Queso and what looks like small sopapillas and menú

I have been here a couple of times. I try to eat local. The food is good, but portions usually run small compared to other local eateries. Service is good and welcoming. The restaurant is well kept and the decor is nice. On this visit, I tried something different: caldo de pollo. It lacked vegetables and as you can see in the pic it was more broth than veggies. A positive is the chicken was chicken breast and no drumsticks as it is served in other places. If the caldo had more veggies(cabbage, potatoes and corn) I think it would be great! Looking forward to another visit and trying something else off the menu. I recommend this place. Their fajitas are a good quality.

Don Pepe's was a pretty solid option. Inside was spacious! The service was great. We got seated right away and it didn't take long to get our order in. The food seemed to be out pretty quick. I got the chile rellenos, they were pretty good. The breading was good, and the flavors were all tasty. I think it would be fun to bring a group here. Great service, good food!

So this is mostly a to-go review. I'm really, really happy we found this little gem! We called about 45 minutes before they closed to order the street tacos & birria tacos because the pupusa place up the road was already about to close. We were worried about how long it would take since it was within last hour of closing.(We've had poor experiences even for "quick" to-go orders like that.) The gentleman who answered the phone & took our order was said "it would take about 5-10 minutes, was that okay? Or would we need more time?" We were slightly in shock, at the speed & asked is 15 minutes okay? He said yes, got our name, that was it. We needed to pick up my kids curbside food from up the street at Chick-fil-A by a certain time. When we went in to get the food it was pretty empty besides a couple of guys watching the game, which explained the 5-10 min quote. (On a Thursday night. I know it be jumping during fridays/weekends from always driving by.) They really were speedy with our order!! And it didn't harm the food flavor. I love, love, love my birria tacos. Idk if the beans had pork in it but they sure smelt good. My husband tore those & his fajita street tacos up. I tasted a small piece of his, no complaints either. It may may sound weird but I really, really liked there pickled onions. Their chips & salsa are good, too. I didn't go to bathroom, so idk about that area. But from the overall cleanliness that I did see. Their side of parking lot was spotless. I was pretty pleased with the overall vibe.

I loved my meal at Don Pepe's. Great friendly service. Very good Tex-Mex. One thing I really liked about their tortilla is that it was so fresh and they char it a little (all Mexican restaurants I've been to give soft flour tortillas, not textured like this). My El Pepito came with steak, chicken, and shrimp. I can tell they cook with love and care because each meat came out perfect, not overcooked at all. My happy hour margarita was such a great deal. I regretted not getting the 20 oz size instead... but it's not fun drinking margarita alone so maybe next time I'll have the larger size when I go back with friends. Restaurant was clean. Not too crowded on a Thursday night. Cute decor. I like that there's music playing but the noise level is not too loud so you can still have conversations.

Don Pepe's Mexican Bar & Grill has wonderful decor that makes you feel like you're in Mexico. The staff are friendly and always refill your glasses without having to ask. Yes, for those that drink (not me), there's plenty of booze. Don Pepe has an area in the back for private parties. I heard Don Pepe's offers catering? However, that's ALL that is positive about Don Pepe's Mexican Bar & Grill. Our food was awful. Their dips are disgusting. The "green sauce" has no flavor, YUCK. The salsa was more like sauteed and mashed tomatoes, YUCK. Their "queso" wasn't queso. It reminded us more of melted Velveeta, no spice whatsoever and it was very thick, YUCK. The tortillas for our flautas and enchiladas were thin. The refried beans were gross. The chicken in our dishes were dry, gritty and very tough to cut with a knife. We were a party of four adults and two little kids, yet our entire meal costed $95! Unacceptable!! Outrageous!!! We've all decided we're NEVER dining here again.

Food was okay, chicken was just a little dry. The sauce helped it out a lot. Beans and rice were on point!!!! Flavor was there. Chips and salsa were average. Atmosphere was great for family. Service was great!!! Very attentive!!!

First time coming here and it was already a 10/10. Service is quick, food is delicious and place is kept clean. Love how the place is set up, they do have a bar area. Family friendly!

Don Pepe's is SO good. My family loves to critique food, and we easily all rated everything we got an almost 5/5. The waiter was so sweet! You definitely have to try it out! 100% recommend and I usually don't leave many reviews.

The male host that seated us, didnt say hello welcome or anything, he actually picked up the menus and started walking, we followed assuming he was seating us.. since we were the only ones next. He lead us to an area to the left straight back behind the hostess area. He didnt speak and just put our menus down on a table and kept walking to further back into that area.. My daughter says is this our table? and he just glanced and nodded... what was that? We sat there for a while.. feeling so strange. This has never happened before. Usually the female hostess greets us we get seated and we are handed our venues after we are seated and we are told your server will be right with you. Needless to say we left. We did not feel like eating there anymore. You all may not worry about our little $50 Lunch.. ( thats how much we usually spend if not more)but if any other customers feel the same way after encountering that male host.. you will be seeing more customers walking out.

It's a small place, so it's not ideal for large gatherings and they're easy to miss. El Tostaco Regio does not serve typical Mexican cuisine. Their food is what you would find served on the streets of Mexico. So there's no refried beans, rice or a queso plate here. Most of their dishes comes with beans and a cup of broth. Their food is served fresh, but messy. Everything they make is packed with flavor, but not overpowered by spices. The tables have three complimentary sauces you can try with your dishes. If your other party is not in the mood for Mexican, El Tostaco Regio also have burgers and baked potatoes. Their menu is bilingual, thankfully. The staff are patient and kind. Prices are affordable. I will say that their AC system could've been better, considering we're in Summer now. They only have only bathroom. Aside from a TV playing Latino music, there's no decor inside at all. My major issue is that El Tostaco Regio is NOT wheelchair accessible. That's completely unacceptable!
