Med pusher on my first virtual appointment. No conversation at all. "You should clean up your diet" before even asking me about my diet.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Dr. Kim Foster helped to give me my life - AND my body -…read moreback. For years I had been struggling with severe stomach bloating and weight gain despite eating moderately and overall eating a very healthy, organic, gluten-free, Paleo-based diet. Every doctor I saw completely dismissed my symptoms - and my deep concern regarding the fact that I could hardly recognize myself anymore (I had gained a great deal of weight in the space of a few years, and my knees were so strained I could no longer participate in adult ballet classes anymore). One provider casually told me to "Take Tums" after I carefully explained some odd digestive distress I was experiencing - NOT helpful, to say the least. I knew at this point that mainstream medicine would be of no use to me at all when it came to this severe bloating I was experiencing. I found Dr. Foster via a google search. After visiting her in person and her running some comprehensive, cutting-edge tests, she confirmed what I had suspected: I was suffering from a severe case of stomach inflammation and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), among other things. This, I realize now, was likely a result of a dying gallbladder that was interfering with my digestive processes, which I have since had taken out. After prescribing a thoughtful blend of herbal and pharmaceutical treatments, the bloating slowly began to recede over a period of two months and the weight began to come off. 6 months after seeing Dr. Foster for the first time, I am 34 pounds lighter and my stomach is flat for the first time in 10 years. I was able to resume my ballet classes and in many ways, at the post-menopausal age of 61, I truly do feel re-born. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Foster and her team, and cannot thank them enough for providing an alternative pathway to healing.

I appreciate how she is willing to partner with me in my health care and respects my needs and wishes. She is professional, knowledgeable in how the body works together (helpful in treating the root cause of health issues) and in various diagnostic tests, those tests that are gold standards and others that may be beneficial, but not necessarily mainstream. She is caring and thoroughly explains treatment options. Dr. Kim is sensitive to patient costs when considering treatment options. I followed a protocol she recommended for me and my health has greatly benefited, even keeping me from having to take recommended prescription medications.

She drew blood to conduct an in-depth analysis of what might be causing symptoms I hoped to correct. When we reviewed the blood results, she promised to follow-up by sending me three things that would explain how to interpret the results and effectively use the supplements I was taking. (She also sold me supplements.) She never has sent me the promised information to understand to test results, nor has she ever responded to me to explain why she abruptly ceased communicating with me. I sent her several more email reminders. I also called and stopped by her office to confirm that she was still working there. Both times, office staff assured me that they were texting her my requests and concerns.

Brooke Bodeen was recommended for thyroid care, and her husband Dusty for acupuncture. The first few months went very well. I developed a particularly strong therapeutic relationship with Dusty, who helped me through PTSD and grief. During that time, however, my chronic fatigue became significantly worse due to major life stressors. I became nearly bedbound during crashes and struggled at times to even cook or shower without help from family. Over the course of two months, I missed three acupuncture appointments. Each time, I told the front desk I would gladly pay the missed appointment fee in full because I understood the impact on the business. After the third missed appointment -- during a severe two-week crash where family had to come help care for me -- I received a termination letter in the mail stating I was no longer allowed to return due to their "3-strike rule." What hurt most was the lack of compassion or flexibility despite my medical circumstances and despite never missing an appointment with Brooke. I reached out and explained my condition, hoping for understanding, but was told coldly that the decision was final. I have always treated the staff with kindness and respect. I understand clinics need policies, but for a practice that presents itself as caring for chronically ill patients, this experience felt deeply impersonal and dismissive. Especially when payment was never the issue. Being discharged has left me in an extremely stressful position, unable to find another PCP or endocrinologist in Eugene currently accepting new patients. I would hope a clinic working with complex chronic illness would recognize that sometimes the very nature of these illnesses makes consistency difficult, and that compassion and grace matter just as much as policy.

