    Pittsburgh Steak Salad
    Marla C.

I went on my lunch break with a coworker. She had been talking about this salad for weeks!! We both ordered the Pittsburgh steak salad and it hit the spot. I see why she couldn't stop talking about it! I know they are known for the grilled cheese but this was so good!! The staff was great!! And it wasn't super busy on a Monday at lunch. We sat down right away!

4/8/25 Ate List: The Big Che-bowski- 7.8 Serious sandwich. Big bite needed for this one. Egg on it wasn't gooey or runny but was still tasty. The flavor combination with the Tomato Soup for dipping was a stupendous flavor bomb. Once I tried it, I couldn't eat the sandwich on its own and had to dip. Tots were solid. Some more cooked than others. Still good. Likely will come back. Might try something else.

Good good. Drinks good. Ate everything. Downside was it's hella hot. Steamy. I feel like my eyes weren't working cuz of the humidity. Womp womp. Casual dining

Gourmet grilled cheese with two beef patties. Sorry I don't remember the name.

Had dinner here on December 31 at 5 PM stood for a minute or two. Waiting for the hostess (gabby) to turn around after I said, excuse me three times. Caught the attention of a waitress in the distance who made surewe were seated after the hostess walked away from us. Our waitress was Brianna. I think? Good service, but she didn't come back to check to see how our food was. Which it was very good. We both had gourmet grilled cheese with two beef patties and caramelized onions. My waffle fries were a little bit overcooked. But the sandwich in the soup made up for everything. I would suggest this place before or after any type of events in town if you want to keep it low-key.

Good atmosphere and plenty of beers on tap. Wish I'd chosen one of the many grilled cheese on the menu. Smash Burger came on a huge very bready bun that I think ruined the burger. Tots were greasy and an awful mess. How do you screw up tots???

Nice place for drinks and sandwiches. Are food was really good but the service was a bit slow. Very noisy and a bit crowded as well.

The food is great I don't like tomato's or soup but I literally guzzled there tomato soup the pierogis are incredible which they were a great 1st pierogi the staff is fun and sweet but referred to me as kiddo very comfortable vibe but also still a fun bar vibe but a tamed one and it's silly there a sign that says soup of the day and it's whisky with h20 croutons. The coups are cute too little glass mugs it's super duper nice great for a sports game definitely recommend the smack yo mama sandwich

We came on a weekend for lunch and they were quite busy. It took a while to be seated, but once we got seated service was very prompt. I like all things grilled cheese. I tried the Yinz Guys Hungry sandwich. It had great flavors, but fell short on the Pittsburgh theme. The waffle fries were soggy because it's next to a slice of tomato. There was also barely any Cole slaw on it. The grilled cheese toasts tasted so good though, it more or less made up for it. This looks like a great place to hang out. I would come back and try a different sandwich.

This place is cute!! I LOVE the fried pierogis. I've never had them before, and they have quickly become a fav. Our waitress was very sweet to us and their happy hour specials were great. I also got their cheeseburger with a caesar salad and have no complaints. I wish it was more busy in the restaurant. It was weird being lowkey the only ones there, but that is the only "complaint" I have and it's not really anyone's fault! I'd definitely recommend this to people in the area.

Still a good stop in PIT. Bean burger is tasty and I like the beer list. Happy hour saves you a couple of bucks.

Is bottomless mimosas available all day on the weekends or is it a limited time?

It runs from 10am to 4pm on the weekend as part of their brunch.

Can u move around in a wheel chair is the place handicap entrance?

It is not handicap accessible at all! There are stairs up or down to either level and it is hard to maneuver. So sorry :(

I placed an online lunch takeout order recently for a veggie burger with fries. Based on a special instruction I added to the order, the manager called to ask if I was vegan before they made the order since their bun and aioli have egg. Although I'm not, I was so appreciative of the effort they put in to make sure that the order fit my dietary needs! Also, the burger and fries were both cooked to perfection and so tasty. Highly recommend Butterjoint and their sister cafe, Sidecar!

Got to try their chicken sandwich and vinegar pie. The chicken sandwich came with a garlic sauce (toum) and fresh vegetables on their signature milk bread. Needless to say, the bun was amazing. The toum was great too, perfectly garlicky. And the chicken was delicious, with a solid portion. A bit on the expensive side though. The vinegar pie sounded super unique and intriguing so I gave that a shot. So glad I did! This is delicious. I can't even really describe it; there's a tiny note of acidity to it, but it's also super sweet. A nice little brown topping as well. It's just really good and you should try it. All in all, recommend this spot. The inside area we were sitting at was a little bleak but other than that, it is a nice place to be!

Not pictured but you NEED to get a Cindy's Tea when you come here. They sell these in cans as well I always try and grab a pack if we don't bike here! Their crunch wrap is my favorite thing on their menu. If I'm not getting it as my meal I'm forcing it as a table shareable it is that good. Usually I just get their fries with it which is always yummy but this time I tried their mac and it was so delicious! The Chicken Caesar wrap was so good normally I think places never put enough dressing in them but this was perfectly dressed! We tried their Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad and added chicken to it. Idk where I've been but watermelon on a salad?! AMAZING!!! This is a little different as they are set up with toast where you scan the QR menu and place your order and then they bring the food or drink to your table. You don't really have a server per se. We came in on a Friday afternoon around 4 o'clock and it was pretty quiet. We chose to sit upstairs and ordered the season of the month chicken wings. It was sour cream and cheddar dry rub. We did get them well done and I'm glad we did because it did make them crunchy here although they still weren't all that crunchy. The dry rub was actually really good, but it was a little bit like eating Cheetos as when you took your fingers away they were covered in orange powder. My husband tried their wheat ale - the easy golden. It was okay, but a little hop forward for him. They did have a arsenal cider on tap so I chose that for my beverage.

We were the only ones for quite some time and it was a little odd as when we first walked in the lights in the entranceway were off so it almost made them feel like they were closed. Thankfully, there was a server who was folding Silverware who greeted us and had us take a seat. They have several ciders that are available, and I opted to start with a flight. I tried the majority of their seasonal offering with the exception of the pumpkin spice as I'm not a fan in general. I really like the spice cider. It is my favorite. I did end up ordering a glass of it. The food options arevery artisan. My husband opted for the meatballs . They are very large, the overall flavoring to him seemed a little blah. I did try them. I found them to be a very moist and thought the flavoring was good. I opted to do the featured flatbread, which was the mac attack. If you've had a famous, fast food chains signature burger with thousand island dressing you will find similarities. I did find the flatbread crust was a little bit to thick for my liking and there was more sauce on it than there was actual meat. It was OK. They have a private lot, which is fantastic as parking is at such a premium in the city.
