From my experience, Red appeared highly dishonest and incompetent, with no remorse: Red came to fix my Bosch dishwasher then heard that I needed to straighten drains in my bathroom and said he could do it. Instead of adding what was needed to straighten the installation, which required some work, he simply replaced the two metallic T-traps with two plastic S-traps. I now just learnt that S-traps are illegal in the US! I will have to have the work totally redone. He covered me $250 without providing me with an invoice, and kept the T-traps I had (when I asked about them, I got no response). It is just unbelievable. I now realize he fooled me by leading me to believe it was additional work under his business (which it ended not to be), and that he actually knew what he was doing as a plumber (he came with his teenager son to "help" him). For what I now (after the fact...) understand is that if I were to have a flood now, the insurance would not cover the damages, and if I had an inspector come, I would fail. Wow. I left a voicemail today requiring a full refund, but have not yet heard from them. read more

We were having issues with our LG washer. We called Red's this morning, and they gave us an appointment TODAY! We are so appreciative of the quick response. It is so incredibly nice to find a repair service that is knowledgeable, fast, efficient, friendly, AND reasonably priced. I really don't like to give a bad review I love giving good ones. I called for repair of a washer/stackable apartment size. The repairman came in looked at the washer turned it on "spin" cycle and said "I know exactly what is wrong" and continued explaining the problem. I told him he needed to put it on wash as that is where the noise comes in - he said no need "I know" ..." it will cost $900.00 to fix!!!!! I said I could almost buy a new one. ........ bottom line is he failed to look inside the dryer to see that it is still under warranty!!! charged me $75 for nothing and bottom line is I am a senior living in an senior center ....... How could Red Improve ? Close or change businesses....here's why I say that . Calling "Reds" a slick operator would be an understatement. Our dispute with "Reds" began in March2019 when our Miele Dryer fan blades blew apart. Suffice it to say this is a commonly available part and low cost item ( $50) . But if you are dealing with "Reds" and parts orders are involved BE WARY of his tactics . Red came to our home on March 4 and immediately diagnosed the issue. While there he told my wife the part is only available for a Miele in some kind of 'KIT" that contains other wearable parts and he cannot just buy a fan . The charge would be $400 and Red needed advance payment so he could order the "KIT" . Red had my wife call his "office" and spoke to the person who took the credit card info for the charge for the kit. The charge hit our account before Reds Service vehicle hit the bottom of our drive. Over the next day my wife became curious about this need to buy an expensive Kit that Red told her was the only way he could buy a Miele dryer fan from Miele. Red was reassuring though saying that the kit would contain other parts that might likely wear and break over some duration. "WHAT A GREAT GUY , PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE " Not quite - my wife call and asked about Mieles policy in selling parts in Kits only if it was just a simple fan needing to be replaced. after winding her way thru several Customer Service Department s at Miele , she finally got to the Service Parts area. Service confirmed 2 things , 1) no such Kit exists at any price and that the Fan is available as a separate part item to anyone who needs it at $47 2) "Reds Appliances " is NOT an authorized Miele appliance dealer as Red claimed at the time. . When my wife called "Reds" and stated what she discovered , this began the battle of back and forth between "Reds " and us . Fortuneately my wife had used our CITI Bank card that has a customer dispute policy in which they agree to arbitrate claims like this . CITI Bank put the charge on hold while they collected the necessary info they need to arbitrate a distribute like this . We of course had documented proof of Mieles policy about parts and a statement for Miele Parts Department that the fan was a standalone item sold singularly and not inside any kind of Kit as was claimed by Reds. Miele also stated that any parts they sell can be returned if unused. "Reds" on the other hand was continuing to claim they were old the $400 for the Kit that they could not return . Hmmmmmm......Reds never had bought such a kit , either piecemeal or otherwise from Miele who sent us a copy of Reds purchases from them . We had proof of our claim that Red was creating a scam and charging us for it No service was ever rendered * except his "$75 diagnosis for which we had paid and no part was ever used much less given to us. After 2 of our submissions to CITI Bank were reviewed , the last on being in July , "Reds" was given a deadline of August 11 to respond with their facts and reasons why the Bill for $400 should be restored . We heard nothing until our September statement for CITI Bank showed that the $400 charge had been removed . We Beat "Reds" at his game of deception. Don't let him scam you with fictional parts kits and advance payments before service is rendered and complete . BE ON ALERT....."RED" ALERT IF HIS VEHICLE IS IN YOUR DRIVE AND HIS MOUTH IS MOVING . When my refrigerator freezer quit working, I called a couple of highly rated companies but was told it would be over a week before they could come out. I called Red's and he came out the same afternoon, exactly as promised. He was able to get it working but a part needed replacing to ensure that it was really fixed. Had to order part which came in the following day and was installed in timely manner. Since this occurred on Friday, he said they don't normally work weekends but if I had further problems to call and he would come out. Yes, the part was expensive, but what isn't these days? I am very satisfied with service and overall cost and would not hesitate to recommend Red's. read more

Parts installed cleaned up some other potential future issues, plugged in and powered up. Ready to start reloading in 5 hours. After 4 home visits, having a new ice maker installed, more problems with the new ice maker and over $300 we were told our ice maker was working perfectly. About 5 weeks later we discovered a slow leak from the ice maker that has damaged our floor. We called and guess what? Another service charge to "fix" the problem that obvious shoddy workmanship caused. Thinking of calling them? Don't. Just don't. read more

We had an extremely bad experience with Red's Appliance Repair. Our freezer stopped working. A service person said both compressors were low on Freon. He charged them but the freezer still did not work. A return call and he said a relay was bad. He replaced the relay and the freezer still did not work. Red came out and said the freezer compressor was leaking oil and the refrigerator should be replaced. The total charges for Freon and relay and labor was $510. I requested a refund because the freezer never worked. Red refused. I twice disputed the charge with the credit card company and Red never refunded a cent. We had the refrigerator checked by another service company. According to this serviceman, Red's over charged the compressor, the relay was not authorized by the manufacturer, the compressor was not leaking oil, and we did not need to replace the refrigerator. He replaced the compressor and it is working fine. Most reputable service companies stand behind their work. Red's does not. If someone requires service on a refrigerator, find some company other than Red's. read more

DO NOT waste your time or $$$ calling this scam guy!!! He is NOT a man of his word! He did more damage to my Samsung side by side! He ruined my compressor & ALL the oil leaked out, all over the bottom of my refrigerator! NO calls returned, but when I did finally speak with him, he stated he received no messages! You won't when you delete them!!! He is a SCAM!!!! Beware.... you have been advised before you are taken like he treated 2 disabled Seniors! Totally disappointed with the lies he told, and Never returned to make things right, or return part of the money he took for the damage he caused! We Don't treat others this way.... and if you call him, you have been warned in advance.... His service is sub-par!!! This is my first negative review, & pray it will be the last! BBB will be contacted as well! Called 3 days before my 30 day warranty expires, to inform us, He Will NOT be back to finish what mess he created..... we are out lots of $$$!!
