been many ways to handle that with professionalism but questioning a customer's integrity was such an insult. I did go to the shop and share my receipt from Amazon with the shop and a few in attendance. The feedback about this shop proved to be correct after my experience. read more

This is mother's experience with Redlands Sewing Center... I have been a loyal, 20+ year Customer at Redlands Sewing Center. I have paid for many sewing classes, and purchased a sewing machine from Redlands Sewing Center. However, as a once loyal customer, I am sorely disappointed and highly dissatisfied with the poor customer service and lack of quality workmanship, under the new ownership. On 09/24/2022, I took my Memory Craft by Jenome, in for service, due to skipping stitches. In October I called for an update on the status of my Jenome. I was told that there were quite a few repairs ahead of my machine, and that they would call me when my Jenome was ready. In November I was told that a Bobbin Case needed to be ordered for replacement. When I followed up again on November 18th, I was told that the Bobbin Case had just come in. When I spoke to Alexis, at Redlands Sewing Center, she told me that the repaiman had gone for the day, and that, she couldn't "make him stay if he didn't want to." How is that an acceptable comment to make to any customer? I finally picked my machine up on November 21, 2022. The sales receipt confirmed that all checks had been completed, the machine had been cleaned, Bobbin Case replaced, and machine "brought back to Factory Settings as close as possible." To my dismay, with the very first use of my Jenome, after picking it up from repair. My fabric was ruined, when it came into contact with grease that was left on my machine. This is not the level of service that I expect from Redlands Sewing Center. This is no way to treat any customer. Redlands Sewing Center has lost a loyal Customer. read more

I loved quilting until I entered this place. I left after receiving no service and was very disappointed. Awful service.

I went there 6 weeks ago to get an embroidery foot for my brother sewing machine. Seems to be very simple thing to do. there is nothing special about that kind of foot and it is pretty basic thing that should be in stock in a place that is all about quilting. but nop. not in stock. and no, not "we will get those back in stock next week or so". it had to be a special order. ok. I provided a model number and a photo of my machine and was promised that someone would contact me back. never happened. 3 weeks later I was in the aria, so I decided to ask about that order of mine. no one knew anything about it, computers were frozen, but I was promised someone will reach up to me. someone called me later and told that unfortunately everything is on a back order for last 3 weeks and my order is there as well, but.... I was asked again about the make, model number and a picture of my machine. I suspect that there was no order for me, they just forgot about me. ok, things happened to the best of us. So ones again I gave them everything about my machine. another 3 weeks past and nothing. today I went to the store again. and guess what... no one knew anything about my order again, computer was frozen, and everything was on a back order for the last 3 weeks (shouldn't it be 6 now? 3+3=6, right?) I was asked about model number and a picture and.... o, I love the part "whom did you already gave all those information?" part. yes, I am the only one who is not able to remember what the name of an employe to whom I spoke 3 weeks ago was. everybody else would remember or have a note. "Tell us what is that foot" was also a good question. actually, I came to a pro so they can give me that information. and finally, "this foot could work for you" from the wall. could, should or would? and $35? really? is it gold filled or at least plated? so I left and did what I should have done to begin with. I opened my laptop, did my research on what is it exactly that foot I need for my model of Brother, and found what I need on Amazon for $12. should have it by Tuesday. end of story. I wish Redland Sewing Center merry Christmas and happy new year for the rest of a store life. Hope there is enough customers who are more dedicated to support local business than I am. for me it is way tooo many efforts. read more

My Viking sewing machine broke during the COVID 19. I checked on their website and saw that they are open Monday's for repairs from 9 to 12. I was so happy and excited. It took one week and they had it back to factory settings. What a wonderful store to think of us seamstress. Thank you Chris for going all the way during this time. read more

Came in for some Brother sewing machine repairs. They were busy with a class going and other customers. However, Kristy helped me at the counter immediately. She was able to fix my machine on the spot without me having to leave it, which i had anticipated having to do. During the process she provided me with some education about my machine. When she fixed it, she did some test stitches and told me that my tension was wrong and provided further education for me. Best of all, the repair was free of charge! I was quite confused. She clarified that more complex repairs do come with a fee but that since she was able to quickly diagnose and help me on the spot, I didn't owe anything. They have a variety of classes for beginners to advanced. Looks like they were adhering to the current state mask mandate within the class. With such knowledgeable staff and excellent customer service, I'm going to have to check those classes out. read more

