I wanted a new color for New Year's. I thought about going to get a Hair color, trim and a I've been going to Reflection Dominican salon for 9-10 years now. Always a nice atmosphere.

All Dominican salons are NOT created equal... I have been here three times now because it is just about 5 minutes from me compared with the 15 minute drive to Sintia's Domincan Salon in Largo-area where I usually go. After 3 tries, however, I am NOT charmed and will happily make the drive to Sintias for my blowouts. Simply put, many stylists at Reflexion do not appear to be very skilled in the CRAFT of Dominican blowouts as the women at Sintia's and other area shops are. Evidence #1 is that they are flat-iron happy here and the stylists flatiron everyone's hair after blowing. Flat irons are NOT a part of traditional Dominican blowouts and after the blowdryer/set and blowOUT they should not have to finish your hair with a flatiron. I always get my hair set on their smallest rollers and leave with hardly any curls because they get blown out!! Shame, because the salon itself is SO cute and the people seem nice!! They should focus on hiring some new stylists practiced in the true technique.

Evelyn is the best! She's been doing my hair for over a year now and I have no complaints. My hair last three weeks and I'm natural. She also wastes no time I be in an out. I always book an appointment via her site.

I just got my hair done. I didn't have any issues. It was an assembly line...shampoo, dry, blowout. What I've learned to do is ask for: -Curly -Only blow dry the roots. -And if you get them to pin curl you, you retain more of the curls. My hair looks great. I have a relaxer, but it's been so long since I had a touchup, that only my ends are relaxed at this point. I brought my own conditioner. And I paid $35. I'll definitely try them again to see if its consistent, especially since they are like 5 minutes from my house.

    My hair is so hard

This salon has went downhill!! I have visited this salon several times over the years but yesterday's visit was by far the worst! My first problem was tools/product ... The shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling very dry. Then I happened to glance over into the stylist's work station... Oh my goodness! The combs and brushes were so dirty and filled with hair! I couldn't help but cringe from the sight of the unsanitary tools. The next problem I had was with the way my hair was styled. When I normally try Dominican salons my hair feels soft, bouncy and shiny.... Not this time. My hair was hard from spritz & it felt like no real effort was put in to styling it. The last problem I had was with pricing... It's not clear & the listed prices should just say "whatever we want to charge"!! I had short naturally curly hair & I'll make sure I'll take my curls back to another salon! I will be be go to reflexion again!

Showed up to this salon to get told $85 for a simple blow dry. Ridiculous & overpriced for a rinky dinky ass salon. Left as fast as I could.

This salon is a good salon, BUT I will warn anyone if you have natural/long hair they will charge you for every thing that they do to your hair! I asked for a wash/set and trim. However, they involuntarily gave me a deep condition although I asked them to not give me one because I just deep conditioned my hair a few days ago. When I walked in I was told I would be charged $85 total. By the time I checked out, I was charged $95. I would just warn anyone to be clear with them what you want/don't want because they do speak Spanish and I feel as though they use that to their advantage to nickel and dime customers.

Pretty salon, poorly trained stylists, burned out a chunk of my hair. If your hair is relaxed you will be fine. Not natural friendly.

She's conveniently located on Branch Avenue less than 10 minutes from the metro where I park to go into DC everyday. I made the appointment and confirmed online. I arrived on time and she offered to let me sit in the kitchen to finish the food I'd brought. She did have a head in her chair at the time, but I wasn't over surprised. It was a cold, rainy Thursday evening. She got me in quickly and shampooed and conditioned me herself to sit under the dryer (of course) and then she quickly wrapped one client before me and got me in the chair. All-in-all I was out in under 2-1/2 hours and I consider that a complete win. My hair was LAID and I absolutely loved my curls. Whitney does an excellent job with natural hair. I don't need a whole silk press because my hair, while curly, is fine (3c/4a) but she still did a good job of determining the heat setting from my iron (I always bring my own now) and was willing to use my heat protectant, which I appreciated. 10/10

Second time here…read more It's very clean, like the first time, but the service was better the first time. No one greeted me upon walking in or asked what kind of service I wanted. Last time I visited, I was told that the braider typically works on Tuesdays or by appointment only and the braider was not present. The woman that I liked styling my hair, Maria, was also not present. The woman I did get was a little rude in assuming that I was fluent in Spanish, being aggressive as she washed my hair and not putting rollers on my hair or covering my ears before drying. Both employees working spoke in a very low tone, so low that I didn't even understand what was occurring until my hair was getting a blow out when I wanted curls :/ Nonetheless, there's a special on Tuesdays for wash and sets. I'll probably continue visiting this salon when there's a special or when I'm in the area. Other times, I think I'll stick to my usual salon because this one is too far from my home for hit or miss service.

I took my soft locs out and then searched Yelp for something with good reviews that was close to me and open and came across this salon. The salon is cute, spacious and clean. Maria was working by herself today but God knew I needed my hair done so she was finishing up someone as I walked in and had me at the shampoo bowl within 10 minutes. She scratched my scalp good with the shampoo and massaged my scalp with the conditioner. Then off to her chair. This was the first time I have ever had a blow out at a Dominican salon with no pain! The pain and feeling like my hair was being burned was why I stopped getting my hair straightened. She blew me out then flat ironed it before giving me a trim and sent me on my merry way in just over an hour. To note, 3 people walked in at different points of me getting my hair done. She greeted them and let them know that there would be a wait because she was alone. They all agreed to wait and she did not rush through my hair to get to the next client. She said it was just her because no one wanted to work after the holiday so I'm hoping it's better staffed on a normal day when it will be inevitably more busy because I definitely plan on returning.

We just moved to Alexandria so we wanted to check out what this is like in case we want to come back. Our spa pass included a mimosa and access to their outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and relaxation lounges. There were also snacks and teas in the lounges. They also provide you with a locker, sandals, and a robe, and all the towels you'd ever need. The outdoor pool was fairly small but there were several places to sit outside with umbrellas so we enjoyed our time there with the view. The sauna was like the saunas in most gyms so I didn't spend much time there but I enjoyed the steam room for sure. The only reason I'm docking a star is that I don't think the spa pass was worth the $100pp it would have been normally, as the amenities were pretty standard and the women's locker room was pretty small. It def makes sense being in the MGM resort and can be great for guests but I'd rather spend my money at a standalone spa like King Spa that had more unique offerings. Still was a great day though and great to know this is right there in case we wanted to come back or try a massage etc.
