I'm Team Nico! I have been trying to find a new stylist for so long after the prices at my previous salon were not working for me. I posted on FB to look for someone would be able to do my hair, as I need somewhere accessible to get my hair done because I just had ankle surgery. Nico responded, told me about her services, and was transparent about the cost. I cannot say how blown away I was by her service. I was nervous as I haven't really been out of the house due to healing and she made me feel so confident about being in the salon. She treated me like I was at home. She would take my crutches then bring them back and walk me to the different chairs and would always help me up or down from the chairs. When the service was completed I felt like a new better version of myself. I was beautiful again and there was no better feeling. Nico was so attentive to me and kind. She even brought me out to my uber and opened the car door for me. Quality and care makes a good service but she went above and beyond. I look forward to getting my hair done by her again! read more

After a really poor quality haircut at my previous salon, I needed to find a new salon and stylist while my hair grew out. I stumbled upon Reflektion on Yelp and decided to give it a try, as it was remotely close to home, easily accessible via transit options, and had a lot of good shops I like close by! Booking at the salon as a first time client was super easy. I filled out a form and was contact via text. The scheduling staff was very helpful. Since then, I've booked appointments at the front desk when I'm in the salon on my way out -- also seamless! The salon itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. All of the products they use smell great and are good for you. The bathroom is especially cute, as pictured in the photos I have quickly snapped after a my last two cuts. I got matched with Reyna who is a gem. She really takes the time to listen to what I want out of my hair cuts and maintenance in between. Reyna is so fun to talk to and I have greatly appreciated her recommendations (K18, in particular) to help improve my hair health. She was not pushy at all when it came to purchasing the product at the salon, which I also appreciated! My hair has been exactly what I wanted each time I've gotten it cut. I look forward to coming in every few months & will continue to see Reyna, although I'm sure the other stylists are just as talented and kind! read more

I've been looking for a good hair salon to go to for a while to dye my virgin hair, and I wanted it to be a first and amazing hair experience. I stumbled upon Reflektion salon up North in Chicago on TikTok, and looked them up and liked their work. They even match you with a hairstylist who fits with your hair needs and personality. I was paired with Nicole (@nicolebartistry) and booked a consultation, totally free, which I liked. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, everything was going well, and I was having a nice conversation with her. Now and then, she kept showing me how the color was coming out with my hair wet, which obviously, the hair dye shows up dark when it's wet, and we kept going darker and darker. I'm also a girl who doesn't know anything about hair dye, so I was putting all my trust in her on how many times she was going back and forth with the dye to make it darker. It wasn't until she finally did the blowout that, instead of having a nice caramel fall color with little reddish undertones, I had red hair instead! I showed pictures at my consultation and even on the day of my appointment. Some parts of the hair weren't even dyed correctly or at all. I wanted to cry at the moment, but I believe I'm too nice a person not to make a scene and embarrass others in public, so I left. I will talk to her in private about it via DM, but the damage was already done. I did not want to go back and waste my time, plus pay again. I paid over $400 and even more since she was recently promoted. The hair color did not look bad on me, but it wasn't what I wanted, and it was poorly done. As feedback, I hope the salon reviews the work of their hairstylists and that their expertise reflects the cost that their clients are paying for. read more

Nikki (Nicole) does an amazing job on my hair. I'm blonde and I've been going to her for years and now go to RefleKTion since works here! Highly recommend her if you're looking for a new stylist. RefleKTions new location is super cute, very clean and everyone in the salon is very kind. They give you water with fruit or your choice of beverage. This is great because my appointments are always behind schedule, which is why I knocked them 1 star, however they provide great service otherwise. It's not a huge deal BUT my scheduled appointment this time was 4:30, they asked me to come at 4:15 so I changed my arrangements and then I didn't get seen until a little after 4:30. For me it was just kind of an unnecessary ask and especially since I still waited until my original time. But this is super small and may not bother some. Either way I have some tasty water for my wait! The salon is always full so I wouldn't over schedule yourself with back to back appointments on the day of your visit (I often do "errand days" and have learned to account for extra time here). read more

