This is a very small and unique Distillery in a very historic building downtown. Definitely a must visit type of place. There is a kitchen, CBD products, and a small bar. I just had a Bloody Mary and a great conversation with a very social and friendly bartender. I wish I had more time to learn more about this place and have lunch, but I only had time for a drink. This place will not disappoint, come check it out!

Stopped in for lunch while driving through on a road trip. The place itself has a very interesting history and backstory. The food was okay, we had BBQ burgers and fries. It was nice to stop in the middle of a long drive, but I would not go out of my way to eat here.

I'm not understanding any of the positive reviews of this place - either customers have really low standards, or they business has recently had a very unfortunate decline in service... We went in with a work group on a Thursday, everyone arriving at staggered times in pairs or threes, and the place was empty aside from us (maybe 15 total?). There were two women working the bar and seating area, one male 'cook' (although I'm not sure anything is made fresh, from the menu and the dishes I saw come out it appears everything can be reheated from frozen then covered in or coupled with a sauce), and one preteen boy (??!!) sitting on the long side of the bar; there was also one adult male in a polo walking around for a bit, but he acted as if he was off work. We were the only two people at the bar (aside from the kid), on the short side closer to the seating area, and everyone else already had a drink. Somehow it took us 25 minutes to receive bottled drinks, and we had to actively recruit the woman behind the bar to do something other than talk to the kid or wander around somewhat aimlessly. God forbid you ask about happy hour, which is clearly written on their chalkboard as 4-6, but when we asked the woman behind the bar, she defaulted to the other server, who texted someone (??) to inquire, and that person responded 7-9 pm, but maybe just for food, or does that include drinks too? The world may never know, we certainly didn't, as there was zero clarification (or any sense of urgency to offer it). My husband ordered some overpriced (full price, not happy hour) wings, and I ended up only having one drink after he had to chase down the 'bartender' (term used loosely) for a second. If this were the only bar in town, I'd say buy packaged liquor and take it back to your house/hotel - this place is more of a frustration than a desirable destination. One star for the cool reuse of a historic building, and one star for the ladies working, because despite their complete and utter lack of organization and professionalism, they were nice, and did provide me with warm water to make a bottle for my baby.

Lunch spot on point. Had the burger. Delicious. Fries were plentiful. Price point matched the quality. Great concept. Farm to Table. Really fun atmosphere. Love this spot. Can't wait to come back next time we are in Winchester.

The food here is pretty good and the atmosphere is great. If the weather is nice they have outdoor seating. The sweet potato fries probably are my favorite item that I have tried on the menu. The Willy's burger sounds better than it actually is, but it's still not bad. Romp in the Woods cocktail was a bit sweet but very good. They make their own bourbon that's good in the mixed drinks. I didn't try it straight. I will leave that up to you.

I stopped for lunch here in the middle of a long bike ride. Sorry that I couldn't sample the spirits. But the half pound cheeseburger was delicious and cooked to order. After reading other reviews, it may have been a mistake not to get the bacon jam. But the brown sugar on the sweet potato fries was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our server recognized we were sweaty cyclists and brought us much needed water right away. While we were eating the owner walked in. Apparently, our status as out of town cyclists came with a bit of celebrity as the owner approached our table and thanked us twice for visiting her restaurant. And I am happy to post this great review of our experience.

Stopped in looking for a good meal. Shay our waitress was attentive. Blown AWAY! Philly steak w/ sweet potato fries and Chef salad. Added mustard coleslaw. All flavors were spot on! The 1833 single barrel bourbon was so good that I bought a bottle to take home. We also met the cook Shawn. They even had live music!

Friday's special. March SAD-ness Cocktail. Kinda sweet

We will never waste our money here again. Service was awful, appetizer burned, both duck and steak were overcooked. My meal was supposed to come with asparagus that was no where to found. When I inquired about the side, I was told that the asparagus was ground up in the half dollar size polenta cake. SERIOUSLY?? Duck portion was less than 4 ounces (mostly fat). . $45 for a tiny filet. These folks are trying to play at being a real restaurant when all they're really doing is robbing people blind with sub par food and service. One person covering 5 (yes, 5 WHOLE tables). Even on an incredibly slow night service was awful. I don't know about anybody else out there, but I don't have $200 to throw away on BS restaurants. Especially disappointing on your anniversary. Let we not forget the wines, no brands listed, that tasted like watered down crap. The only reason their Facebook says 100% recommended is because they delete any reviews that say otherwise, Trust me and skip this one. Go to Carsons, Corto Limo or Guiseppes for amazing food and service. Guess I should have ordered the hamburger. Live and learn.

We arranged a tour of the facility in combination with a river cruise on the Kentucky River. We signed in for our tour early, so we could shop in the distillery gift shop. I spent several hundred dollars in the gift shop buying special bourbons that you can only purchase at the distillery. I even bought Buffalo Trace dog treats. Plan at least an hour for shopping as lines are long. Fred was our tour guide. Fred was knowledgeable, humorous, interesting and passionate about Buffalo Trace. We learned the history of the distillery, saw how barrels are made, transported and stored and saw the bottling process for the Blanton bourbons. We concluded our tour with a tasting of four bourbons and a sample Kentucky Bourbon Ball. Unfortunately, the tasting was a bit rushed for us. The bourbons were good and I would have liked to make additional purchases after the tasting, but we were not able to because of the timeline for the river cruise. Parking is free. The line to check ids is long but moves quickly. There are restrooms available. I'm told dogs and kids are welcome with some restrictions, but I didn't see any. The tour of Buffalo Trace should be on every bourbon drinker or history buff's bucket list. I want to go back.
