Employees were kind of rude when I went into the movies, they were very cautious if I brought in outside food demanding to check everywhere

Went to see Mandalorian and Grogu in 3D, and they didn't turn off the house lights when the movie came on. Hard to see the screen. I asked if they could turn the lights off and they told me no because it was a safety issue. I've never been in a fully lit theater like that. It was super annoying. Don't know what this safety policy is? Never seen any other theater do this? Pretty bad. read more

Went to see the new Star Wars movie in 3D today. When the movie started, all the lights turned off, then the whole right side of the theaters lights turned back on. After waiting a few minutes to see if they would turn off, I went out to the lobby where another person was already saying the lights were still pretty bright. The employee working stated they keep some lights on low for safety reasons. I know they keep the wall sconces on, but the ceiling lights (on the whole right side) were on the entire movie. I've never gone to a movie here with those lights on before. Idk if this is new, but it totally killed the vibe. I wouldn't see another movie here again bc of this. read more

I went on a weekday morning to a first run showing. There were others buying tickets but must have been for something else as I was the only one in the theatre the entire time. You won't get a complaint from me about that. I'm sure it won't happen again. The snacks were on point. They have Coke products which are rare as Pepsi dominates most of the theatres now. The seats were comfortable. I'll definitely come back to see a movie here again. read more

This theater was so dirty, it smelled awful. The popcorn had a funky taste and was old. Me and my daughter felt uncomfortable the whole time we were there because of the smell. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Occasionally they have hired some people that seem pretty unhappy to be working there. But for the most part, staff are helpful and friendly. And sometimes, they even seem excited that you're there, yay! Popcorn is fresh most of the time, seats are comfortable though some are getting worn and should be replaced. Sometimes they'll run out of a certain drink or the drink machine won't work right. Stadium seating is great and bathrooms have always been clean. Love that Tues are $5 for a movie all day! Being a premier member is a HUGE value. For $15/year (though I was able to get it online for $10 during a promotional sale), you can to purchase your tickets at the concessions area. And you get to use the priority line. In addition, you get points from anything you spend which can be redeemed as money towards purchases. So I actually came out ahead. But even if I didn't earn the cost of the membership back, I'd still pay $15 for the convenience of being able to buy tickets at the concessions and to be able to use the priority line. The downside though is that sometimes the employees don't seem to recognized that you're there and will just help the people in the regular line. So then it doesn't feel so special to be a Premier Member, lol. But most of the time it's great. read more

Half the soda machines weren't working butter wasn't working in half the pumps no salt. This is just on entry to the first showings of the day. TURN OFF THE LIGHTS if this is for safety get better insurance! Absolutely ridiculous to have the lights shining in my eyes while trying to watch a movie. It was a nice vibe , went to watch nope, only complaint was the screen we were in , 4 I believe, had a strange off color tint that made white seem yellow , and it was irritating. But overall seats were alright, and the drinks were also good. Loved to be greeted before going to screenings , but at least if you have a ton of posters that are free anyways , you will have tons of left over ones. Always have had a great experience going to this theater. I like that the entrance and exits are separate especially for late night movie goers. Employees are friendly. Seats are comfortable. Prices for movies are great, they change throughout the day so you can always get a great price for attending. read more

Very local low key theatre. Good prices and nice AC. Would like to see some interior upgrades but still a clean theatre with pleasant staff and all the treats you need to get thru the movie. Saw Dungeons and Dragons and felt the sound was good and the seats were comfortable. read more

The seats in this theatre are old, worn and uncomfortable. On another note, the movies shown are not geared for people who prefer less violence and language suitable for families. For example, the Father Stu movie has recently been redone to purposefully remove offensive language (which the original version had). Because the story is uplifting Mark Wahlberg redid to meet viewers' demand. Too bad AMC is not offering this version. read more