I was a patient with Dr Oram all the way from 2016 when I flew in from San Diego monthly to see her…read moreuntil I moved out here to take care of my parents. She was absolutely amazing, I even had my young daughter seeing her in the beginning she had me do test I never even heard of but after my parents passed and I spent thousands and thousands (and yes I kept every receipt.) I continued through my grief only to be pushed on higher pharmaceuticals and less ND results. I mean how can you truly heal when you are grieving 9 massive losses with no resources. She had no one to turn me to. I had already did mindfulness, had my eyes read, so a spiritual healer, everything she told me to do. Then I would go weeks without refills on any medicine because a loyal patient of over 6 years deserves to wait to be seen. One time she even made me wait 4 weeks just to be seen by Telehealth. Which in return ended me in the hospital. After building a close bond with Dr. Oram I really had to think about writing this review. However as her practice grew and her ability to care didn't I could see it was time to move onto a new ND. Let me clear if you are a cash patient and she only takes a handful of insurance then money comes before your health. Not to mention the wait time after you arrive for your appointments. Expect a good 30 - 40 minute wait after your scheduled appointment to get into see her and then the price is always changing. I read other reviews that someone replied they were never a patient that is not true. There is no way all 8 patients never saw Dr. Oram when she was once the top ND in Eugene. I'm glad I finally took my health elsewhere because the last conversation she told me was I would have to pay for my appointment before seeing her because I had missed 4 appointments in 6 years. Prayers to whoever you decide to take on your medical news but find someone who general cares. Many blessings.

Much to the credit of her care, they are very healthy, however today was the exception. When I picked up my son from school today, he was in excruciating pain in his ear. I instantly called their office, and Dr. Oram stayed late in order to see him. I was so appreciative. She truly cares about each of her clients, and runs her business from compassion. This is not the first after hours work she has done for him, either. A few years ago, she called me after hours to discuss some of his lab results. I was shocked. I have never had a doctor so dedicated to my health and that of my family! I highly recommend her services! PS - Tonight my son is already feeling better from the ear drops she gave him. So grateful!

The online portal only allows messages to the office staff - not even the nurse's line or anything. And phone calls and messages are not returned. I would not be surprised if my doctor never even saw any messages. This is an ongoing problem.

I have to start with the fact that I used to work for various clinics, hospitals, and ambulance…read moreservices: receptionist, double insurance biller, collection, and was responsible for insurance coding for Medicare and Medicaid, as well as Champus and other private insurance. I sat in on the introduction to HIPAA before it was a law and helped with the wording in Ohio. I was shocked when I received their new patient paperwork (after requesting twice that it be sent rather than done online in their portal), and I reviewed their legal demands. Firstly, they expect a patient to sign a legal affidavit holding them "hold harmless" for any HIPAA breaches. They require credit card information should anything not be covered by pre-approved insurance and are not responsible for re-billing insurances should the claim fail. They do not take cash/checks and will expect you to pay in full at the time of your visit. There is something wrong here. For one, if the client is DSNP (medicare/medicaid), asking for upfront money is illegal under CMS laws and could be considered "double dipping."(getting patients to pay bills prior to service, then billing the insurance for care anyway). Secondarily, patients should be allowed sufficient time to go over any legal contract with any company, and hopefully they could review this with a billing office or an attorney since they are signing agreements that are considered financially binding. When is it now a matter of fact that patients need to sign harmless paperwork as a course of action for medical care? I doubt that any patient could or would agree to sign a legal document prior to being seen by an office, without any guarantee that the office could even help them prior to a "meet and greet."? They cannot ascertain if they can even work with your condition prior to an entrance interview, as they do not vet their clients when scheduling a first appointment. I shudder to think of someone signing this level of patient responsibility when they are not given more than 10 minutes to go over this contract they make you sign, and furthermore, if the patient does not have current technology (computer, cell phone, etc) their paperless system is out of reach for this clientele. It's a very adversary relationship they are assigning here to patients. After reading several reviews I am glad I chose to walk away, but wanted others to know that their requirements (for using portals, legal signatures, and prepayments) are not typical for the medical industry.
