Regal is literally my number one go to movie spot! I am an unlimited member so I tend to frequent multiple different regals wherever I go but SouthPark is definitely my Home base. This is a pretty standard theater in my opinion, they have the basic seats and a good number of screens. This theater usually has all of the bigger movie releases along with some smaller ones every once in a while. The concessions have all of your standard offerings along with pretzels & hot dogs and the popcorn has always been fresh in my experience. This is a no fuss type of movie theatre, as in you get in and you get out. We checked out Zootopia 2 as a group of 14, and the theatre was empty when we bought our tickets 2 hours before showtime. The theatre wasn't full when it came time to watch the movie. This was on the Friday of Thanksgiving week, when the movie had only been out for a few days. read more

Anytime that you are back home for the holiday and you have a lot of family with you, and you guys can walk through the stores with space then it is a great layout for a location. I came for the movie theater but the parking lot is great you're going to have plenty of space they thought I had when they built this years ago no one broke into my car while I was in the movie theater so that's also a positive that we should know about. read more

I always enjoy my visit to the movies because I'm going to get to see a movie that I enjoy. With the new technology, you can buy your ticket in advance online and pick the seat where you want to sit. The only time you interact is at the concession stand and often they do have someone standing at the door to scan your virtual ticket. read more

Went to this theater today to see the Minecraft movie because the cinema cafe in Chester was completely sold out of every showing. That should have been an indicator to wait because this one had barely any seats taken... For starters, regal charges a $2 fee per person to purchase tickets online. When the tickets were only $10 for the kids matinee... Annoying, but whatever. Better than dealing with a sold out show, barely. And this place already charges $2 more per ticket than the new theatre. We arrived and went to get popcorn and drinks, and although there were two people behind the register, they were so slow, we were the second ones in line and still took forever to get our purchases. Normally, it would have made us miss part of the movie except... They were having technical difficulties. Our 12:25 movie didn't start until almost half an hour later. The 12:40 movie on a different screen started before ours did. But they didn't come tell us or anything, people had to keep going to ask. Eventually we decided to miss the previews of the 12:40 movie and go to it instead, but around 12:53, our movie finally started. They did skip the previews, which I appreciated, but waiting for almost half an hour with three kids waiting to see a movie and getting bored was not particularly enjoyable for us. We also agreed that the theater was uncomfortably hot. The seats are just "meh" and I did have to put up the armrests, which is lucky that they lift up, because the seats are pretty small. Luckily, nobody was beside us. Overall, I will definitely make sure I buy tickets at my normal theatre much further in advance so we don't have to come here again. read more

This branch of regal is ok, but it hasn't changed since the 1990s. Everything is worn. The service staff is small but polite and helpful. It has 16 theatres, so there are lots of options, but we have several other theatres in the area that are newer. read more

Went to see Superman yesterday and took my niece. She pays monthly so she gets in free. We got one senior ticket, two small drinks, and two small popcorns. The total was $45.69!! Could not believe it! That was with one free ticket and discounts on the other stuff. Couldn't go to Cinema Cafe in Chester because it was sold out. This is the best in town??!?!? C'mon. Place gets super busy!!! I stood in the concession stand line for over 20 minutes before I placed my order. About halfway through the wait I realized that I was in a line that was moving a lot slower than other lines. It was the cashier just taking her sweet time getting food and drinks. I literally went to an entirely different line and got my food faster than the person in front of me. Not to say the new line was any faster because it wasn't. Everyone that I was in line with all said that the lines and waits are always this bad. As I went to enter the theater I gave my ticket to another employee and asked if the lines are always that bad. He was like, "Yeah you're gonna wait, it's always slow." This is just terrible. I thought I was going to be early to the movie and I almost ended up being late to it. The seating is also not that great at all. None of the seats recline. Note to theater: you can only do reserved seating if the seats recline. You're breaking movie theater etiquette. lol There was also popcorn all over the hallways of the theater. We ventured out for the first movie since well before pandemic. Previously we always went to Midlothian, but had given up on dinner and a movie locations. My 9 year old asked to see Cruella in the theater instead of Disney + so we ventured to this location for the first showing. The theater is clean, staff very cordial, and overall a good experience. However, old popcorn and tickets up to $4 per ticket more than other theaters in the general area caused the 3 star rating. Other note: there are no combos at this concession location so basically no deals, discounts, or bargains. I am by far not a cheap person (ask my hubby), but it is a very overpriced experience. Me and my friend went to see the Barbie movie and we left for a minute to get something to drink when we came back the lady told us we couldn't take drinks inside so we threw them away and she said we could go back in, this coo stopped me and started yelling at me telling me to get out mind I'm only 15. We came into this location at about 1 pm on a Tuesday with 2 adults and 5-kids. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they run specials on Tuesdays. The facility looks to be well kept and the bathrooms are maintained well. There were several things in the lobby to see and interact with. The facility was not busy at all, which we expected. We were disappointed that their food options were limited, likely due to the current supply shortage. As well as almost all of the icee options and machines were down. But staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend and return. read more