By far the worst movie theater I have been to. 2 of the men workers were very rude and creepy towards me. We went to a late movie about 10pm and they were out of half of the food and drinks on the menu. A movie theater shouldn't show movies late if they aren't going to have the food and drinks that come with going to the movies. This theater also needs a tremendous interior upgrade. Tried this place out for the first time last night. I've technically been there once before (last year) but just to buy a gift certificate for a friend that is now invalid since AMC bought the theater (waste of $25). Being Tuesday, I figured the pricing would be cheaper. There is supposedly a Tuesday evening promotion for cheaper pricing. It was nearly $11.00 per ticket. That's not cheaper. I was told it would cost less if I signed up for their member program. (I called back again today to plead my case and spoke with a gentleman named Robert. He told me that AMC was honoring all of the old Carmike Cinema gift cards. No idea why I was told differently the first time. I'm going to give it as a Christmas gift and cross my fingers it works. So I'll up my review score for Robert's help and keep it that way unless they decline it for some reason.) They want your name, e-mail, and telephone number. I was told that if I also gave them my date of birth I would get a free popcorn. I gave them my DOB and the girl cleaning out the concession area had no idea what free popcorn I was talking about. Granted, we were seeing a late show (after 8pm), but everything was already cleaned out. I did not get any such free popcorn. We were in theater #3. It is beat to hell. The seating is in massive need of an upgrade. They show an advertisement for AMC before the movie that shows these great seats and accommodations, but they aren't in the theater I am sitting in right now, so I'm calling BS. The place is small, too. Maybe it is just that room, but it wasn't very clean, there was stuff still in the seats from previous groups, the seats were torn and beat up. It just didn't leave a good impression walking in. Also, I should mention that where the concessions are and where you buy tickets is lousy. It's cold outside, so if there was a line and the front doors opening all the time, you would freeze to death waiting to buy a ticket if it was busy. The concession has some tables to sit at between the concessions that are along both the right and left. If you sit at the tables you can't see all of the front doors. My date nearly walked in and bought tickets to the movie that I had already bought tickets for because I didn't see her walk in. Very lousy design. All in all, I'm okay with going again or never going back. Old theaters, employees who don't know their own systems (think free popcorn), high prices, and a weird layout -- I'd rather pass more often than not. The Cinemark in Springfield is light years ahead of this one. Updated seating, better pricing structure, easy layout. I'd much rather spend my money there. read more

If i could give a negative review I would. My boyfriend and I arrived 13 minutes late to our movie that our friends were waiting for us in. The doors were all locked and the workers inside were blatantly ignoring us knocking on the door. Mind you the movie still has over 1 hour runtime. A guy walked out and said they wouldn't let us in (a customer running to his car) he said he'd let them know we had tickets and when the worker came to let the man back in she almost ignored us again. She then rudely said she could not let us in because they closed down the food. We showed the tickets we had bought online and she said they were closed. Had to ask for a refund and she said do it through the app. Terrible service it's literally 8 on a tuesday , how are you being rude to customers who paid. edit: it says open until 11pm, how can you actually lock out paying customers when movies are still running?? read more

This theater has really fallen apart since AMC took it over. We went to see Spider-Man on opening weekend, so presumably this was in one of the largest theaters. The first three rows of seats had many threadbare or completely ripped cushions with foam exposed. This is completely unacceptable. Also, the "premier member" line for concessions is a terrible idea. Someone essentially used it to cut in front of me and I'm sure I'm not the only one this has pissed off. I'm driving to Salem from now on to see first-run movies. It's really unfortunate, this was a great theater when Carmike owned it. read more

SO lackluster... Visiting my parents from Phoenix (we are used to Harkins and Alamo Drafthouse - look them up, emulate them, be better AMC!) and dropped in for a movie. Just a handful of people slowly working to get us tickets and popcorn. The price of popcorn and a drink is ridiculous! Toppings are extra (again, look up Harkins...). Overall, was not impressed but probably the best place in Corvallis for a movie, thus the one star if you're desperate enough. read more

