I have been coming here the last 3 years with my mom to celebrate mother's day. We soend the weekend at Grand Cascades Lodge and then book massage services to enjoy during our stay. The layout of the spa is amazing with a room at the end with rotating chairs with a foot soaking station and the option of water, tea or champagne. My girlfriends and I LOVE this spa. It is the real deal. Serine, relaxing and absolutely enjoyable. From the moment you walk in you are relaxed. The waiting room is comfortable and warm. You are offered chocolates and flavored water while you wait. The therapists are very skilled and friendly. After you treatment you are taken to another waiting room where you can join your party and enjoy a complementary foot soak while sipping on champagne and eating truffles. They book up super quickly so call well in advance of when you want to visit. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I have been a patron of this spa for a very long time. My husband would get me a gift card for every holiday and sometimes, just because. Years ago, the spa would be a relaxing and decadent treat to enjoy. The massages were good, the atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly and the amenities were spot on. Over the years, the quality of everything started to go down. The place was definitely showing wear and tear. On more than one occasion, the wall fountain and the foot soak in the crystal room was broken, showing the limestone scale from the water. The chairs in that room were well worn before they decided to change them. The shower in the steam room by the pool was broken. In the waiting lounge you would be offered macaroons and tea.In the crystal room, you would be offered champagne and a truffle chocolate. They changed from truffles to dove chocolates and eliminated the macaroons. The towel I was offered to dry my feet was dingy and threadbare. I have used better rags to wash a car! The staff used to be very attentive and friendly but that too, changed. The last straw was recently, when my husband bought me a gift card for 2 massages, with tax and tip included. When he bought it they wrote exactly that in the card holder. This was to make sure that when I went to the appointment everything would be covered for me. When I arrived I told the clerk that I had the gift card and she said we would take care of it after the treatment. When I went into the locker room I went to sit down on the seat and it was broken and I almost hit the floor. I then wen to use the steam room only to find out the door was broken and wouldn't close. When my treatment was completed, I went out to the clerk to clear the bill. Well, since my husband bought the card, the price of a massage was increased by $40 dollars! I told the clerk she had to put it in at the old price. She then said she had to talk to her manager. She called the manager, who then said that she was not going to honor the gift card at the old price!! This was in the beginning of July. I had originally thought he bought the card for Christmas. I told the clerk that I was not going to pay more. She then started to text back and forth to the manager, who never bothered to come out in person or even get on the phone with me. She told the clerk that I would have had to use the card within 6 months of buying it in order for them to honor the old price. Well, come to find out, he bought the card in the beginning of May! So it was only 2 months after he bought it! The manager, by text to the clerk, finally agreed to honor the card. This manager needs to have a tutorial on how to professionally respond to a customer. It was EXTREMELY unprofessional of her to not address me either in person or even on the phone. With the increase in price to an exorbitant amount, $170 for 50 min! and the lack of amenities, I foresee this spa losing a lot more business. I know I will never go back again. read more

Amazing atmosphere, great customer service, and very relaxing. However, my massage was just okay. I was very specific about what areas to focus on and while the massage therapist did just that, she was not as thorough as I would have liked. I love to visit spas, and this one was certainly a treat! From the time you arrive off the elevator from the hotel lobby, you feel as if you have entered a special place. An interesting decor consisting of shades of red and crystals welcome you to relax and leave your stresses behind. The welcome desk, could be a little nicer, as another reviewer has also noted, but I wouldn't call them rude. This is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The locker area was nice, but cozy. There are two waiting areas, which can be utilized by both men and women. This seemed to surprise some guests. The two rooms are identical, again cozy but offering delightful nibbles of sweets, waters, and teas. The treatment room which I used was lovely. I had a wonderful massage by a therapist who was very professional. After treatment, you are guided to a little piece of heaven on earth. A room with comfy chairs where you are given a goblet of champagne and your feet are placed in bed of sea salts. You move your tootsies around and around in the salt rubbing away any rough spots or dryness. Afterward, your chair is swiveled around to a pool of warm water to rinse the salts. Yum. I recently spent a "girls" weekend at the Grand Cascades Lodge. We received services from the Spa on both days; Saturday was a massage, Sunday was a facial and all was wonderful. When I got home on Sunday I realized that my face had an allergic reaction to one of the products used in the Chai Soy Facial (I do have very sensitive skin). I called the Spa and spoke to a woman named Michelle; instantly she was understanding! She apologized profusely about any issues that I was having and refunded me the price of the facial! I really appreciated the care that Michelle took in my issues and I would recommend this spa to anyone who wanted great treatments! I booked a mother to be massage online, and when I got there, they wouldn't massage me because I wasn't far enough along in my pregnancy and it was a liability. No where online did it say you had to be 12 weeks. No one asked at the front desk. No form about medical history. What's worse, they didn't offer me any other service, told me they were busy bc it was a holiday weekend. I checked my phone immediately after. It still says nothing about 12 weeks. Really low rate service compared to other spas I've been to. Go to Mohonk instead. read more

