We went on a Monday at 3:30. Theatre didn't have many people in it. It cost $59 with taxes and fees for two movie tickets. Concessions (regular nachos, large root beer, large popcorn with seasoning) cost another $40+. Definitely pricy! However, the employees were attentive, efficient and friendly. It was clean everywhere. Bathrooms spotless. We drove up from Camano Island because we have had the same experience before here and the Stanwood theater is disgusting. Will likely be back again even though it is expensive. read more

It's been a while since I last visited Regal Barkley Village. They made some changes. The two biggest changes are a new line for the refreshments. It winds through candies on both sides with canned drinks at the end just before you get to the concession counter to order fountain drinks, popcorn, and other items. The other change is that they have added some massage chairs! Interesting. I've never seen massage chairs at a theater before. The screening rooms were well cleaned (except that I noticed a puddle of gooey stickiness under my seat when my wife dropped her phone under the seat). The sounds and picture was very good, as expected from an IMAX presentation. The staff were nice and helpful. read more

Had to come on here to say how fantastic Jazz was when my wife and I came in! We're both a little clueless when it comes to movies, but we strolled in there one afternoon for a date and happened to ask her what was good. After an absolutely delightful conversation, she ended up recommending us Project Hail Mary, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The Regal in Barkley Village is strangely Bellingham's only actual movie theatre. Even so they do not disappoint. The theatre is always clean and inviting, they offer a excellent selection of snacks, a few games to play while you wait for your movie, and they even have an IMAX option. I went to a movie there, again, a couple of nights ago. The movie was OK, the experience sucked for a couple of reasons. First, I looked at the schedule online to decide what to see, and the ticket prices. I'm a "senior", and the price quoted for the matinee show was reasonable. I attempted to purchase the tickets online, but was then hit with a "booking fee" of $4, which then made the tickets less reasonable. So, I planned to pay cash when we got to the theater. When we got to the theater, the box office was closed and there was a sign saying to purchase the tickets at the concession. After waiting behind a few popcorn purchasers we got to the counter and were then informed that to get the price advertised on line, with no disclaimers that I saw, the tickets had to be purchased through an app, and that the ticket price for in person, cash purchase would now about double what they had been stated on line. Boo! I would have walked, but my SO wanted to go to the movies, so we went... Second issue was the sound system and the adjustments of same. Let me state that I wear hearing aids to hear conversation clearly. The sound level in the theater was SO LOUD, that even with my hearing aids turned all the way down, the volume was SO LOUD that I had to cover my ears with my hands in self defense. A friend who went to another showing on a different day had the same issue. The volume problem is particularly tied to the gratuitous bass the theater seems to want to use to emphasize dramatic moments or sales points in the previews. If you have ever been assaulted by the bass being played on the sound system of another car in traffic, this is WAY WORSE. Deafening one might say. I have complained to the management about this in the past, with no resolution. So, if you are thinking of going to the movies, bring earplugs AND earmuffs. if you want to minimize the risk of hearing loss. I need to get a sound meter soIf I can perhaps initiate a class action thing. My ears are still ringing. read more

Don't forget your ID!!!!! They will turn you away if you don't provide a real ID (not just a photo). Are you kidding I'm 21 and have been to bars that allow me to just show a photo of my id. I went with a group of friends and couldn't see the new horror movie "weapons" because of this policy. The manager was very professional and handled it very well, even refunding our food purchase. But I still left very disappointed they weren't able to make an exception even for a picture of my id being the fact I can legally buy alcohol at this point. read more

