Movie: The Blackening Pros: Once movie finally started, it was really really good. Cons: so we sat in the theater with no sound for 20 mins! Three people went out to say something and it took a minute for the issue to be addressed! This is a Black film with a Black cast that I came to support and Im utterly disappointed! read more

Now you can reserve you reclining seats at purchase! It still cost so much to enjoy the movies but worth it to catch your favorite flicks! Come early to get snacks on time if you wanna catch the trailers. We sat on the back row and it looked clean. It was not a busy day so we didn't have trouble with seats. We tried to go 720pm on Saturday and it was sold out. Simply put, this is the best theater in Salem. The facility is the newest in Salem and features stadium seating, several screens, more variety than any other theater in 20 miles. Before this place was built, it was the last location where a historic drive-in theater used to be and was a true landmark to the Southeast of town. After the construction of this new theater was complete, it sparked a lot of new life in the area and continues to be a hot spot for youngins during the weekend. The theater itself is good, ample space, comfy seats, and decent concessions / bathrooms. If there is any gripe, its the parking during peak hours as it feels impossible to find a spot at times. I don't think the developers realized how popular this place would become, but I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to expand a little later down the line. read more

Pretty average movie theater. Floors were a little dirty because of people spilling their popcorn. I don't really know if that's the cinemas fault of people just don't know how to aim in their mouth. Most of the popcorn though was at concession. Service was also a little slow at concessions. They seemed to be well staffed but no one was communicating with each other which slowed down everything. It took us awhile to get popcorn and a drink. The guy behind he counter was really nice but a little slow. The seats were comfortable which is always nice at a movie theater. I didn't feel that I needed to shift around to be comfortable. Some of the patrons seemed difficult to deal with but the staff handled it professionally which I appreciated. Well I'd love to tell all about my experience in this movie theater establishment. I arrived approximately 20 min early and ensured I had my ticket downloaded to my phone. I had left any distracting noise makers like keys in the car save my single car key. I walked past a sign at the box office that said head to concessions to get your ticket. I went inside and found three lines with two people in each. I guessed randomly what would be fastest and they were all about the same. I just wanted a water and to confirm my location in line. I was greeted by a young lady who rang my order promptly and offered me the regal card. I declined as another seemingly manager maybe took my phone approximately 5 feet away to scan it. It returned in the same configuration with no apparent alterations to my screen or assumed privacy agreement. I then found the very clear sign marking the theater hallway but got turned around because I didn't see the correct theater door. I went in a loop thinking I'd gone the wrong way. After finding someone who was coming from a service door I asked them where my theater was and they pointed me the right direction. Now with reserve seating if you're going to the movies alone you are generally forced to take a seat by a party even though no one is next to you on the other side it creates a boundary issue which it did after I sat in my designated seat. Not too long after a young man maybe in his early to mid 20's and sits next to me. This is expected. It was my fault getting to the theater early when I'd reserved my own but there were around 20 min commercials and then several more ads for movies or maybe a movie series by the makers of the Avengers film we are watching, franchise unrelated project. This went on for some time. Before the "real" trailers started the man next to me asked if I would move seats so I wouldn't be next to him. I told him I'd give people enough time being late before moving to which he agreed. Several trailers later I switched seats nearby that had good viewing angle and were far enough away from the man who had asked. No conflicts. Then the movie started. I can speak at great length about the movie but that's not the fault nor praise of the theater playing it necessarily. I then left the movies and used the restroom which was relatively clean and went home. It was a surreal experience of being humans together in the world and watching the end of a long saga together. Went here on 10/20 to see the Terrifier 2 at 7:40 PM. The movie was great , the theater was clean and the staff was friendly. This is only my second time coming to this movie theater, but I don't think I'll be back. Both times I have been here, people in the audience would not shut up. Maybe you can just hear them more because the seats are closer, but I don't seem to have this issue when I go see movies at Willamette town center. Who talks during an entire movie? Do parents not teach their kids to be respectful of others anymore? If I wasn't with my girlfriend, I would have turned around and told them to shut the F up. No one needs to hear your commentary. If you don't mind listening to other people talk the whole time though, this movie theater is probably great for you! read more

Theater is good, pleasant staff and an easy to find room. However while we were in there someone stole the catalytic converter from our truck. Tried calling the theater after we found out the problem and there is absolutely no way to get ahold of them. After sitting through the 10 minutes of phone monologue to get to the actual specific theater we needed, it rang for a while. Finally it sounds like someone answered, but then immediately hung up on us. We tried a few times and it never answered. We just wanted to let them know it happened and ask if there was any video from outside that could identify the thief's. The movie was good but the outcome from their parking lot was terrible. Whatever!! I have saved my regal movie gift certificate for a year. New movies suck these days. When I found out wizard of oz was playing I was excited! Finally, I can used my gifted tickets. We get there & my hubby stands in the cold air & long line. The ticket lady tells him he can't use to gift tickets. My hubby ask why? She proceeds to talk louder and louder until she was basically yelling at him. My hubby was surprised she took such offense to use wanting to us these tickets. The manger came to the window and said it was a special engagement. Why they didn't offer to take the tickets and have us pay the extra price - a whole whopping $3.00! We took our useless gift ticket and went home. Hope the tickets are still good next year! read more