I have been to Reflections before and it's a great spa. This time I had a therapist that was way too cautious about working on a pregnant woman- I was getting a pre-natal massage- so while the massage was decent, it wasn't nearly as good as it has been in the past. I have had pre-natal massages before and know that you are allowed to use more pressure than this masseuse was comfortable with. I can't remember her name, but would definitely inquire about this before booking a pre-natal massage at reflections. read more

It was odd that although I arrived early I was not given any questionnaire to fill out. Every spa that I've visited request this document to know the best way to treat a client especially if it's their first visit to the spa. I must have chosen the worst week because there were so many people at the spa it was impossible to relax in the relaxation lounge. Did the resort overbook. My service was a body scrub and she did a great job; the champagne, chocolate was a nice touch. The facials were excellent! and that's all the positive feedback I have. The pricing and service otherwise was so out of whack. My husband and I had a couples massage, which we've had at Hand & Stone several times before. This was triple the cost and a third of the benefit/service. It left a lot to be desired compared to our previous experiences. (Again, not true for the facials - if you're considering a service just head there and get out!) Otherwise we made the mistake of booking our relaxation time for a Saturday where the place is like a chop shop, hustling through one bridal party after another. Came here for a moms night away and was so looking forward to my massage. It was just awful. The spa is decorated in bright red tones with backlit walls with crystals hanging from the ceilings. Not exactly what I'd consider relaxing or elegant, but it was fine. It was the actual service itself that was beyond disappointing. My therapist came to get me in the waiting area at least 10 minutes after all my friends went in for their massages. Once she got me and I got settled on the table and she returned, she immediately started coughing. Cough cough cough. I was cringing trying not to let it bother me but it was so bad that she told me she needed to leave to get a throat lozenge. She came back a few minutes later and continued to hack as she started the massage. When I was on my back (face up) she started taking deep breaths and blowing out (as if she was trying not to cough) but was of course exhaling right into my face. I was so turned off by this point it was impossible to relax. The massage itself was harried and fast and the worst I've ever had. She dumped oil into her hands and then massages my face, dripping the oil into my eyes. Also used tons of oil in my hair. I seriously almost started crying. I never ever complain but felt I had to in this situation. They gave me 20% off the service which was appreciated. I will not be returning which is sad because The pool and lunch today was awesome. read more