Came specifically to Barkley Village to see Top Gun in IMAX audio/video did not disappoint. Was crowded but the assigned seats made it nice for grouping a party of six on opening weekend without waiting in line. Wish the arcade was a bit bigger and better maintained. Two issues, both minor, both annoying. I stared at the menu screens for several minutes trying to find the prices. Specifically I was looking for the price of the frozen lemonade thing. Finally I was told the "5.6" in teeny light gray lettering was the price. 5 point six pennies? Nope, it meant $5.60. Apparently if you those extra two character on the screen it would be too taxing for the LED screen. Second, after getting said frozen lemonade I grabbed my spoon. Which apparently is made from wet spaghetti because it's the flimsiest possible "utensil" I've ever used. It simply did not work at all. And the concessional has no other options. Thanks. Had to throw out the lemonade after several failed attempts at eating it. The theater is nice, the staff is nice, the sound and projection is great. I ate all of my $17 popcorn watching annoying and repetitive commericals. This is one of the biggest theaters in the Bellingham area, so it can get pretty busy on the weekends. This Regal theater also seems to get a decent amount of indie and older movies that cycle through (for example, this year, they are running all of the Studio Ghibli films). Probably the best thing about this theater is their $21.99 unlimited movies deal (for 2D films) if you go twice a month, it's worth it and you do get discounts on concessions. The service at the concession stand can be unbelievably slow, so if you're in a rush, it's worth it to order food ahead of time on the Regal smartphone app. And I'll be honest, the seats in their "RPX" (think Dolby Digital theaters) are some of the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. Apart from the crummy chairs in the RPX theater and occasional slow service, this theater is pretty decent and is a nice addition to the Barkley Village area. read more

Two senior ladies buy tickets on line for the $5.95 Tuesday movie. We arrive and stand in line for the lady to scan our barcode. She tells us we have to go to the concession stand to get our tickets. We stand in line at the concession stand and request our tickets. He informs us that the lady we just saw previously was supposed to scan our bar code. We told him she told us to come to the concession stand. Rather than go back in the "enter the theater line" we ask him for printed tickets to give to the lady that doesn't know to scan our barcode. We give her our printed tickets and "wha la" we're in. On the way out after the show, my friend looks at her receipt and sees a $3.50 convenience fee for purchasing on line (I guess she didn't read the fine print when purchasing the tickets). So, two tickets that should have cost us $11.90 actually cost us $15.40. And that's the story of two seniors on a fixed income trying to save some money. But my motto is "live and learn" and pray for patience when you are shuttled from one line to another. Why be upset over something you can't change. What good does it do? I value my "peace of mind". I've gone to the Barkley Cinemas for years and will continue to go. And look at all I've learned through this experience. read more

It's a new clean facility, probably disproportionately large for Bellingham. Large "standard" theaters with large screens. No theater with reclining seats. Everything sold at the concession stand is outrageously expensive as we are all aware of (just like any other theater). What annoys me is that they ask you for donation multiple times and they never tell you the cause. They ask you for $1 when you buy tickets. They ask you again the the concession stand if you'd like to round up the total and donate it! For the record, I did donate. However, I have to say it was pretty high on the "annoyance scale" with the grossly overpriced concessions. I went to the Regal Cinemas webpage but could not find any information as to what happens to the money their guests have donated. Very large parking lot. They have kiosks Inside for ticket purchases. No reserved seating here. I like the seats. They are comfy and plushy fabric that rock. Not a full recline but u can lean back. This theater in Bellingham, Washington is the cleanest and newest movie theater that I have ever been in. Even the men's restroom was spotless. Maybe that is why the prices are so high. I expected prices to be lower than my hometown in California, but they were not. Costed us $9.50 each for a Matinee ticket for a regular movie. They also offer RPX and IMAX theaters at higher prices. Did not get anything at their concession stand. Plenty of food options though at standard theater prices. Very comfy chairs that rock, and the sound system was terrific! Service was friendly. I don't go to a lot of movies, but when I do I'm so thankful that Regal invested in putting this swank new theater right here in Bellingham. The screens are big, the sound is amazing, and the seats are comfortable. The staff is also very friendly. I do have to complain about the prices, though. Seriously, SERIOUSLY, if you add in the $5 RPX upgrade, the $9 buckets of popcorn, and the $7 large sodas you are going to lay out some SERIOUS cash if you take your kids here for a movie. Just be sure to plan accordingly if budget is an issue - pick a movie on one of their "regular" screens (no RPX, no IMAX), and eat before you go. The parking lot's also a great example of poor planning - bring your hiking boots. Still, nice to have a good movie venue in our fair city. read more

Been enjoying this Cinema since it opened about 6 years ago. It's a huge improvement over the previous Cinemas that were at the mall and sunset Square. The stadium seating and big screens and amazing sound systems are all incredible. My only complaint is most action films are way too loud and need to bring ear plugs. My 18 year old daughter at the time even complained so don't say if it's too loud you're too old. We had to leave that time as didn't have ear plugs with us and got a refund. The self purchase kiosks are nice feature but they don't let you redeem any points rewards, that has to be done at the service desk or just use the box office purchase for that. The concession food and drinks are way overpriced and mostly very unhealthy choices so I always avoid that and eat beforehand or after the show. Most recently saw the films Alita battle angel, the green book and Bumblebee they're all very good films and I'd highly recommend each especially the green book. read more

