This is my favorite movie theater!! Half of the theaters have been remodeled and have big comfy seats. The seats rock and you can lift the armrests on both sides if nobody is next to you!! Like sitting on a couch!! Ask when you get your ticket if you're in a new one with those seats because it makes a huge difference. Great staff and clean theaters. read more

My 4-star review is only based on the "matinee" experience here. I have never been here in the evening... I volunteered to drive a friend to-and-from a day surgery, so I found myself with about 5 hours to kill away from my home base in St. Pete. I decided to see a 12:00pm matinee here. (Deadpool - So much silly fun!) This theater was clean, comfortable, and quiet! It was totally devoid of the usual rude cell phone jerks and disruptive sort that usually ruin most any theater experience for me. So, if you hope to enjoy a movie in PEACE, please consider coming here for a daytime/matinee showing! read more

Regal Cinemas or "Hollywood 18" as it is known in these parts is a nice theater, albeit an old theater. It had a facelift several years ago and it looks positively lovely now compared to how it looked when I first went there back in 1996. It is a lot more spacious and modern looking now. Very bright, very clean and doesn't have that old movie theater "stink" to it any more. What I do like is over the summer, they have the little kids special, where you can go see some relatively outdated cartoon type movies on the cheap with your little ones. What I don't like about it is that it starts at 10 am. Really? Do people actually get up that early during the week while on summer break? The theater recently reduced its prices to stay competitive with the dollar theater across the street. So now, instead of $14 a ticket, you will only pay $10 for a full price regular admission ticket. They do have student rates, senior rates and military rates which is a nice thing if you fit into any of those categories. They also have hearing assist devices for those who are hard of hearing and you can also request closed captions be added to certain movies. Most of the time, they are accommodating except in cases of new releases or special events. What I don't like? Their modern menu over the concession area. It scrolls...and WAY too quickly. You have to wait for it to run through at least twice before you can actually read all the combos. The prices, as always, are movie theater ridiculous, not really different than any other theaters. For a party of two, two tickets, a large popcorn and two large drinks...figure on spending $50 for the night. They do occasionally run specials on candy or drinks. You have to know which nights to be there. Most of the staff is pretty friendly. The seats in most of the theaters in the LONG hallway have been replaced and are actually large and comfy now compared to how narrow and hard they used to be. The theaters are generally very clean and rarely do you get that "stick to the floor" feeling that you do in a lot of the other local theaters. The bathrooms are usually clean as well, paper well stocked in all the stalls and the garbage is not overflowing. The only thing I strongly recommend is if you are a grown up that doesn't want to interact too much with the kiddies? STAY AWAY from this theater on Friday nights. It is SWARMING with the little buggers whose parents utilize this place as a makeshift babysitter. They dump them off for a 7 pm movie and pick them up again around midnight. They are usually loitering all over the place. And, seeing a movie with these little savages is an exercise in futility. They text each other from row to row, call out to each other, race up and down the aisles jumping from seat to seat to see their friends and have no concept of the fact that there ARE actually people in there who choose to see the movie. Saturdays are somewhat calmer, but there are still remnants of the little maniacs scattered about here and there. We prefer to hit this theater on Sunday nights when it is very quiet and mostly adults at the movies. There is a lot of parking all around the building. Movies on the weekends run late, usually last showing at 11 pm and during the week, last showing around 9 pm. We do prefer to go to the AMC theaters down in Oldsmar usually, but when we are looking to catch a quick movie at the last minute, the Hollywood 18 generally fits the playbill. read more

I was very excited to finally venture out and see Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows part 2 with my two kids. We specifically chose to go to the first showing hoping to not have a crowded theater. Just as we hoped, the parking lot was not crowded. The ticket prices were just ok since it was a matinee. There were no lines inside for concessions which was great! What I really found interesting was that if you had a smart phone with Facebook on it, you could "like" yahoo movies and they would give you a code for a free popcorn. What beats that? We found our way to the theater to find our seats. There was only one other couple there so it was easy to pick our seats. I left my kids there to go buy concessions. I might have purchased more than planned because I had way more stuff than hands. One of the employees was nice enough to walk me back to our theater to open all of the doors for me. The theater is pretty old and the seats are small. Fortunately the floors were not sticky and it smelled pretty good for an old theater. I do believe we will chose this theater again given the chance. read more

