Stopped here for dinner on our first night in Red River Gorge. We aren't the most BBQ-forward folks but choices were limited so we came here. Parking can be somewhat of a chore but we were able to snipe one at the end of a row at the top of the parking lots near the buildings. Ordered the pork belly skewers to start. Was worried at the size of them that they would be slimy but these were tender, and had a great char and crisp to them. For my entree I went with the brisket which comes with two sides - vinegar slaw and sweet potato. The brisket was good - sauce was standard. I thought the sweet potato was good, but the slaw was very bland and pedestrian. Very disappointing if I'm honest with everything else good. We took dessert home - I went with the bourbon peach cobbler. Holy hell the size of it was insane, and the side ice cream put on top and the sauce was very very good. A BBQ restaurant that is about a mile down a gravel road makes my mouth water the closer the GPS counts down to 0.0 miles. Perched high atop the hill, those diners sitting outside have an amazing view of the trees and the sky while seated comfortably in the shade. Servers are quick to come around and take your order.. mine being beef brisket, Mac and Beans (Mac and cheese with baked beans on top) vinegar slaw and squash. Also on special was asparagus on the late-May evening that I stopped in. I'm a beef brisket snob. I like it lean and well smoked without the need for heavy bbq sauces. My opinion is that the more sauce you have to use, the worse off the meat. Having traveled all over, including a heavy concentration in the south sampling beef brisket, I can attest to the deliciousness of Red Point's brisket. A nice mix of fat, the brisket was tender and juicy and I could cut it with my fork. The side of bbq sauce complimented it rather than overpowering it, which is what it should do. The Mac and cheese baked beans was something I have never seen on a menu before. Mac and cheese on the bottom and baked beans on top.. I'm a fan. I'm also a fan of the bacon on top of it! The squash was so/so.. a little overcooked to me and the balsamic didn't really do anything for me. I would have liked some garlic and onion seasoning on it instead. The vinegar slaw was also a bit of a miss for me, but no one has been able to beat a local place in Thorntown, Indiana's vinegar cole slaw for me. The most important item.. the beef brisket.. was a solid 9.5 for me. I'm sure if I'm in the area again, my mouth will start watering thinking about it! read more

Went on a Saturday night in April. Place was packed! Wait was only 20 minutes for a table. They have lots of seating inside & outside (covered patio). They have a separate bar where you can grab a drink and wait. On a crowded night the bathroom line can get long (only 2 stalls). The appetizers: pork belly skewers & curry hummus with pita chips were both amazing. Lots of flavor. For dinner we had the ribs, pulled pork, & blackened catfish (all with 2 sides). Loved them all and they were large portions. The sides were also excellent. Really enjoyed the sweet potato and broccoli salad. Entrees were $16-$22 with two sides. What a food knockout! Redpoint BBQ is my new favorite Gorge food spot, and I didn't expect that going in. That's because EVERY food item is top-notch and gourmet! Huge portions, so order accordingly lol Ranking my food items, from best to least: 1) Baked sweet potato (best I've ever had) 2) Hot Chicken sandwich (add the brioche bun) 3) Broccoli salad (perfectly creamy) 4) Asparagus (perfectly grilled) 5) Rack of ribs (the only subpar item, was ok) Also commendable are the drink prices! Came for dinner on a Thursday night at 4:37pm and it was packed. I had read it got busy on weekends, but every outside table was taken and we got one of the last inside tables. People were parking along the drive in, but then we realized they did have overflow parking. Parking all together was a cluster. There is no information on how to order if you order at the counter, sit down, someone seats, you, etc., so that was confusing. We got a seat, a server came over and got our order. It was soooooo cold inside. We had to go get jackets. It took a really really really long time for our food to come out. The food was delicious for the most part. Pulled pork and bbq sauce was tasty as was the Mac and cheese. The Cole slaw was just meh. My husband liked his brisket and sweet potato. He didn't love his corn bread. It came with an herb better that taste like a cheddar bay biscuit. One person got the grilled chicken and didn't care for it. All in all, great food and good portion sizes. We also got charged for 2 kids drinks even though it said they were included on the menu so I'd like that $6 back. My lady friend loved her pulled pork, and I enjoyed my blackened catfish, but it would have been hotter. Got here at 345 on a Thursday to make sure we got outdoor seating. It wasn't nearly as packed as other reviews say. We got the curry hummus and pita chips. It was delicious. Had the old fashioned and honey bee for drinks. They were both great. For food we had the brisket with Mac n beans and sweet tater, hot chicken with broccoli salad and mac n cheese, and smoked wings. Literally everything was amazing. The brisket melted in our mouths, the hot chicken was perfectly seasoned and spicy, and the wings were tender and delicious. The original server we had was amazing, blonde woman, but a different server took over that wasn't as attentive (blonde but with several tattoos). All in all it's the best food in the gorge, by far the best bbq I've ever eaten, and I smoke a lot of food on my own. Gotta try it. read more