New releases, special events, and anniversary films show here. I enjoy attending the anniversary movies. The most recent being Labyrinth with David Bowie. It's a big theater featuring multiple screens (standard, IMAX, 3D, IMAX3D), comfortable seating, clean bathrooms, and concession stands. Tickets are quite expensive. ~$13 standard with $2 off standard matinee. Be sure to join Regal Crown Club. It takes a while to accrue points worth using but you've really got nothing to loose. Special promotion offers come through the Crown Club. This is in a nice location. Immediately beside the theater are a restaurant/bar, Subway, Woods Coffee, and another food establishment. There are also other food/bar establishments and Haggans also conveniently located. read more

Certainly the best movie theater in Bellingham. A significant improvement over the previous Bellingham now defunct theaters (Seahome, Sunset, and the mall). As far as the prices... thats just what it costs to see a movie in the theater these days. For three of us to attend, plus popcorn plus drinks, the total was about $90. Even if that sounds steep it was worth it. The seats were incredibly comfortable. There was an unobstructed view of the screen due to the steepness of the seating arrangement, which made for an awesome viewing experience. If you hear IMAX and expect something like the IMAX theater at the Seattle Center, that is not the case. Still a good experience, but the IMAX is not that overhead full projection type IMAX. I will certainly return to the Regal Cinemas at Barkley Village. read more

I'm 56 years old and I've been going to the show for my entire life . After spending 60 plus on two tickets and tasteless popcorn/ candy /pop , my husband and I sat through an entire movie with two teen girls beside us texting / FaceTiming and full blown conversations with each other ( literally turned leg to leg like sitting on a couch ). Funny part is that there was a grand total of 7 people in the theatre all sitting in the same row. After multiple attempts of trying to get the girls to shut up I finally thought that it ! NOT once did anyone pop in to check as they are supposed to do or they would have seen these children FaceTiming with their boyfriends. News flash , I can stream pretty much anything nowadays but thinking a date night would be fun is now done . Look ! I'm not a prude but this has to become the responsibility to some point of the establishment to control the problems without the high paying customers needing to attempt to find a worker , miss the movie and feel anger from having zero control over someone's children who sneak off to talk their boyfriends. We have come here on several occasions, and I'm consistently underwhelmed by theater-going experience - even if the facility is relatively new. A huge complaint of mine is the recently implemented seat selection that essentially forces you to choose seats in the theater at the time of purchase. In a nutshell, the diagram one sees on the computer (or Regal kiosk) does NOT align with the actual seat you thought you had once you arrive in the theater. As a result, during our most recent visit we were stuck sitting three rows from the screen even though we arrived 30 minutes early for the film! I contacted the theater the next day to discuss this problem, and management was very dismissive of my concern - even though my visit set me back over $50. This isn't the only IT issue that directly impacts customers. It is almost impossible for customers to figure out the in-lobby purchase kiosks, especially in terms of using the Regal club. In fact, the employees will readily admit that the information appearing on the screen (ie, the software presentation) does not match with the outdated kiosks (the hardware). Thus, customers aren't able to get their points added to their Regal cards. Furthermore, the theater suffers from climate control (the theaters get way too hot during a well-attended screening); and the theaters are not cleaned properly between movies. This theater is in dire need of a visit from Regal corporate headquarters. read more

There used to be several movie theaters to chose from in Bellingham, but now this is the go-to place to see any recently released movie (the Pickford is also an option but much smaller and does not play all released movies). It has an ample lobby in which you can buy your tickets inside or outside to help avoid lines, and the facility is very clean including the restrooms. The restrooms are large so there is almost never a wait for the ladies room. This is a relatively new theater and it shows in the seating- even in the regular theaters (as opposed to some of their upscale options like IMAX) the seats have leather headrests and lean back. The theaters are two tiered which makes for a lot of good seating. I've always found the employees to be kind and helpful. The location is great. Near the theater is a coffee shop and resturant, as in you can get to them from the parking lot that the theater shares with these places. There is also a sushi place, a subway and a frozen yogurt place set into the theater building with access only from the outside of the building. All the variety makes it easy to catch a movie and then a snack or coffee with a friend without needing to go elsewhere. I know they offer a birthday party "package" for kids and I've heard from friends with kids that these parties are enjoyable and worth the money spent. The theater is SPENDY, which most theaters are now, but a matinee is almost $12!! They offer a small discount for military and students. The food and beverages are completely overpriced- better to just skip it. Also the parking lot is really strangely arranged and a lot of parking is far from the actual venue- not a problem unless you have kids in tow, have a disability, have a hard time walking, it's pouring down rain or iced over, etc...they should have planned the parking lot better... read more

