The great Petaluma mill building made exploring downtown Petaluma a wonderful experience…read more We discovered this place on the Hampton Inn Petaluma website, the place we stayed. We were glad that we found it and had spent enough time exploring it without rushing. The rooftop is a great place to overlook the Petaluma River. The view here is truly stunning. I took a lot of amazing pictures and videos. I highly recommend the Refill Mercantile shop as well. It sells gifts, personal, and refillable skincare products. Particularly, the toothpaste tablets are my favorite. It is just next to the famous Wild Goat bistro restaurant. Unfortunately, we found out about this popular place after we had our lunch. All in all, whether you're a first-time visitor or think you have seen it all, it's a fun and entertaining way to discover this historic landmark city!

Deer Creek Village is not a dog park as some of the reviewers lead you to believe. It actually is…read morea shopping center that just happens to have a dog park off in the corner of the grounds. This shopping center has several retailers, places to eat, etc. There's Friedman's, Dunkin' Donuts, Mary's Pizza, Rubio's, Habit Burger, Jamba Juice, Exchange Bank, Smart & Final, City Sports Club,The Nail Bar for those looking for a manicure, Petaluma Hair Company for those needing a hair cut, trim, color, etc., as well as DeVita Dialysis and Sutter Health Plus. There's various art pieces around the shopping center as well as the dog park. The dog park is a great asset to the City of Petaluma as people need places to take their dogs to walk, play and interact. And for those with an electric/clean car there are specific parking spots around the center as well as charging stations for you to charge your car. There is plenty of parking throughout the center. Yes there seems to be more places to eat then shop but since there are several vacant buildings I'm sure they will fill up sooner or later (hopefully sooner).

Great place to let your dog roam in an enclosed well maintained park. Free bags and lots of benches…read moreto sit. No shade though. And lots of trash cans. Right off 101 next to City Sports Club. Highly recommend coming on Tuesdays during the summer for the farmers market with all local Petaluma farms.

While this place once had the very patriotic name of Golden Eagle, it is now Riverfront... since…read moreit's on the river. Everest Indian looked enticing, but I was there for shopping. The layout&signage is still pretty meh, and there's still a panhandler/homeless issue. The Sunrise Donuts was doing a business&they have a Baskin Robbins. It's also one of those parking lots where you have to be mindful of the markings- they have specific ones for the bank&employees. It's a hidden gem of sorts. They have the cleanest Dollar Tree I've been to (and best parking lot, go figure!), and the best Grocery Outlet in terms of selection. It looks&is sketchy... but it's a diamond in the rough. The FTR speaks of the need to redo this place&economic turnaround... and in 7 years, it hasn't changed that much. Petaluma can be pricey, so this is a good place for bargains. While Native Kitchen&Kombucha has shuttered, you can get kombucha for a reasonable price at the Grocery Outlet. Lydia's Sunflower Center in the mostly vacant office building on McDowell is gone, but the Grocery Outlet has affordable vegan/vegetarian goods. The Dollar Tree is a great place for kitchen implements/cleaning items. Golden Eagle/Riverfront is a great place for bargains!
