This is a strictly salt water aquarium store that offers fish, corals, invertebrates, some tanks and stands, along with supplies like food, filters, salt water, and whatever chemicals people add to their tanks (I don't get that far into it, that's all my husband). I have mixed feelings about this shop. I love supporting a local business, and the people here are very nice. They have a decent selection of fish, and many that are uncommon at other similar stores. Their display tank is pretty. They are one of the few places that sells corals. Not all fish stores have cleaning crews available, but they have a good selection of shrimp, crabs, and snails. Also they are the closest store of this type to my home. But they just don't take great care of a lot of their tanks. This seems to be an issue at most aquarium livestock stores, but that's no excuse. It makes me question wanting to support them when I see depressed looking fish swimming around. Maybe they just got them, or maybe they are sick....but there are usually at least a few that just don't look happy. Yesterday I saw a poor tang that looked completely malnourished. Along with this most of their coral tanks were in need of some TLC. Their frags had aiptasia, and were not bright and vibrant as they should be. On our most recent visit my husband and I just bought food and some hermit crabs. There are signs all around marking sales, a lot of the fish say they are 30% off, and the invertebrates were supposed to be 15% off if you bought at least $25.00 worth. When we checked out the cashier gave us our total, and I asked if we'd received the additional discount. She shrugged rather unapologetically and said, "No," but that she could add it. Um....I shouldn't have to remind you of that. The customer before us had to tell her to add a discount as well. If you're going to have all these "sales," your associates should know what they are. Maybe she was new, but I don't want to have to be "that person" that questions the price on everything when I'm checking out. This isn't all to say it's a bad place to do your aquarium shopping. I really want to like it. But just keep these things in mind when visiting. If nothing else at least if you buy a fish you can take him home and maybe give him a little better life. Bought two clowns that had supposedly been quarantined, so they were full price, but died within a week. Other fish and invertebrates are doing great. So steer clear of the clownfish and you should be good. read more

Great place for fish!!!! They have great selection and everyone in store was super helpful. Also very clean. I'm glad I found this place. Kinda hard to find. But great clean place. There are a few things that seem pricey but man places like this make you feel okay for paying the price. read more

I love this little store. We purchased some coral, fish, water barrel, tank, filter socks, diamond blades along with several other things. The stocK is good, the setup is good, the staff is friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable. I love the quarantine system they have and Ashley hand plenty of things avalible for us to purchase. I had left a prior review for ReefOn a few months prior due to some miscommunications and misunderstandings regarding a tank that my husband and I desired to purchase. After a few months and having established our fish tank, we saw that ReefOn was participating in a tour and was auctioning off some corals to those who wish to bid. My husband was intrigued but we had this previous aforementioned experience that had left a bad taste in our mouths. However, we decided to give ReefOn another try, as they had great employees and beautiful livestock which is hard to come by in Utah, it seems. We arrived and began looking at their colorful selection of corals and fish and fell in love with a torch. We picked it up during a sale they were also running which was a great surprise to us! We had our eye on a few other pieces but wanted to see what would be included in the auction. We ran to grab a drink while we waited, as the auction was about an hour away. As we left, there was an extremely friendly woman was outside making hotdogs for all of the ReefOn customers. She offered us a hotdog and stopped to chat with us for a moment. Just a fun customer appreciation/marketing tool which of course, makes everyone happy! We came back for the auction and Jerry, the owner, was playful and extremely nice and let his customers weigh in on the items they hoped to be auctioned off. The auction was fun and my husband and I were able to snag quite a few pieces for half of retail (at least) and it seemed like all of the employees and customers alike were having a great time today. I have visited this place a few times but I have never made a purchase. My most recent visit was the worst. They are always out of stock of most things and what they do have is already pre sold. So there's no point in going there to look around. Also I was informed that they are trying to open new stores in other states so everything was tore apart when I was there. So I don't even know how much longer this store will even be around. Good luck fishing. read more

Great stuff if you can get past the smell of the main employee. Old place was always really dirty looking. New place is way nicer, but last two times I've been in the main guy smells like he hasn't showered all week. Pretty disgusting actually, not just your standard BO either. honestly I shop here a lot! I am quite surprised to see such negative remarks, the staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and passionate. This is one of the best places in the state to buy marine fish. Everyone knows it too..(they get huge bursts of customers then it's quite, you can't plan/staff for that.) you will almost always pay much more at any other shop, fish seem to have a much greater chance of making the trip home from Reef On. the shop is a really old building but it has real charm, I have noticed a lot of recent upgrades and it's always stocked when I visit. ReefOn also carries a lot more corals you don't see if everyones tank, still does have those too, but you see a much bigger variety and fair prices on everything!. read more

Our office has an established tank, we purchase a new cleaner shrimp and it died within a few hours. Tank numbers are in check and has corals and livestock thriving. I was told to bad, but we can give a discount on something else. Done going here. read more