My other half and I visited this spa this past Saturday morning after booking our treatments just a few days in advance. We have been visiting spas within a few hours of where we live and after finding this place while doing some internet research, we thought it sounded great. After seeing the high prices of rooms at the lodge, however, we decided to stay at a quaint little B&B, Alpine Haus (which was perfect and a great deal at just 100 a night!) just down the road from the lodge. The spa itself has a very glamorous, rich feel to it. It is smaller, though. There are two small lounges (they are the same, just one for men and one for women and then there is the bigger room for the complimentary foot soak after your services). In the lounges are bite size pastries, chocolates, and then loose leaf tea, antioxidant water and champagne. The ladies locker room is not very big but doable, with two bathrooms, a nice-sized steam room, two showers, and the lockers (this area is crammed.) There is no jacuzzi or anything else like that. The treatments were very good...we had a couple's massage (which was one of the best massages I've had in a while) and a volcanic clay body ritual, which was not bad. The lady that did my treatments was very nice and listened to what I wanted. One of the things I didn't like about the spa was that once my treatments were done, they started to try to shoo us out of there. It was booked solid that day, so I recommend going during the week when it's not as busy. There are also not any other rooms where you can go to relax afterwards (besides the complimentary foot soak and champagne). So once you're done, you're done. We were hoping to get access to the beautiful Biosphere pool complex at the hotel after the spa (after having spent $400+ there), but they told us it would cost an extra $50 a person just to use the pool since we are not hotel guests. (The spa is not owned by the Hotel and that's why it's not included). That was another minus for us. All in All it was a nice experience, but I probably won't be going back since it is almost 5 hours away from home. I definitely will be visiting the Spa at the Hotel Hershey again, though! Dazed & confused. Poor direction/instructions. Not worth the money. My boyfriend was sent to the locker room & told to the wait In the lounge after he got into robe. We said our goodbyes. I walked into the ladies locker room & shown the door to lounge. Was never shown the steam room. It wasn't even mentioned. Turns out we would both end up in the same lounge. Oddly dark with red lighting. We had separate massages & both were just ok if not mediocre. Way overpriced for what we experienced. Be careful with the 'add in' services. You think you'll be getting an additional 15 minutes but you're actually getting the same 50 minute massage but charged $25 more. Others mentioned chocolate after the service in the foots soak area. That never happened for us. Upon checking out, the same non instructions were given to a couple checking in for their treatments. Different receptionist, same vague instructions. They said they goodbyes & I told them they would end up together In The lounge. Would not go back. read more

I made an appointment for my bridal hair and makeup trial at reflections spa and salon in grand cascade lodge. I asked for an appointment with their best stylist/artist. The trial was very expensive. The girl assigned to do my hair and makeup was very young and extremely inexperienced. She offered NO styling options and just continued to ask me what I wanted while impatiently huffing and puffing. I thought she was supposed to be the professional "stylist". Although my makeup was o.k. It was nothing out of the ordinary. No primer was used and no airbrush either It was not professional makeup and they don't even offer false eyelash applications. The staff in the salon is not qualified to do bridal makeup or hair. Don't even waste your money trying. My experience was horrible and expensive. read more

We did not use spa services. Service at the hotel was massively inconsistent. Bell staff was rude and confrontational. When we arrived, we were not offered help with our bags. Upon departure, three bellman were outside having a conversation. When I interrupted, one guy became very confrontational, rude, and kept complaining that he had just arrived. By contrast, a server went out of his way to compensate for the hotel's broken phone system. We could not reach room service and the restaurant server offered to bring our dinner to our guest room - great guy and excellent service. By contrast, again, we hung the breakfast tag and the delivery person forgot our meat. She said she would be right back. Twenty minutes later, a different person delivered cold bacon. He apologized and said the the manager would give me a call. No one called. The cost for the inedible meal was removed. Rooms are a little dated but ok. It is the service that is profoundly inconsistent. Avoid this place until service is not dependent on the mood of the employee at the time that they happen to engage a guest. read more

Wow! What can I say! I thought that the spa was sooo unprofessional from top to bottom! The staff, and I mean all the staff, was very pushy and unhelpful with all aspects from the time u walked in the door to finish! As s new client, they did not tell me where to go after the locker room! I waited until someone finally came and called my name and said that the therapist had been waiting for me in the other room! "WHAT OTHER ROOM"! Had no idea! I was more stressed when I walked out of the spa then before I got there! Did not address my concerns, it wasn't worth my time! They didn't give me what I paid for and I hope whomever is in charge of this circus spa think twice about getting more mature and professionally women to work for them! I also work in the cosmetic plastic surgery business and I would never allow such a stressful place for my clients and patients!
