My dress fit PERFECTLY! Sherri did an incredible job. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What I appreciate most is that I was on a weight loss journey and was a different weight every time Sherri measured me. She was able to work with me each and every time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She was very kind and knowledgeable. She pointed out things that needed to be changed that I did not even notice and fixed them for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She also gives out a cute little care package that came in handy the day of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be having a second ceremony, and I CAN'T WAIT to have Sherri come back and make future alterations for me!! Thank you!
I found the Scarlett team from searching for a seamstress on yelp. I read the reviews for this business and they were spot on. I would highly recommend Sherri for you seamstress needs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I started with inquiry thru yelp and then texting to set up appt for the work to be done on my MOB dress.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sent a pic of my dress to Sherri to make sure she was able to work on sequin & she said no problem! [[HIGHLIGHT]]She was quick to respond & asked for a deposit to secure the appt.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She was on time and very professional She came to my house and make adjustment to the dress and took it with a follow up appt when she would return the dress. It made me nervous but she seemed very trust worthy and talked about her family and was very personable and sweet. On the the return visit, the was a few more adjustments needed and she was quick to do in a weeks time and come back to make sure it fit perfect, I am very happy with Sherri and her work on my dress. She did amazing work and her pricing was a set price that seems reasonable for the work requested. I highly recommend Sherri for your seamstress needs if you are in the IE area. She is very passionate in her work and cares for the work she does. Thank you Sherri for the beautiful outcome of my dress - the compliments were endless!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Quality, communication, and timing was perfect in working with The Scarlett Seam.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I requested a custom belt and a custom coverup for our church ceremony. The color matching and style was perfect. My top had French seams and custom-sewn pearls which I loved (I hope to wear it again for a special occasion). The measurements were just right! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a super busy work schedule leading up to the wedding so Sherri's mobile appointments were extremely convenient and comfortable![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super informative and she took her time with me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bottom of my many layered dress required long alterations and they came out great along with keeping my chapel train the back (my veil was custom by another wonderful vendor, One Blushing Bride). Sherri was amazing! She rebuilt the entire back of my daughter's wedding dress, added sleeves, and completed other alterations as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She was friendly, timely, professional, and did a beautiful job on the dress.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She even did alterations on the Maid of Honor's dress on a very short notice and dud a beautiful job. I can't say enough great things about Sherri. You can definitely trust her with all your alteration needs :)
Long Overdue Review! I got married in February 2025 and knew early on that I wanted Scarlett Seam to handle my wedding dress alterations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I reached out in December 2024 for an estimate and booked my appointment for January 2025. One of the best things about Scarlett Seam is that it's mobile so Sherri comes to you, which made the whole process so convenient, especially during the wedding planning process.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sherri was fantastic! She's easy to talk to, professional, and very knowledgeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She answered all my questions about the dress (hems, fit, etc.) and even addressed a tricky zipper that was hard to zip up by oiling it so it worked smoothly. I recommend Sherri for any wedding dress alterations. Her pricing is reasonable, she saves you time by coming to your location, and the quality of her work is top-notch. I'm wondering if she also repurposes wedding dresses. I'd love to do something about my dress instead of letting it sit in my closet forever. 10/10 recommend Scarlett Seam!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]I was very excited to work with Sherri and had high hopes, as she came across as kind, sweet, and professional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She was organized and coordinated throughout the process and even drove to my home, which I truly appreciated. My initial appointment was January 7th. The first fitting with the initial alterations was on February 24th, and a second attempt at correcting the alterations took place on March 10th. While she completed a corset back that I was satisfied with, the larger alterations--adding sleeves, extending my train, and adjusting the skirt--did not meet expectations, even after multiple attempts. During what was supposed to be the final fitting, a sleeve developed a tear that she was made aware of, and overall the dress was not prepared to the standard I had hoped for, especially so close to my wedding at the beginning of April. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tried to be respectful and considerate of her time and effort, recognizing that this is a small business.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]In respect for her policy I had paid the $90 retainer and the full $850 during our initial visitor in January. I attempted to negotiate a fair compromise by asking for partial reimbursement for the work that now needs to be redone. Unfortunately, that was not possible. She stated that, according to her policies, all alteration work is custom and non-refundable once services have begun. However, her policies (Section 11) state that cancellations are eligible for a refund on work that has not been completed, which in this case it was not (photo provided). She expressed that I had not given her the opportunity to correct the issues, but this was already her second attempt. Moving forward would have meant a third attempt, scheduled for March 17th. With my wedding only weeks away, I could not risk another alteration being done poorly and ultimately had to cancel the extended alteration appointment and take my dress elsewhere to remove most of the work she had done (aside from the corset) so it could be properly completed. While she is very kind and may handle smaller alterations well, I cannot recommend her for larger or more complex projects. I hope this review helps future brides not to end up in the same situation as myself to prevent the stress and hopefully save you time and money.

Finding the right dress is hard enough, but finding someone you trust to alter it is even harder. But Sherri really makes you feel comfortable and she did such an amazing job. With all of the wedding planning I did not have time to drag my dress around to different places. I sent out messages on yelp to find someone to do the work. Sherri responded quickly along with a couple of others. In total I got 7 quotes and some were extremely ridiculous. Hers was competitive but what sealed the deal was the fact that SHE COMES TO YOU. So we set up a date and time and I paid a deposit and she came. Even with my two toddlers in the house she was patient and kind. She showed up on time with good communication. She had me try the dress on and took her measurements and then the scariest part of all... she took my dress. It wasn't so scary after all. She communicated with me throughout the process and brought the dress back in time. I tried it on for the final fitting with her and I could not have been happier. That was the first time in this whole process I was able to feel my dress made for me! She did amazing and even let me keep what fabric she removed as I requested. Included in this review will be pictures of the day I bought the dress so you can see how much was pinned behind me. The back had to be taken in down the zipper and the straps had to be shortened. And of course there are pictures of the big day. I want to say thank you to Sherri for making my wedding dress my dream dress. You did amazing. I highly recommend her services to any and all stressed out brides needing alterations. She comes to you!!! I can't thank you enough.