There are times when being a poor college student just sucks, I mean we get slammed with tons of reading and hw and then on top of that we study hrs on end. However I now think about Enjoying the little things ;) (jest in case you don't know its from Zombieland) I have been to this theater twice now, the first time I took Marie to see UP last summer. Recently we just saw Where the Wild Things Are. The theater is very nice inside, its clean and there are a good number of theaters. We always get the good seats. The best thing is they have a STUDENT DISCOUNT!!!!! ^_^. With our student ids its only $6.50 a person!!!!!! Damn I love the little things ;) read more

Workers were friendly and helpful with using my AMC app and the movie sound and picture quality were good. Now the negatives...While the lobby was pretty well kept, the hallways, theaters and bathrooms were seriously run down. I used 2 different bathrooms and both were very dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned or re-stocked in a couple days. One of the toilets I used didn't flush and the paper towel dispenser was empty. This place is in definite need of a refresh! read more

It's a very small theater, in a relatively small town. So options are a bit limited and no real competition. My husband and I came here on an impulse after we had visited Kmart in the same parking lot. The selection of movies seemed pretty normal, although the ads for upcoming movies are bundled in with current playing movies outside, so that can be a little confusing and annoying. The employees are ok. Nothing special, but they aren't terrible either. They appear more bored than anything. They have kind of a cafe theme inside near the concession stand area. They do serve alcohol, which would get huge points with me if the choices weren't crap. I really wish they had a wider variety, or at least one beer I drink. It's a theater I've only been to twice, and simply because I was in the area. Will I return? I'm sure I will at some point, but not likely in the near future. Not because of any bad experiences, simply because it's far away and usually an impulse visit. read more

Ever since AMC took over this theatre from Carmike it's gone downhill!! It takes FOREVER to get your tickets, you can see wallpaper coming down in the hallways, the prices have increased, and the lines are always so long to get refreshments. The employees look like they're in pain, and the seats (especially the middle ones) in the theaters are threadbare. I loved this theatre but now it's more of a pain to go to than a good experience. There's a theatre in Springfield called Cinemark where prices are so much cheaper and they have reclining seats! Save money and go there. read more

The staff is young and not overly friendly - more, I think, due to lack of professional experience than actual disrespect. The individual theaters are in need of some upgrades compared to modern theater amenities - in particular the seating and sound. Public areas are kept reasonably clean. AMC theaters do have some enjoyable special presentations like movie re-releases, but you have to really look for when they are. This theater in particular also runs some great specials during the week. Check Fandango for both. Movies shown in the 4:00pm hour are deeply discounted. read more

I'm actually torn between 3 and 4 stars. The staff is always polite and the picture and sound quality is always good and I love $5.00 Tuesdays. However the theater really needs some updating. It would be awesome if at least one of the houses had Dolby Atmos or Dolby Cinema but the seats are what really turn me off. They are dirty, torn up, squeaky and uncomfortable! People need to remember what this is. A small town movie theater. Are the concessions expensive? Yes. They are at all movie theaters. In terms of movie-going and viewing, not a bad experience at all. Tickets are easy to buy online or at the theater, and I have always seen them cut off the busy movies before they oversold so everyone could get seats. If you are going with a larger group to a popular/new movie, go early! As with most theaters, you will not be able to find a bunch of seats together if you all walk in like 5 minutes before showtime. Seats are comfy, seems clean enough, and the staff is friendly. Haven't had a bad experience here. I highly recommend this one over the Regal on 9th. read more

Don't waste your money on the food here! If you have extra time go to Applebee's. If you need a quick bite go to one of the fast food joints nearby. Just don't bother getting the nachos at Carmike. It's a complete waste of money. I can't believe they charge $6.50 for a plastic tray, nacho bag and a cheese packet. They don't even bother to open the bag of chips or cheese for you. Ignore the hot dog and the pickle as well. I asked them what was so special about the pickle for them to charge $2.50 and the employee said he had no idea and that they were out of stock anyway. I have to agree with Jacob's earlier review about the soggy popcorn. I've never experienced soggy movie popcorn before and was taken aback by it. By the end of the movie there was still over half the bag left. Can't. Movie was great though! read more

