AMC Woodbridge must have gone through some major renovations in the recent years because it was not like this before. I remember when I used to frequent this movie theater, it was a dollar theater and the seats were so outdated. There were no reclining seats at all. But I did not complain about it because tickets were really cheap to see movies then. The prices now are on par with any other AMC locations. I just like this location because you do not struggle finding parking here. I have been making reservations to see a movie like minutes before driving over and get there right on time before the movie starts. The concession stand carries the same food items as the other AMC locations. There were more cashiers working from behind than before so I got popcorn, drinks, and snacks fairly quickly before the movie starts. read more

This review is for the awesome team at AMC Woodbridge: Kamron, Liam, Raul, Honii, and staff! My family and I came to see Wicked II right after Thanksgiving. Kamron went above and beyond to assist with redeem many of my online tickets which I had to search for in my email and gift card. His patience, willingness to help, and compassion is unmatched. Once I used all my etickets and gift cards, he offered to show me the actual seats to help me decide which seats to book. Then he helped me sign up for the annual membership for the great perks and deals. Kamron truly made our movie experience so special by providing us with a warm welcome when we returned for the movie. Liam, the manager, also spent time assisting me when I needed to redeem an outdated gift card. I'm very grateful for his patience, genuine kindness, and dedication for customer service. WOW! AMC Woodbridge has definitely turned itself around after my last visit here over a decade ago when I was a UCI student. The entire theatre underwent a full renovation, but I've never managed to have the chance to check it out, until yesterday. No longer are half the seats broken/partially-functional, they don't smell, the video isn't distorted, sound isn't weird, air isn't humid and campy. The seats here are all recliner style - plush and leathery. They sorta remind me like the first class seats on Alaska Airlines (I fly on AS a lot). Each seat is clearly labeled (to help with seat thieves), reserved seating when you book via the app, and a three-button panel that lets you recline the seat, as well as tri-level heating element. The great thing about this theater is there are only five screens/rooms. It's in a very compact space, which is a plus - if you need to go for a pee break during your movie, you don't have to run clear across the building (looking at you, AMC Orange) to relieve yourself. The restroom is just outside all five rooms. Concessions stand is also nearby the screening rooms as well, so you can get your popcorn or soda refill (they have two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines here) - as well as all the other condiments. Each of the screening rooms have a really nice seating arrangement. The rooms aren't vast and wide like AMC Orange, but more intimate/cozy. There are fewer seats - which make for a better viewing experience if you ask me - fewer people. Concessions were good as you can expect them to be for a theater. Prices were definitely higher - but there's not many food options in the plaza if you plan to stay here and watch back to back movies like I did. I picked up Movie Nachos and a soda - the nachos were great! Sign up for their AMC club to get points for your next food purchase. All staff that I ran into yesterday were super friendly - including the first guy who was wearing a AMC polo but didn't have a name tag - who offered me a paper ticket after he scanned my app and I inquired about their AMC Kiosk (they don't have one here). I usually like to save paper tickets in a scrapbook, as a collection of all the movies I see at a theater. Jordan was the other ticket taker I spoke to for the second movie I watched - and he was equally friendly and personable. Really great and friendly staff here!!! Finally, parking is awesome here. Again, comparing to my experience at AMC Orange - parking is free and you're steps from the theater entrance. AMC Orange at the Block requires you to navigate through their mall to get to the theater, but you don't have to deal with that over here at AMC Woodbridge. If you're able to deal with the limited screenings, this is definitely a great spot to grab a movie. There's a Yogurtland in the plaza for after-showing desserts - sucks that the Ruby's diner closed down though. read more

I came to this amc last night to see the new weapons movie! They have half off tickets every Tuesday and Wednesday, which is such a steal. I appreciate that there is a movie theater conveniently located in this area. This theater is on the smaller side, but they still have recliner and heated/ac seats, as well as a full snack bar. The workers were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back to amc Woodbridge to see the latest new films :) read more

This theatre is such a hidden gem. I came to watch the Accountant 2 and I now want to come watch all movies here. It is a smaller theatre but so clean and with incredibly friendly staff. Parking is right in front of the theatre and there is plenty of space. Even the bathroom was in order and the female one offered toiletries for those in need of them which was a lovely detail. The seats recline and people were respectful. They have yummy snacks available and food as well. read more

