Anyway, my usual place had no availability when I was able to get childcare for my kids so decided to see if The Spa could accommodate me. Thankfully I was able to get an appointment! The Spa is such a good find. It's tucked in so it's quite relaxing and quiet. They have a lot of staff and so many colours to choose from. The last few times, I have had Kelly work on my nails and she has been great. A classic pedicure done by her will keep for a long time, including your feet staying smooth. I found Allure Nail Bar online after I was searching for a nail salon that did similar techniques…read moreto a "russian manicure" (where they use a drill bit to carefully file your cuticles). They did an amazing job, but after pushing back my cuticles and filing them, my cuticles were still there so I asked them to cut them off. This extra step counted as a manicure so it was an extra $12 charge? Which, okay fine.. but it just added to the cost of everything. For a gel refill (+2 nail fixes since they popped off from my first appt), plus design, plus covid PPE costs, & tip, it came up to almost $150! I don't understand how people can keep getting their nails done with these prices. I was okay paying for it since I needed PERFECT nails for my wedding - and I am BEYOND happy with the outcome, but the price is keeping me from going back unless for a special occasion. (The first time I went for a full set of gel nails & 1 colour with sparkle on top came up to $90 with tip).. so almost double the price if I went to a basic nail salon. You do get what you pay for, but again, not sure how people can keep up with these prices. I would still definitely recommend going to Allure Nail Bar. All the staff are friendly, clean up after each client, and know how to execute your nail look 100%.

I have been happy with my past two visits. I'm on my third week of having gel polish and it hasn't even chipped! Some things to note - make sure to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. In April there was a ice storm and I asked to reschedule due to the poor road conditions. However, they said there would be a charge the next time I came back. I ended up going because I didn't want to be charged. I know it's a business but there should be some leniency when the weather is really bad. If you get a manicure they don't charge for polish removal. If you write a review you'll get 15% off (I think...or it's 10% off). Looking forward to my next visit this week!

I walked in on the fourth day which was today on a Tuesday asked them to fix my nails and they made me wait 10 minutes two fix two nails. As I finally got to sit down they gave an attitude towards me because I asked them to fix my second nail that was chipped. I paid them good on Friday and I always tip and they shouldn't have made me feel this way, guilty. I am not going to feel guilty for the job that was done poorly to my nails. I am a paying customer that should have been treated with respect and quality service. I love my nails now but the service isn't nice they don't tell you their name or ask customers how their day went... So I'm conclusion I would go back if they haven't given me an attitude and my nails wouldn't chip on the third day. Plus prices aren't that bad but they charge extra for some things that other places don't charge..

One thing that is very unprofessional at these nail salons are that they speak their own language which can make a customer feel very uncomfortable. Finally when it was my turn, the lady rushed, got nail polish on everything and took less than 5 minutes with me. Now, its been less than 24 hours and my nail polish has chipped, so I will be going back to get them fixed up. After today, I will no longer be going to this salon for my nail needs, sorry.

That being said, I went a couple times when I first moved to Brampton, and it was always busy when I stopped by the plaza, so I thought that was a good sign. To be honest, wasn't anything special about my first couple visits, standard mani/pedi, and the massage was always pretty short and not hard enough even when asked for more pressure. The staff tend to chit chat a lot with each other and didn't seem to want to talk to me when I tried chatting with any of my nail techs. My final visit was really, to put it bluntly, down-right dangerous! The nail tech doing my pedi decided to watch the movie playing on their tv, which is at the back of the salon. She was so interested in the movie that she clearly wasn't looking at any of her work while she continued to use sharp tools on my skin! Eventually I started timing her to see how long it would take her to turn away from the tv. It was minutes! I also had to remind her to use the scrapping tool for calluses. Lastly, when she smudged the nail polish, instead of taking off the previous 2 coats, she tried to put another coat on! I had to politely ask her to remove it and please redo that one nail, which she clearly wasn't happy about judging from her sour facial expression. That was my last appointment, because I work in the beauty/service industry too, and while I know sometimes it's tough, I can't even imagine treating my clients with such disregard.
