I like how you buy tickets through a kiosk and to save "more time" you can order your food. The workers in the front scanning the tickets were very friendly. However, the girl who helped us out in the "hot foods pick up" was rude af. There was another party standing in front of us but it took about 10 minutes until we flagged someone down to check in. The girl who helped us out, read our order, rolled her eyes and got us our popcorn. Mind you, the popcorn wasn't even hot and it was stale af. The seating was clean. Keep in mind, not all seating is a recliner. So when choosing your time, make sure to pick with recliner or it'll be a regular stadium but will still partially recline. read more

Get your tickets/seats online in advance. Kiosks to purchase are also available but most likely the popular movies will be sold out or all the good seats are taken. Beverages (nonalcoholic and alcoholic) and food are pricey but what's a good movie without buttery popcorn. The butter station needed to be thoroughly wiped down and swept for fallen popcorn. Not sure if you can ask for a tray or something to hold all your treats but it can be struggle to juggle drinks, popcorn, candy. I would highly recommend watching action movies via 4D. Hands down, no other way to experience it. Warning: you might get motion sickness. Plus, don't have any open containers in the cup holder because it WILL spill. This is our Go-To movie theater just bc we live nearby, the bar, different experiences (from 4D, IMAX, 4DX, RPX, VIP with service and the recliners). Concessions could get busy and I'm not entirely sure the Dipping Dots, coffee, and boba stands are open all the time. It's at least $20 per ticket. We're not the type that go on an opening day but we've never had a problem. If you want the more lucrative experiences you'll have to go around when the movie comes out. As a member we've accumulated enough points for free snacks or a movie. Service is nice. Location great. Overall, we like this place and will keep coming back. read more

The Spectrum wouldn't be the same without the Regal IMAX theaters. I have seen this place get a major transformation this year - and for the better! It's super sleek and has a high end feel. I love that they have little areas for sitting outside of the theaters. One thing I think would be great to see are some games - like air hockey! Also, the VIP theater could use QR codes for menus to order from your seat. I think that would be nice, especially with the $25 per seat price tag! Lastly, the bathrooms near more attention. I saw some scary sights in there during my last visit. I'm not sure if it's staffing or just a highly trafficked day, but that was the only really negative part of my experience. read more

The red seats smell like a bounce house and are so uncomfortable that I will never come back here. My girlfriend and I went to see Michael Jackson but we didn't expect to feel like we went 10 rounds with Rocky punching our spines. I was literally shocked, tickets over $20 and my girlfriend had to watch the movie leaning forward out of the chair. I cannot even express the level of discomfort, chairs designed by Satan in partnership with Jigsaw. At least I don't have to pay to go to the chiropractor anymore because I no longer have a functioning spine. read more

This is probably my favorite theater in all of SoCal! I drove 45 minutes just to see Sinners here four times in 70mm IMAX--and it was absolutely worth it. Each ticket was around $28, but I found a great way to save: I ordered Regal e-gift cards through Costco's website--$40 for a $50 value, which really helps if you're going multiple times. I also recommend downloading the Regal app. After just two visits, we had enough points to redeem a free small popcorn and drink! It's a great rewards program if you're a regular moviegoer. The location is also perfect for a fun date night. After the movie, you can walk over to Dave & Buster's for games and drinks. I recommend looking into their summer savings deals and going on Wednesdays when they offer 50% off games--it's such a fun (and affordable) way to end the night. Beyond the theater experience, the venue itself is fantastic. There are several food vendors in addition to the main concession stands, and the bar is a great touch--the bartenders were super friendly and made the experience even better. I had never actually been inside this Regal location but had always walked past it whenever I visited the Spectrum. I finally had the chance to check it out recently when I went to see a test screening at this location and I was surprised. The interior was really clean and I liked the design as well, especially the large screens high up on the wall. I thought those were pretty cool. Only thing I would say I didn't like was the seats in the auditorium I was in. They were a bit uncomfortable. But everything else was perfect. Went to see Project Hail Mary. Saw it in the Imax theater. The picture and the sound was awesome. Unfortunately the seats came from a 70's era DC-10. I don't understand why but they upholstered the seats with leftover plastic upholstery from the 1977 Ford Pinto. These luxurious seats reclined damn neat 2 inches. No foot rest. No lumbar support. I'm sure I'll get feeling back in my @ss sometime soon. Oh yeah Regal people buy some damn 3 in 1 oil. Every time someone sat down, stood up or just moved to get comfortable the rusted parts squeaked. Not a positive to your movie watching experience. read more