Such wonderful people work here! From the moment I walked in, everyone was sweet, and genuine. I came in because my sewing machine was giving me issues, and I was prepared to pay a larger sum of money for a service. Linda took a look and helped me realize the problem was so simple, I almost felt dumb! Hah! But Linda was so helpful, and went out of her way to make sure I had the proper materials, and she told me a simple service at home is all I'd need for now, and she gave me wonderful knowledge for the future in my sewing crafts. This is a very pleasant shop. I have recently taken an interest in high-quality older sewing machines and am learning how to use them properly. When I managed to snag a nice, older, Bernina unit off of an online auction site and needed some of the things that were not included in the sale, I decided to stop in at a local retailer rather than try to obtain the accessories online. I should mention that we do not have a Bernina retailer out where I live, but we were visiting relatives in the Inland Empire and were driving through Redlands so why not? Turned out to be a good decision. On my first visit I picked up a new foot controller for the machine. This purchase saved me $100 over anything I could find online. When I asked if they had them in stock and what the price was the nice sales clerk really surprised me! She returned from the stock room with a brand new Bernina foot controller with the needle-up/down heel switch for $124! They are $230 online! Not only that, she was just pleasant to talk to, courteous, and very knowledgeable. On our way out of town I stopped again to pick up a few bobbins (another thing that was missing from my machine). This time the store was a little busier, but everything was just friendly and the people are happy to take care of you. Well, anyway, I got home and did a thorough inspection of my new/old Bernina and it turns out that there is a missing footpad on the base. Sometime in its past one had managed to fall out. So rather than hunt online, I called Redlands Sewing Center. Sure enough, they had them in stock. The nice lady tossed one in an envelope for me and shipped it out same day. Overall, this store sells pretty high-end machines along with some smaller, more portable, units. But they are all set out for customers to come in and try them out. They sell fabric and notions as well as accessories for several different brands. It is well-organized and perfused with a lovely, low-key, vibe. I think if you are a serious sewing aficionado then this joint will be right up your alley. I only wish they were closer to where I live. read more

I've been a customer of this store for 20 years. It is dedicated to the serious sewer who appreciates fine quality machines that will be used frequently. This is not where you go when you think you want to sew your first Halloween costume to see if you like sewing. This is where you go when you have a passion for creating. The staff is the best educated in all of Southern California period. In my experience they have never tried to up-sell to a model that is more than your needs or budget. Yes a quality sewing machine is expensive, but no more so then a quality set of golf clubs and you can't use the clubs to make shirts, dresses, or baby quilts. I've brought several friends to this store that is 30 miles from my home because of the quality of product and staff. This shop offers classes and accessories for furthering your own education and enjoyment of this skill. Teachers who are thorough in knowledge as well as generous with their attention guarantee you will have the help necessary to meet your own challenges. What makes this store unique is the feel of excitement and creativity generated by the staff and displays. When you are planning on shopping everything you need to compare is in the room. A decade ago my husband came this store to buy me my first serger on the sly and they made him feel at ease even though he wasn't sure what the equipment would do. I've been so preoccupied with my new machine, I've neglected to write a review as I had planned. Three weeks ago I bought my dream sewing machine (pre-owned) from these lovely ladies, and I couldn't be happier. I have been sewing for many years and have coveted a high end machine, but the high end price tag just wasn't in the budget. I was able to purchase a practically new, for all intents and purposes (only 2 hours on the machine!) high end beauty that does everything I've ever wanted, for an unbeatable price. To top it off, everyone who works there is knowledgeable and friendly. I live in the high desert but will travel to deal with these people, rather than dealing with the not so great sewing center up here. You can't go wrong dealing with these lovely people. read more

Dropped of my machine for repair. I was told 3 weeks. At 3 weeks I was told, oh there are 10 machines ahead of you. Really???? Ok, finally got it back, had the same issue as before. Took it back to the shop where purchased (another state!). It was the mother board. Redlands still wants the $185.00 for doing nothing. Avoid. I saw the projects for classes and sadly they are old and tired, did not inspire me and that was before the repair mess. Went down to the sister fabric shop. If you like paying $10.00 more for any item, this is your place. It's a cute shop, but a rip off shop. All in all... avoid. read more

Went in to drop off my Singer sewing machine which I've used for 25 yrs. Maybe once a years I've taken it to places because the timing was off. The woman or young lady at the counter said it would be a beginning charge of $140. without even looking at it. I've been in the biz for 30 yrs Thats plain and simple BS and a rip off. My Grandmother bought me a sewing machine from the Redlands Sewing Center for my birthday. I live about 300 miles north of Redlands, but came down to pick up my gift and attend a sewing lesson she scheduled for me at the Sewing Center. The ladies at the shop were so helpful and knowledgeable. They were patient in showing a novice like myself how to work with my new machine and a few cool tricks. Also they all have good advice and tips to help you along. If you are looking to get into sewing or are well-versed in it, this is the place to go! Tried to order a part and the first lady I spoke with was very helpful. She had to do research and call me back. The second lady Donna seemed a bit irritated that she had to go look for the notes since the first lady had a day off. Isn't that part of teamwork to assist customers and each other? I am a naive when it comes to anything to do with sewing machines and sewing in general. I have gone to the store 3 times with different questions from what machine needles to use on certain fabrics to thread strength. They are not only knowledgeable, but willing to spend time answering the most fundamental questions. I will go here with all my questions and for any items I need to purchase. The only thing they don't have in the store is fabric for sale, but when I asked about a project they told me what type of fabric I should use to make it a success. read more

