They've expanded and have more seating space (parties) and have "breakout rooms" with different games. One of them had Dance Dance Revolution (for 2) which was nice. Made it more private. They also now offer beer (they only used to offer cider) which is a huge plus. The service was also great. The bartenders were friendly. I'll definitely be going again. Quick Tip: download the app. They give free admission for newbies and you can play games (on the app) to get puzzle pieces for free drinks/passes.

I've been there with a group of adults and also with a group of kids, and just note that while it's totally fine (and very fun!) for kids, it's probably better for adults--there's no kid security check-in at the front, and the building is very big, with lots of games. We ordered a pizza from a touchscreen by a food window, and the pizza was actually pretty good, much better than I was expecting at an arcade. The downside was that, in the lunch rush, it took 30-40 minutes for that one pizza to come out, though you could tell they were individually making each item in the big pizza oven. If you want drinks, you separately order those at the front, near where you check in, which is a little odd to have two separate food/drink ordering spots. When we walked in, we paid for a wristband, which gave "free" access to all of the arcade games, except for the claw machines, which required you to buy an extra card.

From the laser tag (which we were far too enthusiastic in) to the more traditional arcade games like table hockey, the experience was fun and lighthearted. My favorite was the minigolf! The course was long and worthwhile, with each leg being fun and challenging, though welcoming for every level. The place was also huge with a variety of activities and a centrally located food court, which was very much appreciated after all the activity. There were employees around when we needed help, but it was a very choose your own adventure self-service vibe. A nice place to go when you're looking to do a bunch of activities in one convenient place!

Also the menus were stuck together by something sticky. We opted for the fun pass that includes 1hr bowling, unlimited laser tag, unlimited mini golf and billiards. Well a 6 yr old can't play billiards. The mini golf is unattended and kids were running crazy in there and climbing on the boat for pics. So 1 and done for us. The laser tag fills up quickly and is you okay one time that's really enough. The 2 biggest ket downs were the service and the cleanliness. The bathroom was very dirty and the soap barely came out. The floor is very sticky all over the place. The fast service place never acknowledged is standing at the counter for 10min. We went to the sit down restaurant and service was slow there. The food was just okay and the kids meal doesn't come with a drink. Also pizza comes with "fruit" it was 4 orange slices and my niece didn't even eat oranges.

There are numerous signs clearly displayed letting people know it is not in fact an arcade. Even the company's voicemail message makes it clear. Joystix Classic Games & Pinballs is actually a working showroom that opens once a month for Pac-Man Fever Night, when every game is set to free play. It's one of the most fun and unique experiences in Houston. We hosted my wife's birthday party here, and it was fantastic. Renting the space was simple, the staff was awesome, and having the 1820 Lounge next door made it the perfect setup for a group celebration. Everyone had an amazing time. I highly recommend booking the showroom for events, you will not be disappointed. The owner is Charlie, he is outstanding. He is friendly, passionate, and deeply knowledgeable about pinball and arcade history. You can tell he truly cares about preserving the hobby and sharing it with others. He takes care of his customers and is very courteous to those who are considering a purchase. If you love pinball, classic arcades, or just want to do something different, Joystix is a must-visit Houston gem.

They do have a pretty wide selection of snacks and drinks, including healthy and dairy-free options like trail mix, jerky, Chex mix, etc. My one issue is that they are not consistent about their hours. Posted hours state that they open at 6am daily, however today they did not open until 6:25am. Other times that I have visited, the store has been open but there was a note on the counter "be back in 5 minutes." Twenty minutes later, the store was still empty. Overall, I encourage Priority Pass members to utilize the perk, however be prepared to walk away empty-handed if you're in a time crunch.

I had paid for admission and was standing on the green divider in the kids' area--something the posted rules explicitly allow. Despite that, she repeatedly insisted I was breaking the rules and refused to listen when I pointed to the official sign. My son isn't even 2 years old, and I was simply trying to stay close enough to keep him safe if he fell. Instead of showing any understanding or basic courtesy, she was rude, argumentative, and actually told me I could leave. So my choices were either stay close to protect my toddler or leave the facility. It's unacceptable to treat paying customers this way, especially parents trying to watch over young children. If your own posted rules don't matter to your staff and safety concerns are met with hostility, then you have a serious management problem. We won't be coming back, and I certainly won't recommend this place to anyone.