Their customer service is a joint venture to a depression commercial... No energy, nothing - just mere, "Hi (FML, FML, FML), Carmike Cinemas, how can I help you?" Their tone - horrible. You'd hope for them to be more courteous and helpful, but they're not especially whoever manned the customer phone lines tonight, 3/7/10. I felt as if being a customer was a burden to her and my money didn't matter there. Although it's a college town, it's a family town just the same and although I'm a college student doesn't mean I should be treated any less than a Corvallis local. I'm damn right disappointed! Carmike, either get yourself better employees or service them to some Zoloft. That or stop hiring high school students to young college students that don't know any better than washing their whites from their colors. read more

Went to a movie here on Sunday, and the experience was very upsetting. We showed up at 4:10 for a 4pm showing of a movie to skip out on the previews, and discovered the previews hadn't even started. Ten minutes later, they started. With the lights still on a half hour in, someone stood up to go ask for the lights to be turned off. Still nothing. I have been watching movies for most of my life and I have enjoyed having this cineplex so close to home. I realize that the average price of an adult ticket seems high (with 3D viewing costing even more) but this local theater does not have the highest if you compare it to Portland or Seattle. Since they converted all of their projectors to a digital format a few years ago viewing new flicks has been a pleasure. The picture is always uniform and well lit and the audio is (usually) set at the proper level without being too loud. Add to the fact that all of their theaters have stadium-style seating and you won't miss a bit of the action. I realize that the counter staff is almost exclusively in the teenage years but then what theater is not? I have almost always encountered adequate and polite service. The one thing I miss, though, is their 50 cent popcorn tuesdays. We used to wait for Tuesday night to see a new film while munching on a huge bowl of popcorn but that service has since been discontinued. Parking is a breeze too. On quite a few occasions we have been able to park right up at the front. read more

If you are an 18-25 year old and love Super Hero movies, or just movies no one has ever heard about, mainly crap horror and idiotic comedies, then AMC is the right place for you. On the rare occasion they include a film with some worth, invariably there will be no showtimes for although AMC may be advertising it on their poorly run website, it won't be here in this berg. First run films, many times, never show at all. Maybe Portland. Ok I'll drive to Portland to see a two hour film. This place sucks for film. Expensive...get ready for it. If the dollar is not a concern for you then all is well here. The concessions are so overpriced that I almost walked out. $16.50 is their "deal" for a large popcorn and two medium drinks. When you break it all down, that is about $1.50 worth of goods for $16.50. Do yourself a favor and go to the Safeway next door for yummies. The ticket prices are highest in town too. So, fine, you get past that robbery, then onto the movie you are psyched about. Bamn! Broken projector (Get him to the Greek, 6/19/10 at 7:20pm) and the kid at the window sold us the later show without telling us. Poor training and a super hassle when there is a babysitter at home that is counting on us getting home on time. Get, taken care. NOW the movie....oh wait, no...because they have captive they show you ads...I mean, real TV-style, starting at show time...not the slides you normally endure before hand, but ADS for six full minutes. THEN you get to the trailers for other movies. AND to top it all off...I like good sound and the system in that place is fine. HOWEVER, there was something loose on the front left side and it rattled whenever there was deep base in the room... You would think with all the money they get from popcorn and all the money from the ads that they would have the man power to cruise through there once a day and make darn sure the system is TOP NOTCH. Serious. Next time I will gladly drive out of my way to go to a different theatre...and no, this is not the first time I have been to this place and this is not a one off experience. read more

I think Corvallis AMC is a big improvement over its former incarnation as a Carmike theatre. Very happy with the customer service, discounts in the loyality program, and they have replace many of the worn-out seats. No the don't have any recliners yet like some of the Portland Theatres but to date this is the best movie theatre in Corvallis. read more
