Needing a good local branch after living in Southern California as well a few other states im impressed with the professionalism of the bank employee Leslie Mendoza she has been a life saver when it comes to direction and response in what is needed to a customer. My experience with the mortgage lending operation of this business contradicts my years-long relationship with the firm. The representative was a complete moron, talking down to me as if he had some secret model that more accurately priced my home than local market realities. I decided not to get a second mortgage and sell, at which point the house went into escrow one week after listing, at a price over $150,000 USD more than the little boy's magic knowledge box had told him it would. every time I go in to make a deposit, it is fast. the tellers are all friendly. I have 3 accounts, and one is for when I sell a copy of my book. Quinn, the Rottweiler A Story of a dog Dealing with Cancer. I told the teller about it (I carry copies in my car) he reached into his pocket added his money to the deposit and bough my book. found out he's told all the tellers I talk to about it. After it taking 3 years just to get them to put in an ATM in this rural area; After months getting through the horrid mess of a new platform that is still a disaster; After taking away the best thing about being able to label transactions for tax purposes - replacing it with a less than helpful tagging, they have now taken away deposits with digital banking. This Branch of this Credit Union is beyond amazing. I truly can not put into words what they have done, not only earning the business but how they treat every single soul that banks there. I know this starts with the Branch Manager Todd and trickles out to his staff. He truly cares about your business and needs ! Your not just a "number" to him. You're a MEMBER !!!!! Leslie is 110% amazing. She is so detailed and GOES BEYOND THE EXTRA MILE !! She does more then anyone I've ever dealt with in banking. Leslie works for you like no other, I will only deal with her. I am very pleased with RCU and keep the bulk of my money there. Yet, I keep my political action accounts in other institutions for a lower monthly fee. I am pleased that RCU underwrites many community events including the summer concert series in the park. My biggest beef with RCU is that when the people of the county were advocating for a public bank in 2011, RCU refused to join a public educational forum about banking and how it serves the public. We had representatives on the panel from SBMC and the other credit union. It gave the impression that RCU, which HQ is in Sonoma County, doesn't care about Mendocino County. We had "Move Your Money Day" in November 2011 in which the assets of RCU significantly expanded from people moving their money away from Wall Street banks into credit unions. Yet, RCU was not willing to publicly discuss with the people advocating against Wall Street banks about fraudulent foreclosures and the Fractional Reserve Banking System. read more