The snack selection is pretty good considering this is a bit smaller than your average AMC: fresh popcorn, pretzel bites, nachos, hot dogs and of course lots of candy. The theaters are nice as well. We learned from a fellow Airstream owner that this location had the coveted Accountant 2 promotional Airstream popcorn buckets. Management made sure we got one! Yay for us! We typically go to Irvine Spectrum or the Block at Orange. However, this is our new favorite find! It's 10 minutes from our job and we can't wait to plan our next movie date. This AMC is so useless, just a waste of space. They are always playing only 3-4 movies with like 10 different times for each. Like can we see something different for gods sake??? And they keep the same 3 movies for like 6 weeks like enough. And I get that they only have 4 auditoriums but at this point what is the point???? Like I can drive an extra mile and go to the Tustin one and see something OTHER than zootopia that have been in that theatre for a decade. This is the first time I've been here since they updated/remodeled it. Great sound and seating. The seats don't recline but they do have the leg rest that moves up and down and the seats are heated. The price is now like all the other theatres. I do like neighborhood vibe movie theatre and very close to my place. But it is a smaller theatre. Staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. There's also a few places to eat, gas station and Circle K that's open all night all in the same area. Definitely will be my go to place to go see movies. read more

I love this theater!! Staff is ultra friendly and their spirit reminds me of Disneyland! Even though it was super busy they don't try to rush you through your order and is actually helpful! The chicken tenders had a nice crunch and it never disappoints. The pretzel bites are a bit oily though and perhaps a bit too salty so that can be an improvement. The seats are comfy and the theater feels clean and comfortable. Will continue to come here if they maintain the cleanliness and friendliness! read more

Great theater, it's just a little smaller than I expected. It's located in a shopping plaza, but finding parking is fairly easy because of how big the parking lot is. The seats are really comfortable and have a reclining function with three different heat settings. My only issue was that the seats don't fully recline all the way like other theaters. They stop at a certain point so your feet end up dangling off the edge a bit, but the seats are still very comfortable. Other than that, I'm really pleased with my experience. The workers were all kind and attentive to my needs. I'll definitely be coming back in the future. read more

This is my preferred AMC. Okay, it's a smaller cinema compared to Tustin. However, I love that there's reclined and heated seats. I saw "Wicked" and "Sonic 3" at this venue. The staff was very friendly and also weren't afraid to show their nerdy side as well; very friendly to geeks who are going to see their "event" movies. The theaters are well maintained and clean. No shortage of popcorn buckets either. The parking situation is pretty good; we're able to get a decent space because it's such a small theater. I'll be coming here often! read more

Nothing to complain about this AMC. It's a tiny place but since they just refurnished the chairs, it's a tiny place with "flavor". They have reclining seats that also are heated. Bad thing about the reclining seats is that it doesn't go as far back as other reclining chairs at other places. This place also doesn't offer any premium formats. Other than that, still a solid place to go to that won't be crowded. Tip: I like to sit on row D as it has the best viewing angle. Came here to catch a movie. It was OK. Here is what I liked, and didn't like. Liked - Smaller theater. 5 screens, only! - $7.00 Tuesday tickets - Close parking Didn't Like - The Seats. You can tell this is an old school theater because it has a ramp that slopes down towards the screen...no stairs. At one point it had rows of regular seats. Since, its been converted to the "recliners" but even then, they aren't comfy! They don't recline all the way. The foot rest does not go up straight, it ends at an angle. The back of the chairs are comfy with a "pillow like" headrest, but the footrest was whack. Not sure why you wouldn't get seats that can fully recline. Would I come back? Yeah, on Tuesdays, and if I'm near my buddies house. Have been to much nicer theaters. This one was just OK. read more

Came to this AMC to watch Weapons a month ago and have not received a response from AMC support so I am reviewing here. The attendant who scanned our tickets told us to head to Auditorium #1 to watch the film, as we entered we sat down and basically caught the last ten minutes of the movie, completely spoiling it all. When we went to ask the attendant about the movie he nonchalantly said it was actually Auditorium #3, and said we could still catch it but we'd probably missed a few minutes of the beginning. He did not care about this mishap and we felt that it was pointless to watch the movie knowing the ending and feeling like the attendant couldn't care less, no apology or anything. So rude and a waste of time and AMC is still lagging on responding. A waste of a ticket, do not come here the attendants are careless at their job. read more

