Yet, this tiny park is the focal point of Naples Island, kept pristine by the Naples Island Garden Club. Rule #1: Don't talk about Garden Club. By the way, on a grander scale, this park is circled by a canal of Alamitos Bay lined with beautiful houses, especially at Christmas. I recommend getting an ice cream cone from the drugstore within walking distance and walking the canals. Actually, all of my recommendations begin with getting an ice cream cone, whether it's indoor skydiving or Anne Frank's House.

Instead of taking the normal route, my parents opted to take the long way there. I was in the back seat, staring out the window at the beautiful scenery. I was in my early teens back then, and this was the song playing on the radio... "Oh, It's you Sweet Baby Ever always been captured by your smile, Sweet baby I will always be right there by your side Right by your side..." (Sweet Baby by Stanley Clarke) As most teens do, I was lost in my thoughts - pensive and focused, wondering what life would be like once I met such a girl. I imagined what a fantastic road trip it would be to take this imaginary girl on a date through this magnificent highway as we visited all the small towns along the way. I've managed to make that young man's dream come true. I found the girl and took her in a myriad of phenomenal dates. I've lived a lifetime filled with love, passion, and wonder. And I have driven down these roads dozens of times in various convertibles - which, by the way, is mandatory for full enjoyment of the beautiful scenery that you are greeted with as you wind down these roads heading south! It's the reason why whenever we visit my family in Northern California, I always endeavor to make the 10-hour trek along the coast. That way, we can always take the long way home. If you don't like road trips because of the dreadful scenery, PCH is a panacea for road trip blues. It's a shot of adrenaline that will engender you to the point that you will want to keep coming back for more to get your fix. When heading south, just past Carmel, you will be greeted with spectacular views of winding roads, the beautiful Pacific Ocean, coast lines that go on for miles, blue skies, flowers, and amazing sunsets. And to top it all off, there are some of the cutest and most idyllic towns to visit along the way. San Luis Obispo is one of our favorites, especially for the fact that is it a very artsy town with plenty of opportunities for poetic expression. My wife was, at one time, a sought-after poet in the local Arizona Poetry scene. So, any situation or place that gets her inspired is fine by me - even if we must drive 12 hours to get there. Then, there's the various historical landmarks along the way, as well. Hearst Castle is a favorite destination of ours. These spots can't be missed! Then, there's the Elephant Seals at San Simeon. There they are, just basking in the sun with nary a care in the world. We often just sit here, enjoy the beautiful ocean view, stare at the seals, and watch the sun set. I always become so pensive whenever we traverse this highway. Even though many years have passed since my first trip here as a teen, I still can't imagine how amazing my life has been, and how lucky I am to have found such an amazing woman in my wife. With our convertible top down, she stares in awe and wonder towards the coastline on her right. As I drive, I catch glimpses her beauty, and as always, I am in awe! The Pacific Ocean is a majestic backdrop to our seemingly endless love affair. I am controlled by her every whim. Stopping when told for picture opportunities, and wandering through the myriad of quaint little towns, I follow this wistful blonde through her child like exploration and discovery. And I, myself, rediscover just how I am overflowing with love for her. If I could capture all those moments that we have enjoyed these road trips through PCH, If I could pick the moments that being with her, enjoying the time that we spent together, these moments could possibly be summed up in this one particular song... From the road, the cliffs showed just how beautiful the water was below that was rarely seen by the passersby cars. There was not much traffic as there were few things to stop at along the way.

I used to live in Buena Park…read more I really enjoyed this city. It's not a bad place to live at all. I lived in an older neighborhood. Buena Park is the home to Knott's Berry Farm and Knott's Soak City Amusement Park. Buena Park has some good spots for entertainment! There's Medieval Times and The Pirates Dinner Adventure show. Those are fun! Buena Park also has Portillo's Buena Park and Porto's Bakery and Cafe! Those are pretty popular spots in this city. Overall, I enjoyed Buena Park a lot.

Priceless In Life, where there's JOY, find it. Peace out, City of Buena Park, just a destination before we reach our spot. Time to explore it. Later. Plaza Buena-which translates to Good Park in Spanish to local settlers. It is known for Knotts Berry Farms & was previously a dairy town in Orange County. To residents, it is an urban suburban mix. It's a fun place to be as well as a place for families to put down their roots. Come visit & check it out for yourselves.

Disappointed the trashes are NOT emptied throughout the day. Restrooms could use more frequent cleaning. I saw an elderly man on a bike with a plunger and a roll of toilet paper. What happened to their work golf carts they used to drive, I felt awful for this employee and he was so kind and patient. Overall another wonderful experience. I do wish someone monitored the speed of the electric bike users, I saw many near misses of pedestrians versus bike riders, including small children. We surely miss Jack's Concession Stand, epic and historical. At $20 per car entry, I think the City of Huntington Beach could do better. Our guests didn't like finding previous day trash in the sand.

Make sure you wear a hat. The weather was lovely though overall because there was a breeze coming in from the ocean. The biggest disappointment was that there were several E bike riders and not only were they loud but very fast and disruptive. There is a sign that says no E bikes, but nobody was enforcing that.

I could even see all the way to Catalina last time I visited. The El Moro Canyon trails are found inside Crystal Cove State Park and there are quite a few of them. They're well maintained with lots of info signs so they're easy to follow - but they're also all on AllTrails. I did the Short Loop Trail on my last visit which ended up being just over 3 miles long with 500 feet elevation gain. Most of the gain is in the first part as you take the "Poles" cut through and it's a real butt burner - but fun and worth it! A great workout. The birding is excellent here - you get a nice mix of riparian habitat and coastal birds as well. After my hike, I relaxed at the beach a bit and it was a lovely way to wind down. There are some tide pools at the north end and plenty of space to relax on the sand as well. There's a pedestrian underpass to get to the beach so you don't have to cross busy Hwy 1 - and this is the most unpleasant part of the park - you have to wade through some pretty icky standing water to get to the beach. It's ankle to calf deep and the ground is very uneven so I highly recommend water shoes - who knows what's submerged in there :P But everything else about the park is great - lots of clean bathrooms, outdoor showers to rinse off the salt and sand, shaded picnic tables, a huge amphitheater, and plenty of paved parking. Day use fee is $15 and you can pay by QR code or at the entrance.

Sky Cabin is located in the Boardwalk at Knott's Berry Farm…read more At the end of the day, the park started to get long lines and crowded, so my 7 and 8-year-olds were desperate to ride as many rides quickly as possible. This is not a thrill ride. You stay seated as a friendly employee briefly discusses the history of the Sky Cabin and surrounding sights with quips and quiddities as it slowly ascends to the top while simultaneously rotating rather slowly. Once the Cabin comes to a complete stop at over 180 feet above the ground, you are free to stand up and take in the "360-degree panoramic view of Orange County and Los Angeles" views. It turned out to be a neat mini adventure. The wait time was nada. That's 'cause everyone and their mamas was waitin' in line for the Timber Mountain Log Ride. Dang it. Enjoy the air conditioned cabin... the only thing I think needs improvement is the clarity of the glass. There were prints and scratches and... bird poop. Lol. TIP + wheelchairs and service dogs may be accommodated on this ride!
