Walked in for a hair cut. The hairstylist did an average job. Every time I asked her or instructed her about my hair, she gave expressions as she was forced to do the job. On the payment desk I learnt that they do not accept Credit card and the hair stylist suggested that I could withdraw Cash from nearby ATM. As I headed out 2-3 employees came running after me saying that you have not paid for the services. At that moment, it was a rude shock to me. I headed back inside and told them that I would have to drive to my bank nearby and withdraw cash as the nearby ATM had additional fees and I would leave my phone number, to which the lady replied rudely that you better leave your credit card here, we have had instances of people walking away not to return back. Off course I did not want more of it so I withdrew money and paid them cash at that instant. My overall experience was of humiliation. This place does not understand Customer Service at all. Their hair cutting is average, staff does not want to converse with customers and not having Credit Card as a payment method is a huge inconvenience. read more

I purchased an online deal for a haircut and blow dry for Reflections. I made my appointment for a Saturday morning without any issues. When I walked in, I was a little worried because it seemed to have much older clientele and "old lady salon" popped into my head. Luckily I stayed and I'm glad I did! Cindy cut my hair and she did a great job. I have long hair and wanted to keep the length, but add some layers for more volume. She did exactly what I wanted and I was very happy. She was also very friendly and gave me a 20% off offer for my next visit, which I plan on using. Overall, a no-frills salon that gets the job done! read more

Italian grandmother who does blow out's ; no one knew how to use a flat iron; they all sat around drinking dunkin donuts- oh and than there is the rude blonde who shall remain nameless- she was disgustingly rude considering she's in a customer service business. This is clearly a new place so, keep that in mind. I believe they are still looking for stylists and other staff so they're not exactly 100% staffed I guess. The woman who works at the front desk is very nice. I had a $25 Groupon and I am glad that I decided to go with this place. It is located in a shopping center near a CVS so, it can be a little hard to find if you're like me and thought it was just on its own lot. The stylist Melissa I think her name was, did a great job. I had a party to go to that day and I got a lot of compliments on my hair. I got the impression that she was kind if new but everyone has to start somewhere. In short, this place has a lot of potential. Plus it's not a chain place so they definitely have kudos for being small business owners. They do a great job and it's totally wirth it. read more

Had a great experience here! Bought a Groupon for a cut/color and was easily able to make an appointment when I wanted to. I got a root touchup and Jen did a wonderful job choosing the exact color I needed. The hair dryer was a bit too hot to sit under, but I left with a great color and cut which was most important to me. I'll second that the vibe is more of an "old lady" salon, but that didn't particularly bother me. Reflections is worth checking out! read more

An unprofessional salon in every sense of the word, from taking the appointment, to the conduct of the some of the staff, to the actual cut. Where is the owner to be found? But this not the least of it. At my last cut the stylist seemed to be unsteady on her feet. No one should be at work when they are in that state, especially if you are using sharp tools. lt goes without saying, go somewhere, anywhere else. The above review is my opinion. read more

Found this place on Groupon and made an appointment because the deal seemed decently priced -- $50 for partial highlights, cut and blow dry. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the receptionist. She was very nice. I was then walked over to the lady who would be doing my hair. She seemed incredibly annoyed to have me. I don't even remember her name or if she even told me what it was. No handshake. Not even a smile. Throughout the entire process, the lady doing my hair was 100% quiet. No one working at the salon bothered saying anything to me. Everyone walked around as if they hated their job. It was all bad vibes. As for my hair, it's not the color I was expecting. It definitely looks a lot darker than it was before. The woman did an amazing job at blowing out and straightening my hair though! However, I will not be going back. read more

Tried this place for my first haircut after moving to East Brunswick. Remember that I took an appointment and walked there in my running tights which sparked a conversation about running, and my hairdresser's recent interest in it. So the conversation was interesting without being put-on and my haircut was fine - got layers on my shoulder length hair - and the wallet was lighter by around 80 bucks (including a 20% tip). No complaints, but I haven't been back in 2 years because I found a better place - more affordable, better service, better styling. read more

Despite a disorganized start they provided a great cut & color. We had an appointment for 9:15, and arrived about 9am. The sign said closed, so we called and it went to voicemail. We waiting in the parking lot and around 9:40 say two people waiting by the door we walked over & the man said 'we don't open until 10!' That was a little shocking. When we said who we spoke to on the phone no one knew who that person was! So that wasn't the greatest start to the appointment. A younger girl provided the cut/color. She was a little nervous. She did ask for help from another stylist and everything turned out great. She took her time, total time was around 2hrs. It's a great cut/color just started off a little disorganized. I get my hair colored and cut here all the time. I go to Melissa and show her pictures of what I am looking for and she makes suggestions for my hair type and gives me the exact color and style I am looking for every time. And I have some difficult, extremely thick, dry hair. Some have responded that this seems to be an "old Lady" salon but personally, they have many stylists who specialize is different styles, men, Women, Color, Keratin, etc. From what I have seen, they can accommodate anyone of any age. read more