A quite big and elegant Regal as part of Southpark Mall. The facility seems a bit rusty but it has a certain charm to it in its design, which I found quite interesting and pleasant. The theater complex itself is quite big and has a good entrances/exits and layout. The concessions stand seemed always efficient and well-staffed and the staff pleasant. Conveniently located at the shopping mall. That's a huge plus for someone who doesn't want to go in early and waste time waiting. Instead I purchased my tickets and did some shopping before entering the movie theater to see LOGAN. It's not a large shopping mall, but there are definitely enough stores to keep you busy. The food court is what attracts me the most. The theater is small but it's okay. On this particular Sunday when I went to see a movie, it was quiet and there was plenty of seating. I glanced at the food counter, but nothing caught my attention except for the prices. Pretty insane what movie theaters charge for food. I recommend eating before you get here, and save a lot of money. This is where the food court will help out, so you can fill your kids up before seeing the movie. read more

It's the closest large theater to Fort Lee with the largest selection of movies. It is absolutely packed with AIT soldiers during the day on weekends as is the rest of the mall. I love going to the last showings of the day to have the entire theater for myself. I've never gone during peak hours so I can't saying anything about long lines for tickets of concessions. If you're not using a military or any other discount, skip the line and go to the ticket kiosk through the double doors on the right. Waiting for an IMAX screen and reclining seats. read more

I guess this is the movie theater that you turn to if you live in the area. Congratulations, Colonial Heights, you get the honor of having a completely average movie theater serve you. There's nothing wrong with that. It just means you'd have to settle for an average experience in a below-average mall. I went here to see two movies: X-Men: Days of Future Past and Transformers: Age of Extinction. I disliked both movies, although I'm not going to hold that against Cinema 16 in this review of course. I'm going to find other things I can pick on instead. Like how weak the flush of the toilet in the men's bathroom is. Or how water costs a whopping five dollars per bottle. I did like how the bathroom was located so close to the theaters themselves, so I didn't miss too much of X-Men when I had to take a quick break. But other than that, there's not too much to comment on for this movie theater. Be sure to pay the extra few dollars for the 3D glasses, because that's always fun! read more

It does not give me any joy to give this theater a bad review. I worked at this location as a teenager and I really enjoyed the job. Since my time there, they have grown and moved locations in the mall but that is about it. I have gone on multiple occasions and am constantly disappointed. Today's experience took the cake. It is spring break and my daughter wanted to go to a matinee today so I obliged. When we got there the line was long, as would be expected when kids are out of school. They only had one poor soul at the ticket window and it was slow going. So I decided to use a self service kiosk, but it was not working out for me. I went to the ticket taker and explained that I was having issues with the kiosk and my movie was about to start. He told me to go get in line. I was sure he didn't know about the one ticket taker at the window and the long lines out there so I gave him the info. This is when he stopped being polite and got real, "Its nice outside. Why don't you just go outside?" Yes, he told me to go outside. I told him this is why the movie theater business is failing and he said, "So." Ha! I had to ask him if he just said so to me and he said yeah I said so. He did call a manager over his walkie talkie and she said she was busy. We ended up leaving and not seeing a movie there at all. We went outside, which was actually good advice. Stop going to the movies and go outside! read more

Theaters are great, seats are comfortable. However, the concession is absolutely HORRIBLE. We stood in line for 30 minutes just to order, then it took another 15 minutes to get the order correct. Large popcorn, 4 drinks, two kids snack packs, 5 candy items and a pretzel = $85 ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS We will not spend another penny there. The outside of this mall is pretty trashy ... and I mean trash everywhere. Didn't give me too much hope. While the ticket line moved quickly, I had to have a snack waiting to buy a snack in the concession line. Also, I ordered a icee and he had to try three machines before he could find one frozen. I also ordered a water and while he upsold me to the liter ($.30) extra, it was room temperature. I asked if he had any cold, and he downsold me back to 20oz which had probably been in the fridge for 30 min. For a 7:30 pm movie on a Friday night, it might help if you plan ahead and have concessions stocked and ready. However, the seats were comfy and the theater and bathrooms were fairly clean. The concession stand is the slowest I've ever seen anywhere. I showed up to my 7:00 pm movie at 6:45, and was in line for popcorn and soda by 6:50. There were MAYBE 20 people in front of me (I really don't even think it was that many) and I didn't get to the front of the line until 7:20 missing a good portion of the movie is was there to see. Not only was the line slow, the cashier, WITHOUT ASKING, charges me for a holiday donation by rounding my total to the nearest dollar. I may have donated if he asked, but he just charged me for the donation without my permission. Skip this theater. I know I won't be back. read more