Went here to see the new Ghostbusters movie, the movie was okay, but the theater was amazing! The screens have been upgraded, the seats and unfortunately the food has been upgraded as well, so no more cheap stuff. It's not the cozy little theater it once was, but I like the upgrades. There was a ton of thought put into this place, it doesn't feel old, but it does feel a bit more upscale than expected. It doesn't fit the "dollar theater" it once did, but now it's like having a high class area in a crappy parking lot. This shopping center needs to update the parking structure, because a ton of people who park to enjoy the movies aren't the same people who park here. read more

Went to see Twisters with family. Service was quick and efficient. There are 6 screens. Seats and screens are upgraded loungers. They are soft yet supportive. After returning home we discovered a cellphone was left behind. The manager confirmed it was found, and we were able to retrieve it. read more

The ticket prices are $7 per person and the theater is pretty big with comfortable seats and a good sound system. The bathrooms are pretty clean too. It's alright, nothing special about this location. The original design was pretty descent, with a wheelchair ramp for handicapped guests. I don't know the current layout, it's been closed for a few months. I just know the previous layout and this play had awesome popcorn and hot dogs. When it was a dollar theatre, I saw the Lego Movie, Captain America: Winter Soldier and a bunch of other movies. This was a good movie theater for years, the only problem was it had rats at this location. Not just that, the owner who bought this theater in the early 2000's was a Mormon, and only hired Mormons to work here. That didn't last very long, eventually he got exposed for racism, despite it being a religion, because all Mormons in Irvine who worked there were white. Eventually it became a dollar theater, and now it's an AMC theater. I heard it was Starplex at some point (after 2006), but for some reason I think it was originally a Regal Cinema because they owned everything around here. I find it odd how Irvine, of all places, can have a dollar theater in it's location where it doesn't sound like a poor place. Then it's dollar theater tries to rip people off, the customers get confused and it becomes obscure again, it's really strange how that cycle repeats. See you in another 5 years dollar theater. Love this neighborhood theater! It just went through a renovation and has amazing, comfortable seating (which recline and have seat warmers!). The best part is that you can reserve your specific seats online. I love knowing exactly where I'm going to sit without having to get there early. The staff here is always friendly and easy to talk with. We've done a full theater rental here and it was an amazing experience (and so easy to book!) We come here more than the bigger theaters nearby and couldn't recommend it more! read more

I haven't gone to AMC Woodbridge in years and today, I went there watching a matinee show, and oh wow, I was impressed. The theater staff warmly greeted us and showed us our theater immediately. The concession staff was also efficient and helpful. They do serve alcohol there. Once we got into the theater, we realized they did a great job renovating the seats. They are spacious and reclining comfortably. Had no issues with the sound system and the movie played on time and ran well. We used the restrooms after the movie, and both men and women restrooms were kept clean. Outside area was maintained well with hand sanitizers and cleaning wipes stations. The floor was not sticky to walk on. I honestly had a wonderful time there and would go back again. read more

I specifically checked in to this theater because I had to write a review for this great old movie theater. Although I hadn't been here in years, my wife and I wanted to see a light comedy, but not spend $14 each at a regular theater for an hour long movie. What's amazing is that I received better service at this inexpensive classic style theater than I do at the more modern mega theaters that cost 3 times as much. Buying tickets is usually a very basic non-memorable occurrence. However, this visit was not that. The young lady at the ticket booth was so friendly and helpful. She seemed to genuinely care and listen. My wife asked if they would let her bring in a coffee from the next door cafe and she didn't hesitate to say yes. She asked how I was doing in the new year and if I had been having a good one so far. She took her time with me to sign me up for a membership even though I don't go to AMC theaters that often. She told me it would be very fast and that I wasn't holding anyone up. She wished me a great day and lovely weekend. Next, I went to the concession stand for some popcorn and again the young man at the counter was as friendly as I've ever had. Once I was done ordering, he asked if I wanted a water cup or anything else. Again, he seemed to genuinely care that I was having a good experience. While the theater is old and outdated compared to most of the ones I normally go to, I actually enjoyed it for the charm and memories it brought back from my childhood of going to the movies. This isn't a 5 star review because it's the most modern, biggest, brightest, loudest, or newest theater. It's a 5 star review because of what so many of those theaters miss, superior customer service. And I commend the management and staff for making customer service a priority. read more