Student discount days are Monday through Thursday! This theater has a large open lobby with gaming off to the side. If you want some concessions (popcorn and a drink) I would recommended getting a number one combo, it will save you a few bucks! Large drink is $6, large popcorn is $8. I spent 12 and change for the combo! Every penny counts! I wasn't impressed with the theater however.. Opening weekend and I'm seeing Star Wars, the theater had maybe 50 seats.. Split right down the middle so don't expect to sit in the middle of the screen. The chairs do lean back though, I thought that was very cool! Definitely no AMC but not a bad theater at all! Sometimes it's the little things...but a theater that has coke products should certainly ranks up there. But since, I gave up soda for lent, I have to rate this place on its merits. The Hollywood 18 is tucked back off of 19, with plenty of parking.the ticket booth is outside the lobby, which unfortunately leaves you open to the elements and people that want to smoke all the way up to the last minute going inside. The lobby itself is laid out nicely. A large concession stand helps keep the lines short. Did I mention they have Coke products? Nothing special on the menu at this location. Inside, you will find several quaint little theaters...if you go for a popular movie, get there early to avoid the close seats. The screen and sound was great....but nothing other cinemas don't have. I would have to call this place average. read more

Pretty average. Those are the best words I can think of to describe the place. Maybe it's because I've been going there since it opened, or maybe it's because the whole place has that average feel, but.. I've been to theaters that are older that felt more above average than the Hollywood 18 does. If you're going to go out and see a movie in the Port Richey/Hudson area, this is pretty much your only choice, unless you want to risk the musty dollar theater. I'd go into why that place should make you leery, but that's for another review. At any rate, as people have said, this place has plenty of parking. I haven't seen the actual parking lot full even on the busiest nights. Pretty sure it's not possible. Best of all, most people park near the entrance or close to it, and have to usually walk a couple minutes to get to the front door. Forget that noise, park near the exit and walk for ten seconds to get to the front door. The actual lobby itself is spacious, but unless it's a Marvel movie midnight showing, you won't find it with more than a constant ten or twenty people, unless you go at a bad time. The arcade games they have there are par for the course, but don't waste money on the Terminator game. The guns have desynched, likely from constant abuse from children, so aiming is impossible. Another thing I've noticed is that people have mentioned the menu board scrolling too fast with food advertisements. This is 100% true, something I figure they'll fix some day. Also, yeah, this place suffers from movie food overpricing. I mean, I understand that you've got to pay the bills, but they need to take the Steam model of selling things: you'll make up and profit over what you lost lowering your costs by obtaining more sales. The 'Regal Crown Club' or whatever is great. If you're going to go there often, as I tend to do in the summer when there's a load of good movies worth seeing, the 'rewards' are certainly better than nothing. I've gotten free tickets, food and drinks from it. If you go there often and decline it, stop declining it and apply for one. You won't regret it. You might as well get back something free for the money you spend there, right? Anyway, they have indeed changed the seats in some of their more well-traveled theaters. This is a great change, 'cause the old seats are crappy, but honestly, this place is overdue for another overhaul. Their last one was a nice start, but there's definitely more that needs to be changed. Not sure what, but then again, I'm no architect or movie theater connoisseur. So, again I stress, this place is average. There are better theaters but if you're in the area, this is the best theater to go to. read more

There prices for tickets are outrageous better to go between 12 and 2pm so u can get a ticket around 8$ there food is horrible and over priced not to mention unhealthy and taste like crap and will make u break out because they cover popcorn in just oil I rarely go to this theater because of it . read more

I trekked out to this theater as part of a birthday adventure. Do I normally drive over 30 miles one-way to see a movie? No. But I had a free movie on my birthday at Regal and this was the only Regal playing the film I wanted to see. Good thing I don't mind driving. Maybe Port Richey has some baffling city planning but I expected to find this movie theater attached to a mall or in an area with restaurants and shops and...it's just sort of by itself about 2 minutes from a residential area. I kept checking my directions as I thought I must be lost. Once I found it I had no problem redeeming my coupon and getting my ticket. I stopped to ponder getting some popcorn and had a bit of a shock. The menu boards are all digital now and alternate between actually showing the options and huge adverts for Coke and such. The scroll rate was dizzying and the menu was displaying for the third or fourth time before I managed to read everything. Not that there was a ton to read. Thanks, Regal for the very pretty pictures of your various combo options - with no prices. At least there wasn't a line since I asked about the price of a soda and a popcorn combo and quickly decided I didn't feel like giving them $12 for that. I was seeing an indy sort of film so I was in a small theater right inside the theater area. I got there right as previews were starting so I never saw the theater in the light but it seemed clean and comfortable. Nice crowd in the middle of the day and for that movie - mostly older couples - and it was an overall good experience. read more