When this theater opened, it was state of the art. It was the first multi-plex in Salem to offer Stadium seating and upgraded surround sound. Now, it is the ugly older sister to the newer, younger one just up the road. BUT, if you are looking to see a movie that has been out for a couple weeks, chances are, this is one of two theaters that will have it in Salem. Seeing a movie in this theater is okay and you can be assured the theater won't be crowded, and there will be parking available. Having just eaten, we didn't feel the need to gorge ourselves on the concessions, so we got in and out pretty cheap. The seats are comfortable enough and the arm rests go up, giving you plenty of arm or snuggle room. read more

Went to Gone With the Wind, and a far majority of customers were elderly, including my in-laws. The sound was sooo low that most could not hear the lines. Several customers left the movie to ask if the sound could be increased, but I did not notice any difference. During the intermission I looked for management, but not to find a manager I approached a young lady to request the volume be turned up. She was wearing headphones, looked at me, and then said 'I know she's already turned it up several times so I don't know if she'll do it again.' I thanked her, but added that many still could not hear ... to which she rudely responded 'I don't know'. This was a special event movie, and most had difficulties hearing it. Then I recieved very rude responses from an employee. I was very disappointed, to say the least. Can't anyone be kind and considerate anymore? read more

Everything is great except the ticket counter. They do NOT understand when they need to open a second or third line. Today it was raining and they had a large line of at least 30+ people and they still only had one person selling tickets but had four people selling snacks with only a few people in that line. Regal Santiam 11 has been our theatre of choice in Salem for years, but now we're questioning whether we'll ever go back. Went to buy tickets for "Dumbo " this afternoon only to discover that now patrons must reserve seats as they purchase tickets by looking at a seating plat and picking a numbered seat. This might make sense if it was the opening weekend of a blockbuster, but this theatre was not one of those with fancy recliners and food service; it had many open seats and a small audience on a Saturday afternoon. We were stuck in some seats we would never have chosen just walking in, especially when we found that they were right in front of people who were having a loud conversation all through the previews and behind a group that were obviously enjoying their movie snacks at full volume! If there ever is a next time for us at this theatre, we will wait until the movie starts then come in and sit in any open seats that please us, which up until today we always had the option to. Boo, Regal! Can you possibly make the theatre experience any less pleasant? read more

My son took me out to the movies tonight. What a treat! He's such a good kid. We get there, and he has money for him and a free pass on the family regal card. When we get to the window, she rings up the movie and tells us $20. No problem, he says. He hands her the cash and says that there is a free movie on the card. She says she can't do that. We have to pay for the movie, and then she'll swipe our card and it will print out a free ticket to the movies for our next visit. Bummed cuz he didn't have enough money for us we sulk back to the car. When I get in the car, I tell him he should go tell his plight to the manager. He gets up the courage and heads back. I can tell he was nervous. So he goes to ask if the manager can please take the movie off of the card and let him use it tonight, as it was his Christmas present to me. I'm waiting in the car. About five minutes later he shows up and SURPRISE...he has two free tickets to the movie. She gave him both tickets for free...and left the free one on the Regal card for us. How nice of her! Talk about customer service. We get in the theater and claim our seats...and enjoy the previews. Then the movie starts. Well, just as it starts...it disappears. We all sit there for about ten minutes waiting. Finally it comes back on. Not from the beginning, but from the point in the movie where it would be had the screen not gone blank. Bummer. But we watched and enjoyed. After the movie was over, the same manager came in and told everyone to show their tickets to her and she would give them a movie pass for a free screening. I assumed we wouldn't get one as we were seeing this for free. But as we approached, she said "I remember you two very well...here you go". WOW! She was awesome. She made my son's night, which by osmosis, made my night. Thank you very much. No matter what, this theater will always get my business thanks to the manager here. They have a client for life. By the way, the movie was "Due Date" with Robert Downey Jr and Zack Galafianackis. Funny movie. I'd give it 3.5 stars out of 5. read more

I went to watch the longest ride today and an older lady was at the register selling tickets outside so I told her that I enacted to get two tickets and I used agree movie ticket then she proceed to ask me if I had a rewards card and I was like I think I do so began looking for my card in my wallet but I did not find it then we payed herewith cash and the I remembered that I had a smaller reward card on my keys so I asked her if it was too late to get my points and she said its it but "I am just trying to get the line moving" when there were only two people behind us! I thought that was so rude and it's not fair for her to act with consumers like that because she is basically getting paid to be nice to people and helpful! read more

Every year my best friend and I always make a thing about seeing the academy award nominated movies in the theaters. Because of our busy work schedules we had to cram several cinematic experiences into one night. We caught Frozen at 9 at Lancaster Regal and then came here for an 11:55 showing of Wolf of Wall st. One of the chairs, I kid you not, it smelled like urine. It was really bad. I was really debating giving this place 2 stars for that reason, but I've been here other times and its always been decent. The urine was an outlier. Still, that particular smell is burned into my olfactory memory. Also, they show some special events like the Dr. Who specials, so that redeemed a star. If I had to choose between this theater and Regal Lancaster, I would choose Lancaster. read more

I took my grandson to the movies. At the concession stand the staff was very rude. I ordered a coffee, and the staff person told me that he would bring it to me inside the theater. 30 minutes later I hadn't received my coffee, so I went back to the concession stand. There was no one in line, and the staff (all very young) were laughing and goofing around. I asked where my coffee was. The staff person who had waited on me was very rude again, and said he forgot. The manager asked if I just wanted I refund, and I said yes. Then she said she couldn't give me one, that the register wasn't letting her. So I never got refunded for a $5 cup of coffee, and never got my coffee. I feel because I am a senior citizen they thought it was ok to rip me off. read more

I am from Las Vegas, Nevada where guest service is very important and I was impressed with Priscilla's professionalism and friendless.