We hadn't been to a movie in about a year and a half and I don't think we had ever been this theater. Once we figured out which doors were unlocked (we saw a few others try to get into the locked doors as well), things were pretty smooth. We bought tickets a couple of hours before the movie at the kiosk which dispenses receipt type paper for your ticket. Time for the movie! The movie we picked was in a regular theater. No reclining chairs, but they were comfy enough. You could tell the seats were well used though with some cracks in the fake leather. The movie and sound were great. No complaints there. Overall, nothing to really complain about. We had just had lunch so didn't visit the concession stand, but the bathrooms were clean which is a huge plus. read more

If you want the biggest IMAX screen possible in Southern California, you have to come to the Regal at Irvine Spectrum. With the renovations done to to the entire theater after the pandemic, this is the premiere theater to go watch some of the newest and best films. The IMAX screen here is taller than the ones at the TCL Chinese Theatre and the Universal CityWalk. The only comparable IMAX screen is the one at the Regal in the Ontario Palace which is the same size. The inclusion of retail shops like Lavazza Coffee only help to elevate the overall experience along with the bars off to the side and the huge lobby when you walk in. Service has been great here every time I've shown up and food here has always been decent. Everything is well-maintained and clean. Parking is available in the structure behind the theatre and it's free! read more

The worst place to watch a movie. Came this weekend for the FIRST time expecting it to be a good experience just from the looks of it. Was NOT. I got a small popcorn and drink for an unreasonable price. Once we sat down we noticed that the seats weren't reclined, even though it said on the description that the seats were reclined. On TOP of that the people around had no self awareness, being extremely loud, having side conversations, people showing up late with their flash on disturbing people. People there are so privileged and have no self awareness. There was a worker there serveillancing the area but there action taken. People there are so rude. A girl rudely confronted another about a seat that wasn't even hers to begin with. Never coming back here again. Don't recommend, save yourself some money from this overpriced theater! read more

Great experience watching the IMAX 70mm screen. All seats were occupied and pretty close. All seats in IMAX are good seats. One can is the seats are pretty old and do not recline automatically. You can push back slightly, but it dirs to stay. The concessions were average and a non-factor. Enjoyable overall. read more

My wife and I came here for the first time to watch Wuthering Heights. The front row is almost unwatchable. The images and proportions are all distorted. In general, the entire theater is great. They have friendly staff. The bathrooms were clean. The snack bar was stocked. They serve alcohol. The theater itself was comfortable. The downside, we went to watch the new Beatlejuice movie, and felt like we watched 45 minutes worth of commercials before the actual movie started. It was a bummer and we had to leave. We were there early and had the movie started after 15 minutes of commercials, we would have been able to watch the rest of the movie. We had to be elsewhere and thought we'd have time to kill. There's even a Target and Apple store here for your convenience. I like that parking is ample and there's no fee. If you want to be pampered, they have valet parking here too. It's a great venue for family if each have their own preference. Hang out for teenagers and their friends. Bookstore for the little ones, nice al fresco resto for the parents while waiting. Snack Bar Manager was rude and unprofessional. I came in to see a movie a couple weeks back and received the wrong amount of change. I showed the math on my calculator because they couldn't do arithmetic in their head. They did a cash register count even though the change I received back was on the counter and untouched. I missed half an hour of my movie. I never received my correct change. Even when the cashier himself agreed with me and told them the amount input was not the amount received because I gave them extra change from my pocket. Home of the 70mm IMAX Theatre in Orange County - I came to watch Oppenheimer on National Cinema Day. The Irvine Spectrum was as busy as it can be. Parking was difficult to find, and I don't recall being this active since 2019. The entrance to the theater is grand and has a similar layout to the movie theater in Universal City Walk. What's different about this theater is that all the ticket purchases are done through the kiosk. They also have a separate vendor for the ABCs (alcohol, boba, and coffee). After waiting almost 10 minutes for popcorn, I left the line and headed toward the bar for booze instead. The entrance to Theater Room 12 (IMAX) needed to be clarified. You will not see a number by the door like all the other rooms; rather, a large IMAX display leads to a tunnel and eventually into a vast area. The screen must have been like five stories tall. This GIGANTIC SCREEN was spectacular for a movie like Oppenheimer. Did you know that The Oppenheimer IMAX 70mm Film Reel is over 11 miles long and weighs over 600 pounds? read more

