We ultimately purchased four bracelets and some earrings that ended up costing $150. I'd say that was pretty pricey honestly. I mean the beads were nice, but not like some expensive/rare stones. I understand part of the charge is labor, but not sure I'd say it's worth that price. Not to mention, one of the bracelets broke after only wearing it once so we need to return to have it repaired-which is inconvenient since we live in Chicago. Amy and Noah are so personable and knowledgeable and we're so patient and helpful as we made decisions. I'd also like to credit that Noah spent an equal amount of time with my husband deciding what ring he'd like. Oftentimes the bride gets a lot of the attention, so this was very special and memorable for my husband. We were so impressed by them, we also worked with them to create a custom ring for my mom and purchased a necklace for my husband's mom. Just now I dropped off my beloved late grandmother's engagement ring that I inherited because it lost a tiny stone. They were super sweet about advising what would match, and they said I don't need all the prongs redone now but they will be happy to check it any time (twice a year) and let me know when. I found their prices to be impressively reasonable. My mom was a little worried thinking such a nice independent place would be pricy, but it's totally reasonable. I don't see myself ever using another jeweler.

I showed her what I was looking for, and the only option I got was that it needed to be customized. Never went over pricing or what steps go into the customization process . She showed me maybe 7 in store bands but nothing was anything like I envisioned. I wasn't asked if I had any other styles in mind besides the first picture I showed. She was so friendly, genuinely loves what she does, and likes making people happy (you can tell). I found my band right away - it was her first recommendation as to what would go with my engagement ring. My husband, on the other hand, had a few rings ordered to be sent to the store to try before he bought. He didn't love either, so Karin recommended a ring that was almost a combination of the 2. He had to buy it before seeing it though as it was custom made. Needless to say, he made the right decision. His ring is great too. He also purchased a fab necklace for me for the actual wedding day from Kloiber which I love! Over the last few months, I have been into Kloiber (the new location is in the US Bank building - go up the main escalator to the Galleria level and you will practically run into it) several times - ring sizing, ring cleaning, ring pick up, necklace shortening, etc. I'm sure it would be fine if you just stopped in (ring the bell), but I would suggest making an appointment - they are very good by email as well. The German Shepherd says he needs some money for home renovations, so the surprised new bank officer asks if he has any collateral. The canine offers up this antique artsy-fartsy thing saying it's worth a lot of money, he got it at On and On Milwaukee for much less than it's actually worth because the prices at this antique store are so reasonable. The lending officer is at a loss, this just wasn't covered in her extensive training so she excuses herself to see the bank manager for advice. She tells him "there's a German Shepherd who can talk who wants money for some renovation work, but all he has to secure it is this vintage thing I don't even know what it is, what should I do?" So the manager tells her, "It's a knick knack Patty Black, give the dog a loan." I'm sorry I don't actually know if they allow dogs in here, talking or not. They do sell all sorts of unusual art and antiques at very reasonable prices and it's right next to a wonderful wine bar and an excellent coffee shop.
