I did get one response from John when he came out and took some pictures of my front window that was coming apart at the seams. After that, crickets! He tried to tell me that it was my dogs that were pushing the window out. The dogs were in the equation when the windows were quoted and installed. I just paid to have another window company come out and do the repair. They told me the window had ZERO anchors on the bottom and with it being a West facing window the heat is what was making it come apart and bow. The windows are great from Window Depot. The customer service after the fact sucks! I will choose another company to do my remaining 20 windows!

John came and said "they would be exactly the same". When they were installed they are a completely different color and look awful. They also put like a frame or something on the outside of our house. They attached it through the siding on the house. It clashes with our siding and looks terrible since it doesn't match at all. I have called the office so many times. The receptionist has said that John would back to me. He called once when I was unable to answer. I have called again numerous times and left messages and was told John would call me back. So far no luck getting John to call me back. I am so unhappy with these windows. Now we have to pay another company to come and install the correct windows that match. This is the worst customer service ever, I would never recommend this company. Jan P.

Update 10/20/2018: I reached out to Hunter at the time of updating my review earlier today. Here is…read morethe conversation that occurred (no edits): Me: "I've accurately added and update to my review and you may want to touch bases with Branson. I tried to catch you before you left yesterday as I didn't realize until I had gone inside. Branson offered us a 100$ gift card for having to clean up after your crew...you brought me a 25$ card" Hunter: "It was my understanding that we were supposed to work out the gift card. Branson never told you he would be giving you a gift card for sure. Also I think we have been miss understood, when you say we disrespected your property and trashed it, are you saying my crew came back in the middle of the night and spread trash everywhere, Or are you saying it was done while they were working? Are you going to be home in the next hour and a half?" Me: I'm saying it was likely done while they were working, so no I don't feel incorrect in saying your crew disrespected our property. Branson told me he'd get us a gift card for 100$ but he had to submit that with you. I won't be I'm at work currently When I came home the first night to coffee cups, soda cans, food trash, etc scattered throughout my yard, then yes, that is disrespectful to me and my property I was going to take pictures of the trash the following morning but by the time I got up and ready my fiance had already cleaned it up" Hunter: "You should of taken pictures because I highly doubt my crew would do that. And he never promised you anything. He said the gutters (that their crew damaged) or a gift card. You got both and your still mad. Plus a bran new upgraded roof for 100% free and you want an extra 100$ as well? Plus if you had any concerns you would have told me when I asked you. Plus you went inside last night before I even walked off your property. So thanks for everything." Me: "He did not say "or" he offered the gift card for the trash matter. I'm not the first customer that has had that issue and Branson admitted that even. And no, the roof wasn't free...it was part of the purchase of the home, I'm sure I could have gone without the new roof and offered the seller less money for the home I went inside, I saw the 25$, I asked my fiance how much Branson had told us, went to head back out the door and you were already gone." Hunter"Bran ne roofs add 0$ value when you buy a home. And I'm glad your mad about your bran new 100% free roof. Me: "Brand new roof cost money for the seller, seller could have saved by not putting on the new roof and sold the house for less According to Remodeling Magazine's 2013 Cost vs. Value Report, a new roofincreases home resale value by a national average of nearly $12,000. The survey also revealed that homeowners who have new roofinginstalled can expect an average of 62.9% of the installation cost through increased home value. Hunter: "I'm so sorry your not satisfied. I truly with all my heart wish you could have paid for your own roof next year when it would have leaked and ruined the frame and structure of your home.. wish the best of luck to ya. @ Wish** Me: "Forwarded our conversation to my other half her response "holy shit...very unprofessional". I'll be updating my review further and adding this to it Hunter: "Have you ever seen the movie or read the book called the secret? If not I suggest you read it. It's pretty good." Me : "Yeah I'm familiar with it" Hunter: "Then I'm surprised. Have a good one." Me: "Don't be surprised, I have an expectation of service that I try to live up to in my own work environment....I haven't said anything that was untrue, but you got defensive and became unprofessional." Hunter: "Most of what you've said is untrue but I'm not gonna argue. Have a great day and smile lots. Me: "God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! I'm very honest and detailed in my reviews....and rather meticulous in my daily life if you want to say that what I said is untrue, then you just called the end consumer of a product and service that your company provides a liar." Hunter: "Is God the reason you posted the review and din't call me?" Me: "I reached out to you at the same time I updated the review." Update 10/20/2018: I have been in regular communication with Branson and Hunter in regards to the matters noted in my previous reviews. The repairs have still not been made, and apparently there is some miscommunication or misunderstanding between involved parties. Hunter stopped out yesterday and went over everything, and has brought out the replacement rain gutter. Branson had informed me that he would get me a $100 gift card for the issues, Hunter had stated he was going to bring the gift card with him. Hunter did bring a gift card but only for 25$. The fact that your employees disrespected our property and trashed our yard of which we had to clean up after them is not resolved by a 25$ credit. Hunter asked me to update / remove my review