Wonderful business! I got my bridesmaid dress late (a week and a half before the wedding). I was extremely worried because my dress was VERY big in the chest and belly area. I contacted The Scarlett Seam right away and they were able to squeeze me in. I requested to have my dress taken in along with the straps to make the dress more form fitting. The Scarlett Seam was able to get my dress done in less than 6 days! WOW! The dress came out PERFECT and fit like a glove I WAS SO AMAZED at how fast this service was at such a good price point. The Scarlett seam is a mobile service, so they came to me for measurements/pickup and drop off. So awesome. I will come back to them with all my needs in future. Thank you so much !!

Sherri was amazing! My wedding dress had a lot of appliques and needed to be taken up several inches (with adjustments both to the straps and shortened at the bottom). This required very detailed work to ensure the applique pattern running down the dress to the end of the train flowed well. She did a wonderful job! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved that she came to my home, making a stressful planning time a bit easier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only regret - I should have had her take the dress in as well. We discussed it and I chose poorly. Everyone said I would lose 10 pounds before the wedding...I didn't have that optimism. Yep, lost 12 pounds before the wedding so the dress was just bit too big. I would recommend Sherri over and over again. She literally saved my dress for my wedding. After a really terrible experience prior to finding Sherri, I thought I wasn't going to be able to wear my dress. Sherri travels to you which is so nice + convenient! She's super affordable and very friendly. She took my measurements and I told her what I needed for my dress. She gave me complete hope in knowing she could make my dress comfortable enough for me to wear. She took my dress and worked her magic. When she came back to drop off my dress, it was flawless. She was able to open the dress on the sides a bit to make it easier for me to move and it was so comfortable instead of extremely tight. She added my bridal belt and half an inch of sleeves that draped my shoulders. It fit so great and on my big day I got so many compliments! Sherri really knows what she's doing and she's the best of the best. If you're considering going with her, just book your appointment. Sherri is a wonderful seamstress. I was able to have her work on two of my wedding dresses and my two daughters dress. She was able to work with me and my schedule. She was able to make a modest cover for church, a build in bra. My reception dress didn't need much just the bottom needed to be bustled. My daughter dress had to be taken in twice (she lost weight) and she was so graciously fixed it and was able to get her dress done on time. My youngest daughter just needed the bottom hemmed. So thankful I was able to find Sherri, her prices are budget friendly depending on what you want, she was able to give me a quote and go over pricing. read more

I was in desperate need of having my dress altered. I bought the dress in 2019, so I had gained some weight and needed my dress altered. We had decided we were going to get very last minute. Thankfully I messaged Sherri and she was able to help me out. She responded super quickly and was available to help alter my dress. During my appointment she was very kind and helpful. She was very kind and quick to respond to any questions I had leading up to my alterations. unfortunately, I learned the day of my wedding that my dress wasn't wedding ready. When I tried on my dress the day she delivered it, it looked beautiful, it looked perfect and fit like a glove. I was super excited to wear it for my wedding! With that said, I had requested a lining to be placed underneath my dress in the bodice area. The lining was not sewn all the way around and I didn't realize it was going to be such a problem the day of my wedding. The lining underneath the bodice kept lifting up every single time I was dancing , even when I was taking my wedding photos I couldn't lift my arms up because they would see my skin underneath my lace. It was very embarrassing I had to keep fixing my dress over and over and over again and it really put a damper on the day for me. It was so unfortunate! read more

The Scarlett Seam has to be the most efficient way to get alterations in the area. Sherri will schedule a time to come visit you so you don't have to go anywhere! I needed a few minor alterations done to my wedding dress, and she was able to get our fitting done very quickly. Although, I kept her around for longer just because I was interested in talking to her about her past work experience. Hahah I also asked her if she was able to do any type of custom embroidery, and she was happy to do so at an incredibly affordable price! I love our wedding date embroidered in blue on the lining of my dress! It was the perfect "something blue." The entire alteration process was very quick and affordable, and I had my wedding dress back a month before the big day. Thank you Sherri! You were a pleasure to work with! read more

Sherri is fantastic!! My dress needed to be hemmed, bustled, and the mesh on my back needed to be sewn down due to bubbling. She also fixed my diamond belt (she put a snap on it and made it fit perfectly to my waist). She came to my apartment in Huntington Beach and showed me exactly what needed to be fixed and how much it would cost. It was pricey, but the fact Sherri comes to you and she has so much experience working with lace - it was worth every penny!! She turned my dress around in 3 weeks, and I received so many compliments about the fit and style of my dress. She is fantastic, and I would absolutely hire her for any and all alterations! read more

Sherri is AMAZING!! I'm sorry it took me a couple of months to finally post a review. The whole process from start to finish was super fast. I love how convenient it was for her to come to my house, take my measurements, and have my dress back to me within a couple of weeks. She had to hem my dress, sew my super detailed lace on the bottom, tighten my straps, add clips to reinforce the dainty buttons down the back of my dress, and finally add a bustle. I loved the way it turned out! The bustle was super easy to figure out Price was very reasonable considering the convince! Sherri delivers amazing service!!! She helped alter my bridesmaids dress that was purchased online and fitted loose on the sides of the chest area. Being a nurse and having a busy work schedule, she was super accommodating and was able to fix my dress just in time for the wedding. You can tell she's an expert at what she does because her sewing was on point. She had to alter an inch on each side of my dress that had thick material. Can't even tell my dress had alterations!
