Our Captain Robert and Mate Dave were extraordinarily helpful, social and family friendly. When an alligator was spotted in the water, we paused for everyone to see, and when dolphins were spotted we slowed and circled-everyone who wanted a photo had a chance to get one. I have been on several cruises in the area, and love the history, but I learned much more this time, as Robert referred to the water, the land, the wildlife and the community we could see, connecting long-ago to recent past to the present. Only the Eagle Island Cruise was being offered when I was in town but a sunset tour is available during part of the year. On even hours, the cruise goes north and you get to see more nature and scenery. This is what I did for my first tour with the company. We did look for alligators but did not spot any. I enjoyed the commentary along the way and the peaceful ride. I enjoyed the tour so much, I returned the next afternoon to take the south tour on odd hours. This one goes under the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge and you see more industrial things with the container ships and cranes. We did see the wood chipping in progress so that was interesting. Then seeing all the international cargo ships loading and unloading containers. Again, there was commentary along the way. The boat was clean and has a large restroom and sells drinks and snacks. I'd take more tours with the company as both were enjoyable and I learned about the area.

I love how everything is included before booking so you don't need to worry about dragging your own booze onto the boat. They take complimentary photo which is pretty nice as well so you can kick back and relax and they catch all the action. There is a ton of space and they welcome people brining their own food if they choose to do so! The tour was three hours and Pontiki brings you through the intercostal waterway and then brings you to one of the island beaches in the marina for an hour. There beach was lovely and there was a really nice sandbar further down the island that my husband and I decided to enjoy. It was about a 10 minute walk from the boat and one of the workers brought us beer all the way over there to enjoy! Great music and they were happy to take requests. Beer pong was also a ton of fun!
