I visited this Mexican restaurant while working in the area with my colleague one weekday. It's not quite a taqueria, and not quite an americanized tex-mex restaurant, instead it's just one of those type places that's a spot to have on your regular rotation. They do not appear to have a lunch menu, so don't go expecting $5.99 taco plates or anything. We were greeted by a manager and given a complimentary queso with ground beef a few minutes later which was delicious and a nice gesture. The salsa is pretty good here as are the thick corn tortilla chips. You will be given both a red and a green salsa. I ended up eating mostly red. I ordered one of the most expensive menu items, which is not always the best idea at places like this, but after walking in and smelling the aroma in the dining room of sizzling meats and grilled onions, I was just tempted. My fajitas for 1 was $15 and there was enough meat to take left overs. This comes with only 2 homemade flour tortillas, rice beans (they seemed to be white beans), pico and guacamole. The tortillas get hard quickly but hold up well, so you need to eat fast here. The beef skirt steak is thin and cooked to a well done, but it does have good flavor. My colleague ordered 2 carne asada tacos with corn and found the corn to be very fragile and almost impossible to eat without the tortillas falling apart completely. She had to turn her plate into taco salad basically. Overall though, the customer service was really prompt and friendly and the food really just hit the spot. It's nice to have yet another spot along Center Street to add to my rotation whenever I'm in the area. read more

The service is good, our server was friendly. The place was clean. The tea is good. They bring green salsa and a red salsa. The green is bit more mild but they are both good. We ordered the chicken fajitas and 2 al pastor tacos. The fajitas do not come out on a skillet, the chicken is just chopped up with some onions, it was hot, it was ok. The Al pastor tacos were not great. The meat was kinda soggy and almost ground up. The rice was a wet rice with a different flavor than most I have ever had. Didn't care for it at all and I generally love Mexican rice. An acquaintance recommended this place and they love it, especially the breakfast. So I would say maybe try their breakfast or perhaps having previously lived on the Mexican border and eating there often I'm too picky. Overall I wouldn't rate it terrible but definitely not the best I've ever had. read more

I loved the chips cheese, salsa, and taco meat dips! We had the most excellent customer services by the server. The manager was outstanding by checking on our experience. I had the Don Roberto meal for my birthday; it was a most delicious meal. It has a pleasant dining atmosphere. My wife tried out the Blue Hawaiian drink, and I got a sip very nice choice. First time trying this one. First, it's a pleasant low key atmosphere. We were greeted at the door with a smile and seated right away. Chips and salsa as usual. The chips are made in house and are substantial. Salsa are nice. Green is not the usual mild fare, it has a nice spice that reads more creamy tomatilla than guacamole. The red is very nice with a good amount of spice. We ordered the chicken flautas and the fajita combo (chicken, beef and shrimp) with corn tortillas (house made). The flautas were hot and fresh, nicely puffy and crisp. The chicken is flavorful. Fajitas are nicely cut, grilled to perfection and the amount is more than enough for the three tortillas which are served soft and warm in the standard warmer. I ordered the queso flameado and it was disgusting. The chorizo was burned and the cheese was so hard it was like a big hard glob that you couldn't dip anything in. I tried to heat it to see if that would help but it didn't. But even if it did nobody wants to eat burned chorizo. The chips were stale. My enchiladas were edible no had no flavor. read more

We stayed a weekend after visiting the Zoo. We came in this morning for a quick breakfast before we hit the road back home. We stopped and we had a GREAT experience. Delicious food and reasonably priced. The service was fast and very friendly. The restaurant itself self was clean and welcoming. The staff treated us like we were locals. There was a gentleman wearing a pink shirt, he was either the manger or the owner who check in on us and ask if we needed anything each time. He talked to our 3 year old son and gave him a Duvalin after he ate his breakfast. We sang Happy Birthday to someone but everyone participated in the singing. We all went to the restroom before heading out and my son left his plush snake at the table and one of the servers was waiting with his snake at the door jokingly asking him if he liked her snake. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the Deer Park, Pasadena, Laporte, and Baytown area. The service is amazing. Very quick and friendly service. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The manager, Antonio, visited the table multiple times to check on us and was very helpful. He was kind and told us about the history of his family with 3 different restaurants, with one of them being in business for 25 years. You can not be a good restaurant and have that kind of longevity. The restaurant is very accommodating and clean. They have a television and music playing but not too loud. The food was very reasonably priced, and the portions were huge. The tacos were full of quality meat, and the tortillas were big and of very well made. I would suggest the al pastor tacos to anyone. They were some of the best al pastor I have ever had. The queso was amazing and the best in the area. My wife enjoyed the beef taco and the chicken tostada. They have an extensive menu with both Tex-Mex and Mexican dishes. They also have breakfast served till 11 am. We will be coming back Saturday morning for breakfast. This will be a frequent spot for us. 5 out of 5 stars. I would highly recommend it! read more

The burger tasted as if the meat was expired. I let the server know and she still charged me full price for a burger I took one bit out of. Any other place would've offered a new plate but not them. Staff is friendly service is great but food is not that great first they don't serve breakfast all day most real Mexican restaurants serve breakfast all day just for a few dollars more after breakfast time. Their beans are over cooked and flavorless, A can if HEB boracho beans taste 10 times better. Their flour Tortillas are not homemade they taste store bought. Their enchiladas are ok not the greatest.
