While I usually don't write reviews, I thought it might be helpful to share a recent experience especially for anyone new to Mimi's. On my last visit, I felt a bit of pressure from the owners to keep my nails polished and add color, even though I was hoping to just take a break. Mimi's husband brought up the quality of LCN, and what started as casual chat felt more like a sales pitch. My nails sometimes feel a little weak after removal, so I wanted to skip polish this time (plus, I was excited to get back to boxing!). The removal was $15 and included cutting, filing, shaping, buffing, and cuticle oil. Adding polish would've been another $15, with basic manicures starting at $15. I opted out of polish and will keep it clear at home. I know Mimi's salon has many happy customers and that the owners work hard to keep everyone happy. At the same time, it would be great if they were a bit more understanding when a regular customer wants something simple and low-key especially after being loyal for so long. Mimi did check in with me afterward, which I really appreciated. Overall, I like Mimi's and hope that next time feels a little more relaxed. This isn't your ordinary in/out nail salon where you hope they're sterilizing tools and keep a sanitary practice. Their focus is on using non toxic toiletries and the prices reflect it. First time customers (that would be me today) get 15% off. I chose a Lavender Pedicure which included the usual foot soak, nail trim and cuticle cutting in addition to callus removal, lavender lotions and soak and finally a 5 minute calf/foot massage. The woman who pampered my feet and brought them back to civilization did her work methodically and with precision. The salon was clean and spacious. Water or tea was offered upon arrival and there wasn't a heavy nail polish odor permeating the space. Some of their equipment such as the pumice pad were disposable while others had a careful run through the autoclave. It's often said " you pay for what you get" and I tend to agree. Their pedicure stations have jets which I love because I hate plain soak tubs. They line each tub for sanitary precautions so that's nice. My nail tech offered me a spa pedicure which I decided to upgrade to because it's been a long time since my last pedicure and as a new first time mom, I don't have much time to go out regularly to pamper my feet. The basic spa pedicure was 55 and an additional 20 since I was doing gel. Not too bad. The spa pedicure included a leg exfoliating scrub, 10 minute leg massage, callus removal, and some hot stones. Overall not too bad of a deal. I spent maybe 40 minutes doing the spa pedicure. The manicure stations were on a long continous bar and customers were on barstools. I really liked this style for manicure stations. There was even a long foot rest which was great for short people like myself. I'm super particular about my nails when they get filed into a shape. I'm all about symmetry and I asked for a square shape on short length nails. The filing was not even on some of my nails but its not noticeable but just something to note. Overall, I recommend this nail salon and I intend to return. My nails came out nice and its been a week later and my gel nails are still holding up well without any chips despite caring for an infant and hand washing dishes daily.

They are attentive and clean. They keep it pretty dark in there so I've noticed that the regulars would use their phone lights to check the nails and ask for changes if needed. It would appear that fancy designs are their thing but basic fills require monitoring. For me, the pedicure tool usage is something I've had to monitor especially since COVID but they've been good about getting me new tools if I am suspicious about any one thing they're using on me. However, if you decide to come here for a wax, ANY wax, ask for Cindy. She's the owners wife. If she is not there, for the love of all that is holy do not do it!!
