My husband purchased my engagement ring from Karin at Kloiber and it is amazing. He originally bought the setting he liked a while ago at another store and Karin really helped him through the process and made recommendations for a diamond that I would love AND that would complement the setting. Not only did she find a diamond that would fit in the setting, she found the most fabulous diamond. The ring is absolutely gorgeous. I got a chance to meet Karin when we went back to Kloiber to look at wedding bands. I saw why he chose to purchase the ring there. She was so friendly, genuinely loves what she does, and likes making people happy (you can tell). I found my band right away - it was her first recommendation as to what would go with my engagement ring. My husband, on the other hand, had a few rings ordered to be sent to the store to try before he bought. He didn't love either, so Karin recommended a ring that was almost a combination of the 2. He had to buy it before seeing it though as it was custom made. Needless to say, he made the right decision. His ring is great too. He also purchased a fab necklace for me for the actual wedding day from Kloiber which I love! Over the last few months, I have been into Kloiber (the new location is in the US Bank building - go up the main escalator to the Galleria level and you will practically run into it) several times - ring sizing, ring cleaning, ring pick up, necklace shortening, etc. I'm sure it would be fine if you just stopped in (ring the bell), but I would suggest making an appointment - they are very good by email as well. Just to be clear, they are a higher end jewelery store, located on the second level of the US Bank Center. But, they do have a watchmaker who comes in on Wednesdays, but only Wednesdays. $16 for a battery replacement. Polite service. read more

This year for the holiday my husband decided to give me a gift I had hoped for a long time. He selected a pair of diamond earrings from Kloiber. Karin has always been our go to person for jewelry purchases. She is very knowledgable and goes the extra mile. I had hoped for earrings I could basically wear with everything...from evenings out to yoga. As the ones I received from my husband were a little too dressy, she helped me find just the right thing and I've worn these beautiful diamond hoops every day since. She definitely took the time to make certain I was satisfied. I had the same experience a few years ago when looking for a dinner ring and together we found the stunning blue zircon ring I've worn to every party and wedding. Karin's new store is beautiful and a perfect setting for the many lovely pieces on display. We recently moved to California but it's still easy to work with Kloiber, only now we do it online. It was a terrible experience trying to work with the Karin, the owner of Kloiber Jewelers. I haven't had any experiences like it, and I hope to never again. I was insulted, told to get my lawyers, misled, and outright lied to. I have never been told to "get my lawyers". I mean, who says that to somebody? It was absurd. I had gone in and seen some engagement rings and found one I liked except for one detail. I figured it must be a reputable business, given its location and 80 years of business in Milwaukee so I felt fine working with it. I ordered a ring over the phone that was "the exact same" as what I liked, but had "the one thing I didn't like" removed. So I gave a $2000 deposit. When I went to pick up the ring, it was very different from the one I had liked. Sure, it didn't have the one detail I didn't like, but the measurements were the same, and it had extra details which made it look ridiculous. So I tried to refuse, and said that I wanted my money back because it was not the ring I requested. I was then accused of not being able to afford the ring, and I was told I would have to get my lawyers. Like I have lawyers. Who just has lawyers? I don't get in to legal trouble, and I don't typically get involved in transactions that require lawyers. Thanks for being my first, Kloiber! I went to a different jeweler in a different city, who my parents knew. This is a great guy who donates much of his money, does not take advantage of customers, is generous with his time, and tries hard to help people find a ring that works for them. My parents know him personally, and he is very reputable. He told me that I was sold an overpriced ring, and that Karin was either lying or uninformed when she told me about the blue fluorescence being the real kicker that made the stone beautiful. Blue fluorescence is not a positive aspect of a diamond, and it can in fact greatly lower the value of a diamond. I was able to get some money back from the "non-refundable deposit" after I was told by multiple lawyers that that is not a legally binding deal, but I still lost a large amount of money with nothing to show for it. It was an incredibly terrible experience, and she was a very rude and mean person. It is not often that I am talked to like that and it sticks with you for awhile. It made an experience that should have been enjoyable into a stressful experience. Please save yourself the trouble of having to deal with someone like this, and please do not let a mean-spirited person find success in Milwaukee. I don't know what other alternatives there are in Milwaukee, but certainly there has to be something better than this. Also, most of the rings I saw were not "custom-made". She ordered most of hers online from what I can tell. So I guess her markups are warranted given how difficult it is to order something online. I mean, if i could only get paid for ordering things off amazon, I would be able to afford the things I purchase on amazon. read more

I was very picky, but she kept searching and presenting me with new options until I found the perfect ring. She was very respectful of my price range, even providing me multiple price options for each ring I looked at. She used her extensive connections to help me get a custom-made ring designed especially for a specific diamond I wanted to use. She was very honest and straightforward in informing me of the benefits and drawbacks of certain metals and ring designs, which was very helpful in making my decisions. She even gave my fiance a nice crystal ring dish to hold her ring when she's not wearing it. We will definitely be returning to Kloiber Jewelers to buy our wedding rings.