NASTY, NASTY, NASTY. I had a Groupon thru which I had made an appt for color, cut and blow out. I got there on my appt. time at 12:30 pm and checked in. 10 min later I ask the front desk lady about when I would get started, she informs me in about 10 minutes, so I wait another 10 min. 20 min of waiting and I check in again, and she tells me another 10 min, there is only one girl Melissa who does Groupon. After 1/2 hour of waiting I see that this girl is still coloring the previous, since 11 am, person's hair. In the meantime, another customer comes in and is taken back. After some talk, the Groupon girl is now washing her hair. I check with the front, I get the same response. Another stylist who was basically tweedling her thumb chimes in saying I could just go to Groupon and get my refund. The owner comes over and asks if I have never had to wait an hour at a doctor's office? They are a hair salon and run late. At this point I was done - this people have poor customer service, are rude and the owner is a buffoon, equating her strip mall hair salon to a Doctors office and profession. I use Groupon often for hair services and have pleasant experiences in the past at many other salons. Please I urge you all, do not go to Relefections in East Brunswick, NJ. I purchased a groupon to try out this salon, Made an appointment quick and easy for the following week. A few hours before my appointment I got a call that they needed to reschedule. I accepted and rescheduled, no big deal. When I finally went in for my new appointment I was greeted nicely and my hairdresser was nice. I just wanted a trim to clean up split ends and uneven strands. She washed cut and dried my hair in 20 mins which was great but then as I was leaving the lady at the counter said "I just need $10 from you". I was a little confused and asked why, she told me that since my hair was long they charge an extra $10 on top of what I already paid. (The groupon did state this) However I pointed out that I did not get much done to my hair, it was a quick 10 minute cut plus the other 10 minutes for the wash and blow dry. She proceed to say that since my hair is long it takes longer for the hairdresser to cut my hair. Again I was only in the building for 20 minutes. I feel that $10 was a scam and unfair for getting less than an inch cut off my hair and the short amount of time I was there. I wish I had been warned when I walked in that I would have to pay the $10, not after I already went through the hair cut. I was happy with the cut and at first would be happy to go back, however after the $10 fee and the poor reasoning for it I will not be returning. read more

The staff here are very nice. However, cutting hair is something they're not good at. My aunt asked me if I cut my own hair because it looked so bad. My friends asked me what was wrong with my hair. That's what I get for going with a groupon I guess. I asked for a layered haircut, which I didn't think was too difficult. I had to spend more money to go to a different salon to cut my hair again, which I didn't really wanna do because I wanted my hair to stay long, but Now I have to wait for it to grow again. read more

I bought a Groupon and was minimally happy with my cut and color. The stylist did not do the highlights close to my scalp so my roots were showing a lot. I was also not happy with my bangs as I wear them piecey but they were cut straight across. The atmosphere was unprofessional as everyone was eating and not discreetly at all, although they did not push sales . The stylist did not engage in conversation at all but gossiped about drinking with another stylist the whole time. Thumbs down will not be returning. Salon DP LARONA is much better in my opinion and they also offer a glaze/toner for an additional fee which brings out the color and makes it look more natural. read more

I can't give zero stars although that's what they deserve...I need to let everyone know that at Reflections Hair Salon - 318 Rues Lane, my not yet teen daughter was going there for over 2 years. Everytime she would do the color on the end the color would come out in less than a week. But my daughter loved Melissa, so she kept going back. Would never cut more than an inch and for a couple of streaks would charge me $70. I paid it like a fool. This time my daughter wanted extensions; she told me after she ordered them and started to dye them they were $286!!!! So I was honorable and PAID like a dummy. This was last Friday. The extensions looked terrible and were uneven. By Sunday 3 extensions had fallen out. Then by Monday 2 more, etc. Until this morning, less than a week, 11 total had fallen out, more than half. When my mother brought my daughter there today they took them out and had the nerve to say that they usually charge to have them removed!!! Unbelievable. DO NOT GO THERE. I know the people from Constantino's just moved in but the crowds just make it worse. They don't know what they're doing. read more