They've recently renovated Edwards to fall in line with more modern theaters, some good and some bad. The good - reclining seats with seat service! Also, good location. Many stores to shop at while you wait for a movie. The neutral - no more window ticketeers. Now you order from a digital kiosk. Beer now on tap. That means you can fall asleep during the movie or stay awake to distract everyone. Options aren't always a good thing. The bad - no more special discounts and a higher ticket price, but also more convenience. Take that as you will. My last viewing was of the Joker, which I have to say that I enjoyed, even though it was not something that I expected. Perhaps that's the exact reason that I enjoyed it, but alas, I digress. Here for the 4DX showing of Twisters. Plenty of parking in the structure for the Irvine Spectrum, and you just walk on over. We were greeted and got our tickets scanned right as we entered the Regal Lobby. This particular theater is so spectacular when you walk in, with 3-D displays of upcoming new releases. We went to the 4Dx theater, and enjoyed the show. Not sure if 4D is needed for every movie, but for 'Twisters', featuring wind/rain/tornadoes/truck chases, it was the perfect format!! read more

This is the worst theater I've ever been to. I gave it three tries on different days, and somehow it got worse each time. I expected more from a location in Irvine, but even the IMAX wasn't worth it. The popcorn tasted worse than microwave bags, and the understaffing is a joke--30-minute lines just to get anything. The coffee stand had one poor person trying to take and make every order. The bathrooms? Disgusting. I'd genuinely rather hold it than step foot in there. And what's with 15 minutes of ads before the previews? Then another 20 minutes of previews with more ads in between. Place - movie theater that has lots of movies playing. As of print, I am screening the Flash tonight. Lots of peeps as Spidey is playing and then the screening of Flash as well. Food and beverage - this place certainly goes beyond just your run of the mill movie theater fare as it kicks up a notch with its adult beverages, B-Fresh drinks and Lavazza drinks and snacks on top of your standard hotdogs and popcorns. I usually love coming here because it's in the middle of the mall so you can shop and watch a movie. Today I came in to try and find my wallet. The manager with a beard and glasses was nice enough to go look. I started noticing there was a large crowd from outside coming in and was causing me some anxiety since 20 minutes had gone by and I was still standing there. I waited 20 minutes and finally went up to the guy because he had come back and I thought he was waiting to hear word from somebody. Already I had so much anxiety from the crowd of people and after I went up to him he ignored my glance. The info on the wallet was that it wasn't there and he could have told me sooner than later. OH MAH GOSH! I felt like a boomer (I am a boomer at heart lol) experiencing 4DX at Regal for the first time! The chairs rumble, move back/forth, air coming out, water spray, 4D glasses! I felt like I was in the movie! WOW! What an experience! If you have little ones or going out on a date or just hanging out with friends - try 4DX. It was so much fun. Everyone was happy and clapped their hands at the end. LOL. I purchased ticket online and paid the online "CONVENIENCE FEE" because it was fully booked within the hours of $4 announcement. You don't pay any extra fee if purchase at the theater but by then tickets are sold out or good seats are gone so kinda have to bite the bullet here with "FEES". This Regal looked nice on the outside and huge inside! I watched the movie in the early AM so it was not crowded. When I was leaving after the movie, there was quite a lot of people. Not to mention today was the annual $4 movie day! PARKING - if you come early in the day, parking is great! If you arrive later in the day - good luck with parking. I'm not sure what the point is of a "Senior" ticket option, if it's continuously the same price as a regular adult ticket?? Still a pricey theater with a popcorn and hotdog coming in at $30. Came for the 6:25pm showing of Long Legs. I bought the tickets online via Regal. We came in 15 minutes before the showing. Entry was simple after my ticket QR code was scanned. I was allowed to enter with my Shake Shack shake. Sat in auditorium 16 in row I in seats 7 and 8. It's a good view. The screen's not too close and you get a full view. I wish the seat had a button to recline although I've been in theaters where the seat didn't work. In this one they should all work since you're manually reclining yourself but if you're not consistently pushed back then the seat goes back to its original setting. The other thing is the red leather seats here are so uncomfortable. It feels like the back of the seat is pushing your head down so you just have to sit straight to avoid your head being pushed down. Not sure if this doesn't affect taller people but for reference I'm 5'5". The AC is definitely on in the auditorium but I always bring a hoodie to the theaters just in case. I've had better experiences like coming here to watch the Suga D-Day concert film and the seats in that IMAX auditorium were nowhere near as uncomfortable as the ones in theater 16. read more