If you are looking for a sewing machine, this is the place. They carry all the top brands and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful, but not at all pushy. Plus, they have an excellent service department and offer complimentary classes in how to use your new machine. They also offer other sewing and embroidery classes regularly. I wouldn't trust my machine to anyone else. The work is done on site and usually the machine is done early. My husband made the mistake of buying me a surger from Joanne's. They refused to give me classes as he bought the machine on line and not in the store. When we went shopping for an embroidery machine the female working at Joanne's turned her back on us and walked off when we refused to spend $5000 on a machine. Got much better service from Redlands Sewing Center. Got free classes and a better warranty. Love it there. read more

I recently bought a new sewing machine from Redlands Sewing Center. I got a good deal and am very pleased with my purchase. They had me sign up for a class to learn features about my new machine. The night before the class I was woken up due to an alarm event at my work so you can imagine I wasn't anxious to go to an all day class. Much to my surprise it was a terrific experience! Impossible to say enough great things about my experience with Redlands Sewing Center! I have a Pfaff machine that started having some stitching issues. I suspected it was just in need of service (it's been several years since I bought it and it gets a lot of use). My first call was to the Pfaff dealer from whom I bought the machine. I asked two simple questions: how much is a regular service, and how long will it take? Moore's response: "We don't quote prices over the phone. You need to bring your machine in for a quote, and then expect that it will be 4-6 weeks to have the work done." UNACCEPTABLE. I wallowed for a week before calling Redlands Sewing Center. They advised that they would be unable to order Pfaff parts if the issue was more than just a regular service, but that I wouldn't be charged in that case for the service. They quoted me $140 for the service, but told me there was a coupon on their website for a discount, and that they'd need four days to service the machine. SOLD! I dropped my machine off yesterday. And guess what, I got a call this afternoon that it was serviced, working great, and ready to be picked up. Sorry to yell, but I JUST HAVE TO SAY HOW HAPPY I AM WITH THEIR SERVICE! I am more than annoyed at Redlands Sewing Center's Dishonesty from their Repair Tech. I took my older embroidery machine into the store to be looked at. It would not read the designs in my flash drive when inserted into the machine. I thought that maybe the flash port went bad. The next day one of the gals called to tell me "the bad news" she said; that the motherboard needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,000.00. I picked my machine up knowing that I would get a second opinion. I called another sewing center repair shop in San Bernardino and they said there was another sewing center that could "TEST" my flash first to see if indeed it was a bad flash port. The second store didn't even ask me to bring it in, over the phone he suggested to me that I try putting the designs on a 1 or 2 GB flash drive; that the machine does read anything higher. I have not used the machine in some time so I may have been using a 2GB before, but had them in a 4G when it did not work. Low and behold; all my designs came up on my machine. (Why would Redland Sewing Center not do the same test - and why would they lie to me). That 2nd store was right. I put my designs into a 2GB and they all came up. Bottom line.........if you take your machine at all to Redlands for repair....Get a second opinion, don't take their word as truth. They lied to me and were going to charge me $1,000.00 to repair not one thing on my machine. That is BAD BUSINESS! I do have to say the sales girls were very polite and educated in their machines. I was also shown other machines up to $15,000.00 before I walked out. I wonder how many other's have been swindled by Redland's Sewing Center's Repair Tech. They are very patient and have a wide selections of classes, on weeknights and weekends! The kids club is always full! The classes are small so you get a personalized attention. I am speaking to their parts and repair. I have had repairs done 4 times and each time they don't fully fix it and charge me to re-service every time. I have a Juki 5 Thread Serger, 2 Bernette 334DS Sergers, a Memory Craft 1000 Embriodery Serger, and a thread hemmer in addition to a brother and a white sewing machine. The store, sales, and ladies are great but if you notice, anything to do with repair, service, or parts is crap rating because that department is a bit on the crook side. read more

I don't even recommend one star! I took my Singer Touch & Sew in for the bobbin component to be repaired. The machine works great but stopped winding the bobbin. I left it and 2 hours later I received a call that my machine was ready to be picked up. When I arrived I was told the repair guy couldn't repair it that it had too many broken parts. They advised me that Singer had gone out of business and they couldn't get the parts. However, they did recommend that I purchase a new sewing machine from them. I went on line and discovered that Singer was still in business and in fact, the machines are currently for sale at many stores including JoAnn Fabrics and Walmart. I also discovered a schematic on line that listed all parts and part numbers. When I asked for the part name and number at Redlands Sewing Center I was told they had no way of knowing the part numbers. I have since taken it to San Bernardino Sew and Vac. Additionally, the repair guy at Redlands never checked my machine because I specifically wind my cord a certain way and it was still wound that way when I placed it in it's case. I will never go to Redlands Sewing Center or purchase anything from them. If you have an older machine that needs repair go to San Bernardino Sew and Vac. read more
