On occasion, my dad has had to be admitted to the hospital - they've always checked in to see how he's doing and to tell us how much they and the other residents miss him. My dad's health went through a rough patch, but he's doing better than he has in a long time. I attribute a large portion of this to being in a great living environment.

Rental office refused to provide gen population information for the property. I was told to go to the police station as The Village could not speak on issues that may or may not have happened on the property in regards to race. In today's social climate, I am leery of any property not having an open and frank conversation about Race or Covid. Not looking insider information, just open dialog on the goings on of the property not an answer that sounds like it was written by a TX governor - did not even bother to ask about LGBT - no flags seen so unknown. They appear to be adhering to the national mandated covid policies as they are rolled out - however it is apparent that this property will only do what is absolutely necessary by law and politics. Also believe that price range quoted to me was more than advertised based on my review of the website prior to my tour. Minorities I would not waste the time.

They have been remodeling all their units too so if you're going to be a new tenant you are getting a newly renovated unit. There is a big fenced in dog park. And the hot tub is indoor so it is open year round! The clubhouse was also fully remodeled last year, so it's all new and beautiful. There's even a dog wash station in the clubhouse! They are really good about cleaning their amenities which is so nice because I have lived in many apartments growing up and I would never set foot in their pools. But the pool, hot tub and gym at Sturbridge are always cleaned and maintained. Everyone in the office and the maintenance team are all so amazing and helpful. Turn around time for a maintenance request is usually quick and done if not the same day then the very next day. I loved all the attention to detail from the staff when it came to decorating for the holidays! I only left because I got married and I am moving out of the country. Julie took the time to show me everything she had available and all models. I think I spent over an hour with her and she never seemed rushed or hurried. Like I was the most important person of her day. I am moving the French Creek just because of her. The property was beautiful and well maintained. Twenty minutes later he unboxed the new A/C and pushed it into the wall. Power cord for the unit was on the wrong side so he wrapped it over the top. No insulation, no check to see if level. Told my husband he would address the shoddy install once we moved. He was also an hour late. The unit now bangs like a dresser drawer being kicked shut when it goes into cool mode. The Wall actually shakes hard. My husband had to purchase and install tape to cover up the gap since the frame is no longer flush with the wall. Typical of the work around here.

The people who work there are so nice and very compasionate, however, the people who took over and are running the facility now are not so great. The food is not the best quality and some of the things that were once included in the already high price to live there are now an extra expense. They nickle and dime the people who live there. Not what I would call a "Christian, non-profit" way to run things. If you are in "assisted living" they now want to charge for the food to be delivered. If your are unable to get to the dining room to get your food because you need assistance, how is it OK to charge a fee to deliver the food to these people? I will agee it is a beautiful facility and the grounds are very nice. There are some nice amenities like a beauty salon, a chapel and a Bistro. The Bistro used to be very nice but now the food is not that great and half the time there is nothing in the coolers. I was floored when they charged $3 for one banana. They may put on a nice show when you tour the facility but I say beware. Hopefully, one day it will go back to being run the way St. Mary of the Woods ran it.