Some friends had recommended this place and we finally made it out to the gorge to try it. It definitely far exceeded my expectations. You don't often find a place like this in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. The food is amazing! Portion sizes are literally giant. We're pretty big eaters but could have totally shared a meal. Considering the size of the plates, it's a great deal too. I got the ribs. It was a full rack of ribs and I could eat about half. My husband got brisket and my parents got pulled pork. We all had different sides and they were all amazing. The ribs were my favorite, the pork was so tender and flavorful too. The folks at our campground recommended this BBQ place. SO glad they did! They said you turn down a gravel road and it looks like you're in the middle of nowhere. They were right! We got there a little after they opened (4:30 - they open at 4pm). You can sit anywhere you like so we sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful view. Staff here is very friendly and attentive. If you need anything you can grab any one of the servers nearby and they're happy to help. The food - outstanding! And HUGE portions! I had the pulled pork and mac n beans. There was so much pulled pork that I ate it for 2 more days! The mac and beans... I wasn't sure about the combo (mac n cheese and baked beans) but wow! Delicious! My husband had the brisket. We had a large group for lunch at Redpoint BBQ on Mother's Day, 5/10/2026. This place was amazing!!! We were quickly seated outdoors and the service was fantastic! The servers brought us ice water and iced tea in carafes for the table. I ordered the southwest chicken salad..... I don't even have words for how delicious it was! The spicy ranch dressing was the best. We also had the curry hummus, shrimp and grits, brisket, pulled pork, Nashville chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, asparagus, coleslaw. The portions were big and EVERYTHING was delicious! I'm already planning another 2 1/2 hour trip to have that salad again! I wish I took pictures of all of the food. Excellent job, RedPoint BBQ! Easily the best meal we had on a recent Kentucky/Tennessee vacation. We chose to come here on our 1st night in the Red River Gorge area and we were well compensated for the effort (effort: really out of the way location, at the end of a long gravel driveway that made us doubt the directions and worthiness of the effort). The open patio offered nice views of the surrounding hilly scenery and the bbq-based faire was the best we have had in many moons. Service was competent. Even being on diets we found we could navigate the menu for tasty gems without breaking the calorie barrier or the bank. Yum! read more

Ribs were fantastic, baked potato is so good, portion sizes are huge which I wasn't expecting to be honest for the price (which is VERY reasonable) brisket is amazing and kids menu option for brisket is perfect for our adventurous eater. It gets pretty busy around dinner so I recommend doing carry out if you aren't a big line waiter. Broccoli salad is delicious as well as coleslaw and Mac and cheese. The food here is amazing. You can tell the brisket is smoked with love and tenderness for your enjoyment. The plates are huge, as you would come to assume from a BBQ spot. They mix the beans with the Mac and cheese for a tasty side dish. Zero complaints here. Definitely put it on your priority list. One caveat is that it sits in a dry county. So don't expect to get alcohol on Sundays. If you're one of those folks that are tight with the bearded space wizard, maybe ask him if he's down with us plebs drinking on Sundays now so this won't be an issue anymore. The pope said he's down with gay people now, so maybe he's cool with Sunday sips? we decided to try this place after seeing it on someone's TikTok. It is off the beaten path but so worth it. We arrived on Saturday at noon when it open and by the time we left, it was packed. Even though it was hot, we still enjoyed the back patio, looking out towards the wooded area We had an amazing waitress and staff. And the food was delicious. We had smoked brisket and their barbecue sauce was amazing. We also got the side of a deep fried loaded, baked potato, which was crunchy on the outside and soft potato in the center. We also shared some spoke wings with dill ranch dressing. I wish I could take a bottle of the barbecue sauce and ranch dressing home. We arrived on a Friday night less than 1 hour to close. Our diners had the blackened catfish, the brisket, and a full rack of ribs. The brisket was delicious- it's smoked in-house and comes with 2 sides- I had the baked potato and the broccoli salad. The baked potato is a large half that's like twice baked or fried- it had an amazing crunch. The broccoli salad was also delicious. I'd recommend all those items. The full rack of ribs guy had a time eating all those ribs- they were tender and delicious. His sides were sweet potato and corn grits bread. The sweet potato was really good- the corn grits bread was a bit meh. The blackened catfish was our least liked. The charred flavor overpowers any other flavor. Those sides included yellow squash (not recommended) and the broccoli salad (which again- yum!) The vibe is laid-back and our server was really nice and nobody seemed annoyed at our late dining visit. Generous portions. Lots of drink options- would recommend the spicy margarita! Oh- you do need to drive up a country gravel road- but it is definitely worth the trip! Alas- we chowed down so fast (after a hike at Rock Bridge Arch Trail)- I didn't take any pics. Happy BBQ! We started off with 2 expresso Martinis which were delicious and made with real shots of expresso! My favorite dish was the Blackened Catfish, cooked to perfection and finished with an herbed butter. This was by far one of the best bbq places I have ever been! Bring your appetite because the portions are massive! I got the ribs with baked beans and squash. I ended up taking over half my ribs with me and half my baked beans! The ribs were so tender that they just slide off the bones! And the baked beans had lots of crispy bacon in them and 2 types of beans. The squash was so good that I inhaled it! The place is very popular so there is quite a wait to get seated. Last night was our second visit to this establishment. A bit less busy than the last time, which I enjoyed. This time I ordered the pulled pork with MAC and baked beans and sweet potatoes. Everything was great but the pork was a bit dry for my liking. Our waitress was so sweet and happy to bring us a side of the cucumber onion garnish which is delightful. The Hellbender cocktail is my favorite that I've had so far. Definitely give that a go! My favorite bites of the night were the wing appetizer and the brownie with blackberry sauce. Soooooo good. A great meal. Everyone in my party agreed. My take on this place so far is that apps, sides, drinks and desserts is where they shine.
