It was here I purchased a small tank and four shabunkems or goldfish ,not the ones you win in a fairground, I am not that good a shot, or throwing rings! Anyway they seem happy still, especially after finding a special filter. Maintenance is the key ,you must change the water about every other month,that means they have to be netted out ,water replaced after cleaning the inside of algae,and then placing them back in their enviroment. Of course do not over feed them! One small finger and thumb serving is ok. They are very soothing watching them swim around.

I recently purchase an aquarium, the necessary paraphernalia and (after having cycled my tank off course) a red and white fantail goldfish (called "Mo"). The staff were really really nice and very helpful...I cannot rave about it enough. They have lots of choice too (fish / plant / tank etc).

They have a wide range of animals available to purchase along with all the various types of food you would need for them. By various types of food I mean the locusts and crickets which they have on tap for the many various lizards in the shop. The staff offer a very good after purchase service where you can call them up for advice as well as bring your pet back to the shop if you need something checked out. There is a small car park around back which you can park for 'free' for 30 minutes. They do have a policy that under 16 year olds cannot purchase pets unless accompanied by an adult, however under 16's can purchase pet food on their own. They have a wide range of pet enclosures for sale, along with spare bulbs, filters, fake and real plants and the list goes on. All in all most definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and want to peruse some amphibian or reptilian pets...

They've got a lot of different kinds of lizzards, snakes, and fish. It freaked my partner out when we went around the corner and found a lot of snakes in glass tanks looking at us, pretty freaky but good to see a pet shop still catering for everything. The store itself is pretty warm inside, probably due to all the heaters and lights for the different types of pets they're selling. I went to this shop to seek advice about improving the water quality of my mature pond of twenty…read moreyears stocked with about 40 goldfish. I was told to ask for chemical to improve the water quality and on arrival was advised to purchase a pump from the shop with light treatment for the water as one was not fitted. To ensure this was correct advice, I asked for the pump to be fitted "at a HIGH COST" 5 minute job and that my pond could be seen. My money was taken at home without a receipt given and within 8 days ALL MY FISH WAS DEAD in consecutive days. I returned to the shop for an explanation to be told "nothing to do with me" and the pump had nothing to do with there death. Further challenging this view Luke the manager said the water quality was too poor and they would have died regardless of the pump. I explained the fish had been there for 20 years and while I am aware the water needed improvement it does not follow they would all die days after the pump is fitted and there was clear "cause and effect" Cut a long story short there was muck In the pond which was visible and the pump stirred it all up killing the fish. While boasting of his many years experience, I asked if he is aware of this why was he so quick to take my money and advise this action. Then he became aggressive saying he could not tell seconds after boasting of his 20 years experience and wealth of knowledge. This shop and customer service I received is a disgrace and no responsibility for poor advice and consequences of their service. He was adamant to blame me, even though 1. he advised the purchase and instillation of this new equipment 2. he came to my home saw the condition of my pond and installed the equipment. 3. boasted about his wealth of experience and his expertise. Even the fish food sold to me was not eaten by my new fish purchased and later told by one other employee when I went back to see the owner/manager that that is mainly for winter and sold to me as they had no warmer weather one in stock. He told me he would re-stock my pond and when I went back offered 15 tiny fish and wanted to argue how many fish I had even when I produced a photo showing my fish before they died. Poor advice, poor customer service and no trust in promises made. Shocking experience and hope I never have one like this again!

I love going to this shop. Not only do I get to buy my cat food, I get to look at the cute rabbits…read moreand guineapigs. My kids love going to look at all the animals, and usually take a bit of bribery to get them out of the shop. I recently discovered the adoption centre at the very back of the store, will probably have to keep the kids away from that bit or will end up coming home with a few!! Good selection of cold and exotic fish, and all the ones I had from here have had long lives!!

I hope by this point you realise that I am talking about a cat. Anyway, my baby Tom was a Molesey boy until he went of to join the great cat heaven in the sky. Nowadays, Molesey pet store rarely sell cats, but occasionally you can find some kittens here. A few weeks ago there were some gorgeous Burmese cats here, but they didn't stay long. They treat what ever animals they have here really well. There are no dogs sold here, which is a good thing - I don't like the idea of pet stores selling dogs anymore. But they do sell plenty of doggy treats for all you pet lovers out there. This is where I pick up my dogs chocolate buttons, which are so much cheaper here then they are in Tesco's. They sell a few different types of birds here, like love birds and parrots. Plenty of fish too, and some bunnies, guinea pigs and hamsters. I melt when I see anything furry or fluffy, so I try not to come in here to much, as I would probably leave with something squeaky.

Sadly, Chris is not for sale. . . He is the owners pet, but he is adorable! My favourite animals are the degus. They are wonderfuly active, and are so cute and fluffy! I would just love one! Right now they are doing a deal where when you buy a cage - hamster cage. You get a free hamster with it. I realise that the hamsters are only £10, but this really helps when it is only three days from Christmas! Anyhoo, I recommend this pet shop to anyone reading this because it is truly delightful, and they will get you a great bargain!