Local movie theater situated within the Southpark mall. Great location for connivence to shop, eat, and watch a movie all in one location. It's not like AMC theaters where the seats are the reclining sofas, but are regular old style stadium seats. They have a few arcade machines to kill time and a snack stand. The theater itself has usually been pretty clean and the staff were friendly every time I've been there. Even the rest rooms were kept at a pretty good standard, which is nice since movie theater bathrooms are usually very dirty. The only thing I wasn't a big fan about is how slow the snack bar line moves. Most times there's only one person working there and he or she is usually very slow. I recommend training up the employees a bit more or have at least 2-3 people working there. This theater does provide military discount so that's a nice feature for those in the Armed Forces. read more

Convenient and clean (even the restrooms). Not too crowded on a Saturday afternoon but was very busy after the show upon leaving around 6pm with younger crowd coming in. Closest theatre to Ft. Lee army base so lots of young AIT soldiers and families. Wide variety of show times and latest movies. Lobby/concession area could have been better kept, was messy with a lot of spilled food and such on the floor. Arrive early if you plan on getting refreshments before your show- lines are long and slow. Otherwise good service and location. Recommended for family night out and even date night :) read more

Worst Movie Theater Experience Ever!!! One thing I liked about the movie theater was the seating. The seats and seating in the theater were of a more modern stadium setting. The seats themselves were very comfey for people of all sizes and the walking room in between rows provided enough space for someone to come and go as they wished without bumping and tripping over someone. One thing I hated about the movie was the demographic of people there. 85% were young, high school immature kids who talked so much through the movie a cop and usher had to stand in there threatening to kick people out for being disruptive. I rather go to theaters where I can watch the movie without having 5 people around me give their 2 cents on every scene in the movie. read more

This price is ok, but you're still going to pay movie theater prices; two small drinks, a small popcorn and some candy will still set you back twenty bucks. The seating is not great, it's not even decent, and I have no idea why someone would say otherwise. The legroom is acceptable, but that's where the positives end. In fact, my wife, my friend and I all remarked on how narrow the seats were. The screens are big but I've noticed visible flaws on several of them. The sound varies between adequate and way-too-freaking-loud. I must have been spoiled by AMC and Douglas/Marcus theaters back home, because I really can't see why anyone with a choice in the matter would come here. Regal Southpark -- which should be renamed as to not to continue to offend the English language -- is regularly priced with contemporary counterparts that blow it out of the entertainment experience water. On a weekend, you will have to go with a shitton of time to spare before the scheduled screening of the moving picture of your choice because the queues are so prohibitively long. I truly have never seen anything like it. Not even in third world countries. It would seem like Southpark Mall's misnomer-named theatre is the only ticket in town. Sad, but true. read more

I am not a huge movie person, but I have enjoyed the several times I have been to this theater. The price is standard and they have a military discount. It's $8.50 for an adult. The seating is comfortable and slightly reclines. There is plenty of room and I have yet to be in a theater that is packed. It is well maintained and clean. I give this place two stars and not one simply because it exists. It fills a void present in colonial heights and the surrounding areas where the only real things to do are shop or eat. (In all honesty, do yourself a favor and skip this theater. Head to destination theater in hopewell. They only have 2 screens but it's usually all new movies and at 6 dollars a ticket, you cant go wrong.) The theater itself is attached to a dilapidated mall that only becomes more worn down and poorly maintained as time goes on. Depending on when you go you should expect long lines for tickets and even longer lines for concessions. Tickets are over priced at roughly 13 dollars for adults and over 10 for children, although they do offer decent senior and military discounts (not that it does the average person any good). While ticket prices are bad, the concessions are worse. A large drink and a large popcorn will set you back over 16 dollars. They do give you a free refill on a large popcorn but who wants to get up in the middle of a movie to go wait forever in line for more popcorn. Oh and the drink refills aren't free, they're not even discounted. It's full price. The theaters themselves are usually dirty. Popcorn and unidentifiable sticky substances coat the floor. About the only saving grace here are the seats, of which there are plenty. They are comfortable for the most part and are usually clean. In summation, come here if your into long waits, overpaying, and poorly cleaned theaters. Otherwise, take the drive elsewhere to a better theater. read more

Being the only movie theater in the Tri-Cities, you don't have much choice unless you really want to drive up to Richmond, but to be honest it's not a bad movie theater. The stadium seating is awesome, the sound is really good and they play the best of the best movies. The service is friendly, though a bit slow at times. The only thing is the prices, but they aren't high compared to other Cinemas. The prices are just part of your "movie experience". read more