Luis is an absolute hair ARTIST! He styled hair for me, my six bridesmaids, and my mother on our wedding day. Luis brought an assistant with him to curl hair while he styled, which moved each lady along efficiently. We never once had to rush, and actually were ahead on our getting ready schedule thanks to him which was amazing. He did an incredible job with each one of our hair, and the styles held up all night! Since our wedding day, I have already booked two appointments for him to style my hair for upcoming weddings. No one has ever made me love my hair as much as Luis has! On top of being incredibly talented, Luis is also one of the most wonderful and genuine people I have ever met. His energy made our getting ready process even more special. If you're a guy, do NOT go here. I went for highlights and a haircut and it was easily one of the most embarrassingly bad haircuts I have ever received. I asked for a fade and it turned out absolutely dreadful. I was mortified and didn't want to bring any attention to myself so I paid, ran out of the salon and immediately went to Great Clips to get it corrected. Great Clips was able to fix it (thank GOD) and even charged me only $5 because they realized what a horrible haircut I got and felt bad. The highlights I got were actually perfectly fine and I really liked them. I got them here before and it was also great experience. Everyone there is super friendly and welcoming too. First time client at refleKTion salon today. I was referred by a friend, who said lots of great things about refleKTion. Booked an appointment online, it was really easy. I like how they send you a reminder email. Arrived at my scheduled time, and was welcomed in by reception. She was so friendly, offered me a beverage and took my coat. It's the little things that I enjoy. My regular haircut place doesn't do that, let alone acknowledge your existence. I only had to wait 90 seconds before I was greeted by my stylist Ieva B, who directed me to her station. She listened to how I liked my hair, and proceeded to do a fantastic job. I might not have gone back if I didn't have a $15 coupon or didn't like the products they used. But I'm so glad I did! Maria, my stylist the second time around, was amazing. Update: The salon owner responded below to excuse their blatant attempt to keep my stylist's clients without forwarding his information. She stated they did not know who the stylist was since a lot of time had passed. This review was for my haircut in Spring 2020, quite immediately after my stylist had left. The salon was calling clients to reschedule those whose appointments were cancelled due to the pandemic lockdown and specifically said that my stylist was no longer cutting hair (not that they didn't know who he was) when I asked to rebook him. Big difference in the message and led to me booking with someone else. Original: The first hair stylist I had was excellent. When I attempted to rebook, they told me my stylist was no longer cutting hair. I booked with another senior stylist who turned out to be inexperienced with managing thick hair and gave me a badly layered haircut. Thankfully, I later found out that Reflektion salon had lied about my stylist - he had started his own salon, and I immediately booked with him to save my hair. read more

Traveled by this interesting salon serveral times in the past and finally booked an appointment for the first time 3 months ago. Probably one of the best decisions I ever made to call and make an appointment. Currently enjoying my second visit with Krystal C. (Stylist and Innovator) and I cannot say enough good things about her, the service, product, and overall experience. Cute and cozy salon with fantastic, intuitive, friendly staff. I have never felt so cared for and listened to regarding hair experience. I always have a super relaxing and social experience: Maybe in part to the free drinks and scalp massages. The hair products being green and the recycling bottle program are simply a plus to the affordable, professional service they offer. Hands down my best salon experience ever, even outside Chicago. Hands down, the best salon experience I've ever had! Krystal C is the most gifted stylist and colorist who has ever touched my hair and has a client in me for life. She is so attentive, flexible, and really listens to your concerns as it relates to your hair. I showed her two pictures of how I would like my color and combine them both into my hair, she nailed it down to the T where I have people stopping me on the streets asking to take pictures of my hair color and where I got it done! The whole refleKTion experience is wonderful. The staff are so hospitable, the ambiance is inviting, and you feel warmed and welcomed as soon as you walk in. My first time, Krystal walked me through the entire salon, giving me a tour of their different stations, what they use, and their concept as a whole. They use Euphora products (European-based), which are safe and sustainable that protects and is naturally good for your hair! Every appointment I have, I always leave with a full-size bottle of something because I just love how it makes my hair look, feel, and smell. Krystal's skill and customer service is unmatched. I cannot praise this place enough! RefleKTion was recommended to me because of their formaldehyde free keratin treatment, and it did not disappoint! Darlena took care of me and she was super friendly, knowledgable, really interested in listening to what I wanted, and made sure to answer any questions I had. My hair is curly with a LOT of frizz which makes it unpredictable and hard to manage. I was looking to loosen my curl and get rid of the frizz so that I didn't have to use so much product and heat on it. After getting the keratin treatment yesterday, I am blown away by the results. The first picture is my hair air dried with lots of product in it and the second picture is air dried with no product in it. I highly recommend having Darlena give you a keratin treatment if you want to get rid of your dry, frizzy hair. She awesome and I will definitely be coming back! read more