The home is small so the large vents on each end of the gable were used for ventilation. I also had them take the evaporative cooler off the roof, remove the duck work in the attic and install an electric roof vent where the cooler had been. I came home to find they had cut 7 roof vents into the attic. There were no vents before as they were not needed. With the gable vents and the new attic vent, it was overkill. The project was done in May and the first snow of the season in November, I called them because I was getting ceiling damage in a bedroom right under one of the roof vents. I have plaster ceiling and walls and the leak was doing a lot of damage. The first thing he said was I was trying to blame previous damage on them. I was in shock. I said no, I don't want you in my house, I will fix the ceiling but it is getting bad so please come and fix the leak. Two days later I called again and he claimed they had come out. I said no way, there is a lot of snow and there is no sign anyone has been here. Then the guy asked how did I expect them to fix it in the snow and hung up on me. In the spring, I had a roofer come and take out all the vents and fix the sheeting, and put new shingles to fix the job. He also said the ridge shingles were not the kind used for the ridge and they were coming apart. They had used regular shingles and just folded them over. When he took the vents out, he told me they looked like they were old/used and were not up to code. He said several had been leaking and they were probably leaking because the flashing on the vents did not slide under the shingles very far like the newer ones do by several inches. So bottom line, they put used vents (that were not needed) on my new roof that were not to code, did not fix the leaks they caused and did not install the ridge cap properly. A year later a new problem came up. The electric roof vent they installed was making noise, so I had someone come to replace it. He said he was surprised it had not fallen into my attic. They had cut a hole in the underlayment felt and had not secured the vent to the trusses! It was just floating there on the underlayment with the shingles just tucked up under it! The contractor installed the new one properly. Stay away from these guys!!! I have warned people over the years not to call them. The guy I had talked to was the project manager that used to do the TV commercials. He was rude and condescending talking down to me like I was an idiot. All these repairs cost me dearly but they would do nothing to honor their warranty.

I will also be adding my review to Angie's List. We paid for a full siding job for our house after meeting with the owner of Franke Siding and Rain Gutters. He implied that he would be doing the job and offered all sorts of promises. Most of which we knew wouldn't happen but the bid was acceptable and he seemed great. He did not install the job at all. Instead he sent one of the worst people I've come across that has worked on our house. And that is saying something. The job took 3 times as long as promised. Which would have been fine because that is ALWAYS the case with contractors. Why they lie about such things is almost comical. The worst of this experience is that our siding is defective and seems to be melting off the house. This job was started in April and finished about the 3rd week of May. Before it was totally complete we already had pieces falling off the house. We had just brought my daughter home from Primary Children's Hospital on hospice and was at home, dying from leukemia. The owner still didn't give one consideration to our problems to come and replace the defective product as promised. I feel, for this alone, he has no soul! Aside from the defective product, his employee cut our tenants cable lines and we had to have Direct TV come out and fix the problem, costing us money. The owner, Mike Franke, promised SEVERAL times to reimburse us this cost and has not done so. Mike came to our house in June to look at the defective siding. He stated that he had never seen siding appear to melt and that he offered a lifetime guarantee on our installation and the product. He said he would get with the manufacturer and would get the siding replaced. This was in JUNE! I have never heard from him again. He had also promised to bring me a check for the cable repair when he looked at the defective siding but conveniently forgot his checkbook and promised to return the next day with the money. I haven't heard from him since this visit in June. I have emailed him repeatedly and I have called and texted and I have never heard one word since his visit in June. If I can do anything at all, it would be to warn EVERYONE not to do business with this company. He is not an honest person. He doesn't care about providing a product that he promises. He has no soul! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MIKE FRANKE OF FRANKE SIDING.

