I stayed 2 nights at the Regal Inn over the weekend while doing the Frank Llyod Wright Plus tour. The Regal Inn is not much to look at from the outside, an L shaped 2 level motor lodge with a small check in office up front with a second set of rooms accessible from an interior hallway. I was in an interior room on the second floor. My room was clean and modern, a nice bed, small but serviceable bathroom with a flat screen TV, microwave and small fridge. The room was clearly updated in the last couple years. There was really not much decor, but plenty of plugs. When I had a problem with the TV, the front desk got a guy up to fix it and on the second day when my key didn't work, they reissued it for me. The heat/AC was actually controlled by a thermostat on the wall. Regal Inn is not particularly luxurious or stylish, but it was perfect as a place to stay at a very reasonable rate. The area has plenty of shops and restaurants; there is a gas station/convenience store across the street and a good Mexican Restaurant in the corner plaza. Clean and comfortable if not distinctive, a good choice for a budget stay. read more

Not bad. Had furniture that even Goodwill might reject, but it was clean, cheap, quiet. Wouldn't take a reservation but rooms were available. I stress clean, and there was a nearly overwhelming chemical cleaner smell in the room, perhaps the greatest objection to it. Nonetheless, it was clean and quiet. There was an unexpected $50 cash deposit required atop a major credit card. Beware you need to have the cash before you can rent a room. Easy to find. Might stay there again because of cheap and clean. read more

Quite a bit. A group friends and I reconvened at the end of the night for an end of night bday celebration. We were told only four people could spend the night- ok, no problem. My husband came in to use the restroom (since he was dropping me off). He was going to stay for cake and wish the bday boy a happy bday. The knock on the door by office management made no sense. I have had a wonderful stay at Regal Inn. The staff have been very accommodating and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. I needed an extended stay as I moved from one apartment to another and I feel very lucky to have made that choice Regal Inn. The nearby restaurants and grocery stores gave me the feeling I was already in a nice new neighborhood. The rooms were cleaned daily with a warm smile and the coffee which is a must for me in the morning was delicious. I recommend the Regal Inn and thank you again for making me feel at home. read more

I'm an over the road truck driver. I needed a place to stay for my 34 hour reset. The only local truck stop was full, so I looked online and found The Regal Inn. Much to my surprise, they have truck parking (tractor only) so I decided to book a room for two days. Upon my arrival, I immediately parked my truck and went to check in. The young lady working the front desk was very polite and very accommodating. When I asked if my truck was OK where it's at she simply replied. "Yes, your truck is fine." My room was great! Clean and very comfortable. First thing I noticed was there were no broken fixtures and no burned out lights, everything worked just the way it was supposed to. The room had a small refrigerator that was working and a small microwave oven too, heat things as well as a fairly good size television. The next thing I noticed was how quiet it was. There were no people hanging out in the parking lot, running up and down the walkways, and there was no loud music. So this made for very relaxing time. There were plenty of places nearby to shop and dine, Denny's was located right across the street. Not only that but O'Hare International Airport is less than 5 miles away which makes this a prime location. Would I stay here again? Absolutely and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling thru Chicago. read more

Decent for the cost, the parking lot and the outside area is clean and well kept, the front desk and other help are great. The rooms are bordering outdated. My rooms were always clean and housekeeping was super. What I hate about this place is the weekend clientele, it gets crazy here on Friday and Saturday nights. The smell of weed permeates the entire place, you can not escape it. The bumping of the bass in the music goes on at all hours. There were shootings at this place weekly (weekends). More than once we were approached in the early morning hours and demanded we give them $$$. This place wouldn't be that bad if they would be more selective of who they let stay here. We booked this hotel though hotel tonight for $73 dollars. The place is in an area where you would going you had a delayed flight or is a truck driver settling in for a night or two. Not a place where you would want stay for more then 2 night if you had to. The front desk was nice and polite. Even called the room to see how were doing. Room : walk in there is the large bed. Small bathroom and desk with TV , the wifi is on your key card paper. I was iffy because it just look iffy. Appearance: I know I was judging on appearance when hotel tonight made it look like one of those nice one it didn't show how the outside look so it was very shocked on the way it look on the outside. We both looked in doubt on how it look. We didn't look at Google maps since it was a need for a room/ cheap. Area : the area was not as bad, there is alot of Mexican food around other food places to wat for just a quick and go. We are Hooters.. not much attention there. Took long to get our food and to even leave. But hey ! What can you do. read more