Wish I knew his name but he is the friendliest and nicest person and funny too. The theater is always super clean. I would have given 5 stars but I came from a bigger city then Bellingham and we had several theaters and this is the only one in the whole county besides the 2 little tiny ones. And also all the regals where I use to live had discount days that I would always go to because $12 for a movie is expensive. I wish they had discount days up here. More people could afford to go to the movies that way. So if you guys add discount days I will give you five stars. Other then that its a really great theater. read more

I'm annoyed at the design, it's large and spacious inside but frankly the colors and branding on the outside are an eyesore to the Barkley Village look. Where's the brick? Where's the clean lines? Most of all where was whatever neighborhood association that regulates this kind of thing around there? In the same strip mall are other businesses confirmed to the classic look... Then boom! A huge corporate building with primary colors? After not being home for awhile it was a bit shocking. The theater itself is spacious with great sound, loads of different items at the snack bar and an easy scanner for pre-purchased tickets. stadium seating, awesome 3-D, and everything you could want on the inside. Finally! (is what I suspect many, many movie fans in Whatcom County are thinking to themselves) This theatre is a welcome addition to Bellingham, we have been limping along with 2 pathetic 6-plexes since the late 80s. Theatre seating? Mmm, no. Surround sound? If you mean from the adjoining theaters? Then yes. Reclining seats? Only if they are really broken. Plenty of leg room? If you're 5'4". These theaters are great, modern, comfortable, and there are plenty of them!! 16 theaters in all and a couple of those are for 3D and IMAX which I am pretty unlikely to choose or enjoy. But I am glad we have the option! I've seen quite a few movies here and have enjoyed NEARLY all of them. Unfortunately I showed up late to see Lincoln and ended of in the front row. I can't really recommend sitting in the front row...or the second or the third. I prefer to sit higher in these theaters, and luckily those seats are usually not hard to find! Tips: - Use the Regal Cinemas app if you can. Movie times and periodic deals can be had here. - "Like" Regal Cinemas on Facebook and click on "Weekly Coupon" to get a good deal (I've had $3 off popcorn twice). [These deals are delivered by SMS.] - Use the Kiosks (just inside the North doors, directly behind the box office) to skip the lines for the box office. read more

A serious upgrade for mainstream cinema in Bellingham. IMAX, Premium Sound, Leather Seat RPX options and your easy, basic seats. Experiencing all of the options available, the RPX seats are DEFINITELY an upgrade and much more comfortable on the back and knees. They often have the best show times and earlier showings available too. I still find it nearly impossible to pay $22+ for a MOVIE I could own in a few months for the same price. My subtraction of star revolves around the skyrocket prices of everything from tickets to concessions. Blah!!! Not health nut friendly like other theaters in Bellingham, and the food lines can be long, due to only a couple employees/stations open at once. Also, bring a coat- both due to the outdoor ticket line AND the sometimes chilly rooms. read more

I'm a little sad that this is the only movie theatre showing the big movies in town anymore. It's incredibly awkward to park here unless you park out in the boonies. Half the time, the staff is not paying any attention to you unless GOD FORBID you accidentally try to bring in a coffee, which I may or may not have done. They got really strict recently on outside food and drink and get super angry when you try. Unfortunately, this is the only game in town if you want to see new movies. And they know t. I come here a lot with my boyfriend and we love it...I did have one issue getting a refund when I couldn't make a showtime when he got sick suddenly once...it took a while to get my money back and I had to message them 3 times but they did come through eventually...the app is nice to have and I use the rewards...it didn't work fully when I first downloaded it but I emailed customer service for the app and a few days later they got it working. read more
