Such a fun atmosphere (they do great holiday decor). I really enjoy their mozzarella sticks and the burger is good too. Service is fast and friendly. Definitely a good neighborhood bar.

A proper smash burger. Of the highest order of smash.

OMG the SMASH BURGERS. Look no further. They are definitely legit. It's not fair to the rest of Pgh that the two best smash burgers IMO are like 5 mins apart from each other. The other place has a better burger but this place has better sauces but neither are really too much better than the other. I also got a specialty drink that i sadly didn't not the name of but it was just an excellent alcoholic sweet tea that I referred to as a "spicy turners". The wife's mule was proper, and the staff were great. This place went all out decorating for Halloween even putting a red carpet style sash over name; dubbbing Red's "Bad" News. The pricing of everything was great too. It wasn't cheap which nothing good ever is anymore, but it was definitely a perfect bang for your buck situation. 10 outa 10 would smash that patty again.

Discovered this establishment through Yelp! I scrolled through some reviews/pics immediately decided this is where we had to check out. Located in Brookline, just out the city of Pittsburgh. As we approached noticed the outside seating, open roll up garage door style and a crowd, all good signs. The decor is handmade pop culture artwork. We were told you place your orders at the bar so we decided on the smash burgers & fries. A condiment bar is located between the bar & kitchen full of homemade sauces. Get the white Lightning sauce, amazing! Glad we decided to check this place out! Highly recommended!!!!

We had a great time at Red's. Not only do they have great food but a killer tap list of both local beers and more. The staff is extremely friendly. There is outdoor seating which make it a great place to hang in the summer. They also have a secret peep hole out front that you MUST check out. Trust me

I've been to Red's a few times - once before the pandemic (which is when I took my review's pictures) and twice after being vaccinated earlier this year. Fortunately the insanity that was 2020 didn't take this new(er) business down. I think they even took the time to do some general construction and remodeling in the building last year, because the place looks great! While eating anywhere other than my own home feels pretty weird right now, Red's has been a great place to take that first step and "get back out" into the world a little bit. My general impressions of this place haven't changed since I first visited last year. This is a great and cozy little bar - the beer and drink options are solid (and include local beers and local liquors), the "tiny but mighty" menu is very tasty, and the staff are attentive and kind. It makes for a great experience all around. In addition to their indoor seating, they've currently set up three large picnic tables on the sidewalk for diners; they also now have a large window seating area. I've chosen to sit in these two spots with friends during my visits since the indoor area has been packed during my visits. While that's good news for Red's, I'm just not ready to be in close proximity to strangers again! Final thoughts: I highly recommend Red's if you're looking for a local spot to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a drink. The menu isn't the largest one out there, but what they do serve - a burger, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and other bar staples - is very good. Plus, the beer and cider options are pretty good, and everything is served up by a great team that will bring things to you quickly and check on you throughout your visit. 10/10, will be back again!

Moonlit is in my neighborhood so we most often land there for smashburgers. But we've been meaning to try Red's Good News for a while and I wish we hadn't waited so long. Burgers were smashy, tasty, and not at all greasy. Bonus: happy hour prices were great ($6 burgers on weekdays). The atmosphere of this place is great; little neighborhood place, charming inside, friendly staff, and you can play a board game, watch a game on tv, drop by for dinner, or just hang with friends. There were solo patrons in there reading a book, on a laptop, and just having a drink. It was comfy like that. Burgers are neck and neck with Moonlit, which is a good thing (less greasy actually) but Moonlit fries probably edge out Red's for me. Food menu is small, which I like--what they do, they do well. This place is great--burgers A+, fries B, my Fizzy Arnold A, and prices A+. Can't wait go back. Solid 4.5 stars and I'm rounding up!

Red's Good News is by far a local gem in Brookline. I've gone countless times and every time is just as good as the time before. They have some creative cocktails that rotate seasonally as well as a great beer selection that are all priced very well! However what keeps me coming back is bar food and atmosphere. Their menu might be limited, however what they have on it is amazing! Their burgers are phenomenal, their fried zucchini is perfect, and the seasoned fries are always crispy. They also have a sauce bar with homemade bbq sauce, ranch, and more to just add to the meal!

    It's a fun spot.

The food and drinks are definitely make me coming back. Depends on the day, the menu is great all around. Drinks from well to local brews are always nice. This location is most attractive, definitely something else in October which was very beautifully themed as "Red's Bad News" with a bannered over the front of the establishment. It is currently festive and bright, I just wanted everyone to enjoy what it looks like at closing time. I wasn't able to see the floor when I walked in but it was a very merry time. Thanks for keeping me coming back!

A nice neighborhood spot for good drinks, good food, and great company. This casual bar has indoor and outdoor seating that you seat yourself when you arrive. To get a menu or service you need to go to the bar, but the bartenders are good at getting to you quickly. Both the beer and food menus are limited, but they still cover a wide range of flavors and preferences. I ordered the pink lemonade cider and cheeseburger, which were delicious. The drink was refreshing on a hot summer day, with a balanced flavor of sweet and slight sour tang. The cheeseburger came with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and bbq sauce on top. It was a smash burger, which I love, and packed with flavor. They have a self-serve sauce station in the back with buffalo sauce, bbq, ketchup, ranch, mustard, mayo, and lightning sauce to add to your burger or dip your fries in. I highly recommend ordering the seasoned fries, they're perfectly sized for sharing and come out freshly crisp. Looking forward to coming back with friends, as the atmosphere is great for relaxing and everyone is in a good mood!

What an amazing price and quality. For fried zucchini at a dice bar you might think it would be bad. Howrver- it was some of the best I've ever had! Also their homemade sauces? To die for!

Notes of spice, wood, nuts, and slight fruit. The taste was great, but just smelling it was pretty intense. The salmon dish was great. I wanted to place a carryout order. I first tried online but there was a glitch somewhere in the system. I called instead. When the phone was answered, the background noise was intense. It was so loud that the employee couldn't hear me. At that point I decided to just go in and order. When I walked into Urban Tap, the noise was almost deafening. Music blaring, voices raised to be heard. No one was using their "inside voices", they couldn't. I sat at the bar to order. I never got waited on. I finally caught the attention of one of the bartenders and was ready to place an order. We leaned towards each other, yelling to try to be heard. I couldn't hear her when she read back my order. I really wasn't sure what I'd be getting. Unfortunately, I did get what I ordered - brunch breads and an order of biscuits. It took quite a while to get food - no surprise there. I checked our food when I got it. Oh Lordy, those biscuits looked good. This southern girl appreciates a good biscuit and did these look good. I got the food to the car and we headed out on the next leg of our adventure. About an hour later, I just had to grab one of those golden, flaky discs. Butter? Jam? Nah, the biscuits looked like they could solo on their own. I took one bite and my eyes flew open - not from the deliciousness, it was because of the sheer amount of salt. That can't be right so I took another small bite. I tried a teeny bite of the next biscuit. Salt. The biscuits were inedible. No, I don't mean that I didn't like the flavor. They contained so much salt that there was no way someone could eat these. That's ok, there was the banana bread French toast. It looked a little dark in color but it never crossed my mind that this might not be normal. I took a bite. It tasted odd, off, something wasn't right. My husband pegged it - it was burned. Before grilling or after? No idea. There were also a couple of donut holes. Not even worthy of a second bite. I also ordered fruit. It was good but still not enough to save the meal from dismal failure. We won't be back .

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports.