Spoke to three roofers here in the SLC area just after visiting the January Salt Lake Home…read moreShow...and two were high, and the third was a no show. Then our neighbors (who are both realtors) suggested we talk to S&S. So we called and had them give us an onsite and a quote. The final quote came in from Justin, and it was exactly what we wanted...detailed, listing each component by name, and with the final installed price. It beat the other quotes by a solid/comfortable margin. So my wife and I pulled the trigger on S&S and we couldn't be happier. From the detailed quote, to the responsive office staff (Amy and Sophia), to the onsite crew led by Ernesto, and even the owner, John, who showed up both days to bring some components and chat with me to ensure my satisfaction, it was a great experience and turned out to be a quality job. My wife and I had spec'd some upper mid-range Owens-Corning asphalt shingles ("Duration Designer" in Sand Dune color), and wanted some quality underlayment and ice and water shield components, and S&S suggested some solid mid-range name-brand products. We also wanted ridge vents installed and our old powered attic vent removed and discarded...and S&S took care of all that for us as part of the overall price. No more running a powered attic fan all summer! Ernesto and his crew did a great job with installation, attention to detail, and the job-site clean up, and did a final walk-around with me before wrapping up on early on the third day. So all in all, it was a great experience, and a great price (we think) for the new roof. We've already had four neighbors ask about the work, and if we'd recommend S&S, and we'd have to say absolutely (and we think the local folks will be using S&S!) I happened to see the instructions Justin left for Ernesto, and they were very specific with overhead photos and diagrams...kinda' like what I would do! That, and having John stop by to check on the progress was a nice touch. Well done all! FIVE stars.

I wanted to update my review as it is now posted on BBB Utah. Here it is!…read more I wanted to inform people about S&S roofing, as I spent over 6K on overlay to my existing roof a little over 9 years ago. I decided to go with S&S roofing. We discussed putting a 2nd layer over top as they stated it will be just as good, and a few thousand dollars cheaper. I originally thought they did a great job, and they had a site manager inspect the roof when it was finished. He came down and informed me everything was good. Now I am a 100% disable veteran who has had back surgery from supporting the war in Iraq, so I cannot climb up on a roof anymore. Due to the harsh winter we are in I called up to S&S roofing two weeks ago to see if I could get someone to check my roof out as I was hearing noises I have not heard before. She spoke to me in all reality very snotty way. She said, "Well that was over 9 years ago and the warranty of the shingles are through the company who makes them, not us. If you wish for us to come, check your roof there will be a charge of $350." I said really, no thanks there is a couple of companies I will call who will check my roof for free, and hung up. I went on the BBB website and selected a couple of companies listed and gave them a call. They both came out and checked the roof and both stated the same thing: The shingles are fine, BUT there are issues. When they installed the shingles they did not run the shingles all the way to the house. They did not put any flange Flashing or caulking to protect the water from seeping under the shingles. There is a very evident gap between the house and where the shingles stop throughout the existing roof. They informed me the only thing that is saving me is the existing roof that is there, because the water is going under the shingles and running down on to the original roof shingles. I will have one of these companies do my work. I put my trust into this company and I thought would last me 30 years. Don't believe what they say, and get it in writing. I will warn my fellow Veterans to stay clear of this company