Room: Could use some dusting and a better ironing board. The shower that we had was squeaky but the sound went eventually went away. Very pleased with how the room is set up. There was a lot of space! At night, we thought we would have a lot of noise but it wasn't noisy at all. We had restful sleep for our entire stay (3-night). The bathroom is spacious and had REALLY GOOD LIGHTING for all my ladies out there that need to do your makeup! I would definitely stay here again if back in the area! read more

The only way this place could get five stars would be if it were in a better location. Currently, it's kind of in a bit of a rural area, but convenient to the airport without the noise of overhead flights 24/7. Rooms and property are clean, parking lot is well-lit, and rooms are modern- they're nice and remodeled but ultimately it's a no-frills kind of place. Service is friendly, and they're family owned/operated, which is always nice to support. Prices were more than fair for the area, ~$80. Heads up: the location can be difficult to find if you're unfamiliar with the area. Navigating the 45/64 intersection is a bit tricky the first couple of times. read more

Just an ordinary motel from the outside but if you're looking for a great value close to O'hare or the near northwest suburbs this is a good option.The rooms have been updated with nice bathrooms and the parking is free which isn't always the case close to the airport. The staff was also very friendly and called my room after i checked in to make sure that everything was fine. Not something that normally happens at this price point. read more

Just checked in. There was a surprised naked guy in my room. While I tried to get another room at the front desk, my wife was propositioned twice for drugs and sex. A guy was wandering around trying to find unlocked doors. We told them there was no way in hell we were staying. We were told the fee was non-refundable. It's unusual to find this caliber of hotel outside the Congo. We're down the street at the Sheraton. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would!! I booked this hotel through Expedia. I was not able to check-in due to weather issues (tornadoes) on my travel route. I contacted the hotel to let them know the police had shut the expressway down because of the tornadoes and that we weren't going to make it. I contacted Expedia the next day, they have been in contact with the hotel 4 times and they refuse to issue a refund, even in the event of a natural disaster!! Please reconsider if you were thinking of staying here, they obviously don't care about people and their safety. read more

Perfect place to stay for an affordable price. The rooms were clean and big enough for families to stay in. Family owned with very welcoming staff who were so kind and nice to us. The coffee was delicious and free all day long! The owner's puppy is so cute and adorable and is sometimes around. Very close to O'Hare airport with easy access to city. Definitely worth staying here... I couldn't believe what a steal the price was. I've seen terrible hotel rooms that have charged way more than this place. Okay this motel isn't going to knock your socks off, but for $55/night it is the best bet around. They keep the (recently updated) rooms clean and the infrastructure of the hotel is solid. It's safe and the family managing it is on the ball. It is still a motel, but if you need a place to stay around O'Hare or even a cheap place to crash while in Chicago (provided you have a car), this is what you're looking for--and there are plenty of BAD options around at the same price point so watch out! read more

As soon as I got to the parking lot, I had already made up my mind to leave/cancel my four day reservation. Three sets of people hanging out on the balcony of the hotel reminded me of my days in the hood, like on the south side of chicago. I expected to see a prostitute coming out of a room with a client at any moment, and one guy asked me from across the parking lot, where you from, dawg? I'm sure he needed to know that information, maybe he was part of the welcoming committee? I never saw the inside of the rooms, so I can't speak to that. I cancelled, and paid my cancellation fee. Check in was brief, but the front desk guy was super nice and attentive. Our room was very clean, air conditioning worked great, and it even had a refrigerator and a microwave! Our king bed was okay, but the 4 pillows on the bed are kinda horrible unfortunately. They're just so small and squishy and square, so it was a bit hard for me to get comfy. Great!! Clean rooms, wonderful staff! I was touring with a band and we stayed here, obviously we are late sleepers. The staff was wonderful and accommodated us as we needed extra hours of sleep, and let us stay in the room well past check out with no extra charge! Stayed here for a couple hours over the night so I could catch up on some much needed sleep before a flight later that day. The staff is super nice and the check in process is very brief. While checking in I got a free upgrade to a business class room which I really appreciated.
